An exceptional property in a unique location, yet conveniently close to many other sites. The hosts were outstanding. As extensive travelers, we found this to be one of the best places we’ve ever stayed.
Sean & Jenny’s cottage is the best of both worlds. To celebrate a milestone anniversary, my husband and I wanted to spend quiet time together and also go out to celebrate.
The cottage is spectacular. Beautiful woodwork. Furniture that invites lounging.
The setting is jaw-dropping. At every time of day, the views are stunning. And minutes away are cafes and restaurants and shops. Best of both worlds!
Sean and Jenny were great hosts - exceptionally accessible and responsive.
Bottom line: this is a GEM!
Cannot wait to visit again!
The house is so cozy! The views are gorgeous! It was private but a close drive to great restaurants. We ate in almost every night because there was no better view!
We loved being there. It was thoroughly a delight!
We, absolutely, loved the location, the views from the house, the deck & the yard, plus the beauty inside the house.
Sean & Jenny thought of so much to make their guests feel welcome, and to enjoy their stay.
We loved seeing the heron, egrets, seagulls, fish, boaters, as well as the stunning sunrises & sunsets.
I’m so glad the weather cooperated, and we were able to enjoy time on the outside sofa & chairs, just soaking up the beauty, peace and pleasure of being there.
My husband enjoyed his morning walks. The location is stunning!
I loved seeing the gorgeous Stony Creek granite that is used all over, in the outdoor steps, stepping stones, sea walls, foundations on a number of the houses, and just part of the land itself. Stony Creek granite was used for the foundation of the Statue of Liberty many years ago.
We’ve been to so many amazing places, thanks to VRBO and the awesome homeowners. So many places & locations you’d never get to see & experience staying in a hotel. This was one of them! Thank you, Sean & Jenny, for sharing your amazingly beautiful home & setting! It was truly a special treat for us!
It was heavenly being there!
Thanks, again! ❤️
This home is awesome. The location is fantastic - on a private island with just 2 other homes. It is separated from the other two homes and very private. The views are wonderful - sunrise from one side of the island, sunset from the other, and unobstructed views across Long Island Sound. It is very peaceful and relaxing spot. The home is in excellent condition. There are multiple tables and sitting/lounging areas outside. The photos are accurate and the home/location is even better in person than in the photos. The host could not be more responsive and helpful. Had an amazing time. If you are looking for a quiet spot to get away I strongly recommend this property. I will definitely stay there again if back in that area.
We needed a break and found this location to offer is the peace and serenity we needed, with the stunning surroundings to add that magical element that makes you sad to leave. To wake and have the sun streaming in your kitchen with the ocean right outside your door is unparalled. Very comfortable bed, heated bathroom floor, amazing views from inside and outside and everything you need to prepare a meal made for a wonderful visit. Owner was extremely helpful and accommodating, great communication.
My husband and I enjoyed our quick getaway at this idyllic property. The setting is magical. The cottage is immaculate and very private, and Sean was quick to respond to any questions. We could not have dreamt of a better long weekend away together. Cannot wait to return.

Great place for a getaway for couples, outstanding location and views, well-appointed property. We were surprised to learn the water is not potable; very salty, so that you will feel a bit sticky after a shower. The owner left plenty of bottled water you need to brush your teeth and cook. Overall extremely happy and look forward to a future stay.
The listing understated the beauty and privacy of this wonderful retreat. I definitely will go back and stay at this cottage. I grew up in the area and have boated this coast for decades. However, I was still surprised by the beauty of the property and the grounds. If you like the Maine coast but close to NYC with pink granite and pines - you might fall in love here. The cottage itself is clean, modern, light and airy. Everything worked and was well kept. Sean was responsive and helpful.
Serenity Perfected at an Unbelievably Unique Property
I cannot say enough positive things about Bungalow Branford or hosts, Jenny & Sean. My husband and I visited in July for a long birthday weekend and were looking for a private, peaceful getaway near the water. The bungalow (more like a cottage) is situated on a private island right outside of Guilford. The space is clean, modern and well equipped and absolutely perfect for a quiet couples weekend away. Working WiFI too, which allowed us to take a few calls and meetings while there. We woke up each day and enjoyed coffee on the deck overlooking the water. Watching the plethora of wildlife, passing boats and kayakers was enough to keep us entertained for hours. We went into charming Guilford for a few meals and a little exploring and also thoroughly enjoyed the trip to the fish market where we picked up fresh seafood to prepare back at the house. You cannot ask for better hosts than Jenny and Sean. The handwritten welcome and bottle of wine were warm, nice touches. And, they were incredibly accommodating on our departure day. We are already prepared to book again for next year. Thank you for such a memorable stay!
The photos did not do the property enough justice. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage and Guilford. Our Hosts were wonderful and very easy to reach and communicate with and we followed a few of their local recommendations and enjoyed each and every one of them. Once we got into the cottage there was a hand written note welcoming us. We had a relaxing and enjoyable experience watching the sea and nature around ranging fishes jumping in the sea to the full moon light to a friendly Chipmunk and squirrel (who enjoyed his daily dose of rose.)
Would we stay there again. Yes we would as it was clean, homely and wonderful.
