Authentic Log Cabin in Convenient Location

Must be at least 25 years of age to book.

Welcome to Connie's Log Cabin!

Connie's Log Cabin is a three-bedroom, three-and-a-half bathroom log cabin originally and lovingly built by the owner's Grandmother, Connie. This beautiful authentic log cabin in the exclusive gated Tynecastle community in Banner Elk has convenient, easy access to all the high country has to offer. Sugar Mountain is a quick five-minute drive, and famous Grandfather Mountain is ten minutes away. Restaurants, coffee, shopping, hiking, and fishing are all within a short distance.

Enter into the great room of this three-level home and find yourself surrounded by natural wood and rock features with soaring vaulted ceilings and an impressive rock fireplace with gas logs. Enjoy the large flat screen HD smart TV from the designer furniture or take in the scenery from the windows and skylights. The open kitchen has custom cabinetry, tile countertops, and high-end appliances. The four barstools at the smooth wood-topped bar will be a favorite spot between the kitchen and dining room. The dining room boasts an expanding table with seating for ten in an intimate corner. The main level deck is inviting with a gas grill, outdoor dining table, a peaceful porch swing, and wicker rocking chairs. The lower level deck has even more space to enjoy the quiet of the mature hardwood forest of the Tynecastle community. Both decks overlook the level, grassy yard, which has a wood-burning fire pit for an evening gathering.

*Firewood available for purchase after booking. Please contact Carolina Cabin Rentals if interested.

There are 4 sleeping areas in this house. The main level master suite has a king bed, flat-screen TV, and an impressive private ensuite bathroom. The master bathroom contains a custom tile shower with a rain shower head and a soaking tub. The upper level features a cozy loft space that looks down on the great room. The upper-level queen suite has two queen beds, a private ensuite bathroom, ROKU TV, and a walk-in closet. The loft sleeps two with a trundled day bed and has a foosball game table, board games, puzzles, and a desk for work or games. The lower level includes a queen suite with a private bathroom and TV and an additional queen bedroom with a TV and lower-level deck access from inside the room.

Amenities at Connies Log Cabin include Wifi, a washer and dryer on the main level near the half bath, and central heating and air conditioning. There is ample parking in the upper and lower gravel parking areas, and the paved community roads are not far down the gravel driveway. Up to two pets are welcome with a reservation. Standard pet fees will apply.
*Allows pets with an additional fee paid after booking. The fee is $35 per pet per day.

Boone, Blowing Rock, and the quaint village of Valle Crucis, home of the original Mast General Store and the delightful riverside Valle Crucis Community Park, are each within a twenty-minute drive of Connie's Log Cabin.

Connie's Log Cabin is a special place where you can make memories on your next getaway with family and friends!

Family Vacation

Our mountain get-away was a delightful reprieve from summer heat. The accommodations were very comfortable and enjoyable. There were many things to see and do in the area for day trips.

Perfect location / Peaceful setting

We stayed at Connie’s Log Cabin for a family getaway. This property is really comfortable and well stocked. There are plenty of restaurants, shopping and activities nearby. One point to note: there didn’t appear to be any heat ducts/vents in the lower level of this house. There are 2 bedrooms on the lower level and it may cause issues in the colder months. Overall, highly recommend Connie’s Log Cabin!

Extra app required.

Staying here requires you to download some extra app outside of vrbo which is super annoying. And the property management company will send you a dozen emails which is weird and unnecessary. The property is lovely, be prepared to bring stuff you wouldn’t think you need. Like trash bags. Don’t arrive after dark, the signs within the subdivision are extra tiny and written in some strange illegible script. The cabin is setup well and has plenty of space and amenities.

Great place to stay!!

Great place to stay! Our only issue was getting in. The directions told us to turn on Lakeside Drive just past The Peddlin' Pig, however, there was a new additional gate with a padlock on the outside of the gate we were supposed to enter. My friends and I are familiar with Banner Elk so we knew how to get in the main Tynecastle entrance and find it but the directions might not to be updated for the next people that rent the house! We had a wonderful time at the house and it was perfect for our group! Thanks so much for a great stay!!

Fun place moments outside of Banner Elk

This property is pretty awesome. It truly feels like you're hours away from civilization when you're sitting in the cabin. The house was great, very clean. The porch was awesome with beautiful plants in the back. Fire pit was fun. The fenced in area around the firepit coming off of the back porch was great for those with dogs. I only have three complaints. First, the bedrooms downstairs are FREEZING. The temperature in the house varies drastically from upstairs to downstairs. It was probably 70 degrees on the main floor, 73 upstairs, and 50 downstairs. There's even heating blankets on the beds downstairs to help fight the cold. The floors/ceilings are PAPER THIN. I could hear absolutely everything upstairs. I could even hear the whispers and people blowing their nose. It kept me up all night hearing them walk to the bathroom, shuffle around the floor, etc. So be wary of who you assign to the upstairs bedroom. Lastly, the neighborhood is all marked as "private property" and navigating there was wildly difficult. We accidentally took a family walk down the hill and was approached by VERY angry rich people who told us we were walking on their property and forcefully made us walk back up the hill. It was weird. They drove their car down and waved their hands all around at us before stopping and telling us why we were in the wrong. Otherwise, this is a great place. We would still go back despite those problems but I would come prepared this time around. I definitely wouldn't put the grandparents down in the freezing rooms. I definitely wouldn't put the people with the dog in the top floor where you can hear the dog sniffing the floor and shuffling around.
