***July 2022 Update: Fiber internet installed! Enjoy lightning fast download/upload speeds, smooth video streaming, video chatting with friends and family, online gaming, and more!***

***May 2022 Update: New beds, bedding (sheets, comforter, pads), fresh new interior paint, new patio chairs, new refrigerator, new office chairs - pretty much all new interior of everything!***

Kailani Villa is located near the small village of Ninole on the east side of the Big Island of Hawai’i, about 20 miles north of Hilo along the glorious Hamakua Coast. Situated in convenient driving proximity to both Hilo and Waimea, it is a great jumping-off point for all of your Big Island adventures including downtown Hilo, the Volcanoes National Park, Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden, and Parker Ranch, to name a few.

Be prepared to relax, unwind and enjoy yourselves at this luxury estate!

Kailani Villa is a very spacious single-story 3-bedroom, 3-bath home designed with convenience and comfort in mind for up to six guests. The main living space is an open-design living room, kitchen and dining area, each boasting that breathtaking ocean view. The floors are beautiful, deep hardwoods and the ceilings are vaulted. The living room has abundant seating for your comfort, a smart TV, as well as a DVD player with a large library of movies for your entertainment.

The large, open kitchen boasts granite countertops with plenty of space and stainless steel appliances, including a gas range. Cook your meals and then choose your dining space: inside or out? The formal dining area comfortably seats six and hosts gorgeous views of the lanai and ocean beyond. Outside on the lanai is another dining table with six tropical grass-weave chairs to enjoy your morning coffee or meal. Rural Kailani Villa has a private water catchment system with a quality filter system, so it is safe to drink.

Back inside are three luxurious bedrooms, two with en-suite bathrooms. One bedroom has a quality King-size bed, the second bedroom has a Queen-size bed and the third has a full/double bed. There is plenty of closet space to store your sandals, shorts and t-shirts.

If you have to work, a spacious office area with not just one, but two desks overlooking the grounds is available with high-speed fiber internet. Telephone service is provided for making phone calls. A fully equipped laundry room with washer and dryer is available as well.

A spacious terra cotta tiled lanai runs the complete length of the house and offers plenty of lounge chairs to greet the morning sunrise, relax with a book, gaze out over the ocean in search of whales (during the winter months of November – March!), keep a watchful eye over your children as they enjoy the grounds or enjoy your morning coffee or evening glass of wine. And the rustic dining table is always there for meal time, snack time or a play a board game while you take a break from the sun.

The most unexpected feature at Kailani Villa is the resident sheep! They are quite playful – the older ones tend to keep to themselves and stay away, while the younger ones will venture over to greet you! They are contained for your safety and theirs and a caretaker does stop in occasionally to feed and check on them.

Your holiday wouldn’t be complete without enjoying the abundant tropical flowers and trees, ocean breezes and warm sunshine. The six-and-one-half acres is your private botanical garden with fragrant flowers like Plumeria and Tahitian Gardenia, colorful flowers such as Hibiscus and Bougainvillea, various Palm trees and fruit trees too!

Beautiful peaceful getaway

We spent a month here and it was beautiful, peaceful, and Private. We saw whales almost every day. The location is perfect for going to the attractions on the Hilo side of the island. Would definitely stay here again.

Toddler proof house

Our stay with a 3 year old was excellent but a bit tricky with the whole front yard flagged off because of new seeding . It was also quite muddy around the yard Good smart TV and WiFi and a somewhat sparsely appointed kitchen.Great view with what sitings a big plus.

Paradise country living

The location was excellent. The sunrises were breathtaking. The house was comfortable and had everything we needed for cooking. Great country location. The only negative is the patio furniture should have been cleaned before we arrived, we had to clean to sit outside. The windows looking out toward the ocean should have been cleaned as well. Also all other VRBO properties I have rented in Hawaii have had beach chairs and snorkeling gear for use this one did not. The owner was very responsive when we needed to reach out to him.

Perfect setting on Hamakua coast

The house is on several private acres of land overlooking the ocean and separated from the highway by abundant foliage. A large lanai runs along the ocean side of the house and was where we spent most of our time chatting and just watching the rainbows and ever-changing sky and ocean (we never turned the tv on).

Hawaii as it should be

The property makes you feel like you are in a more authentic Hawaii.. there is plenty of space around you (6.5 acres!) with a ocean front view from most rooms in the house. It was great base to go down to Hilo to eat, explore the Hamakua area.. which is lush green and a very different scene than the east side.. we loved the tropical views, the infrequent rains and the ultra blue clear skies. The house has everything you need to hang out and a very nice kitchen to cook and lanai to eat and enjoy the dramatic views. Overall, highly recommended!

Kailani Villa is absolutely beautiful. It was so peaceful to sit out on the patio overlooking the property and the ocean. It's quiet and secluded, but only about a 15-20 minute drive to Hilo. The property was very spacious and the kitchen was well stocked with almost every utensil and appliance you could need. We were 4 adults and 1 teen and had plenty of room with the 3 large bedrooms with 3 bathrooms that were well stocked with towels and toiletries and a huge office space. We had a washer/dryer was at our disposal. There was a formal dining room as well as a dining area on the patio, so there was so much space to stretch out. The view was completely breathtaking. The host was very communicative and quick to respond when we had issues like no TV and the WI-FI. He had a TV delivered and boosted the wi-fi strength The only issue was that the wi-fi was still weak and we were unable to stream to the TV. There is no AC but there were fans in all the rooms and with the sliding doors and windows open, we had the breeze off the ocean, so AC wasn't really needed. I would definitely rent this property again when staying in the area. If the pool was working, this property would have been perfect.
