There isn’t much to say aside from the fact that this place is exactly what we needed. A true home away from home, even our pup was in heaven. Donna and Randy are as gracious as they come, and you’ll have everything you need during your stay with zero worries. We’ll be back! p.s if you bring your dog, he/she will leave with a new best friend. Rowdy the blue heeler is the friendliest host dog!
Exceeded all expectations & highly recommend this incredible cabin! So much charm & character! Extremely cozy, clean & welcoming! If you need anything, the hosts were amazing-very friendly, responsive & accommodating. The property was a hidden jewel & blessed to have been hosted by such good hearted people! Look to our next visit!
This charming cabin was absolutely wonderful and the surrounding property was beautiful, only 10 minutes from downtown Blowing Rock. Donna and Randy were amazing hosts, along with Rowdy their adorable pup!! It was a perfect weekend respite!
This is an amazing, unique cabin with everything you need for a quiet retreat from the world. We loved the cabin and the setting. Blowing Rock is a charming town with many great restaurants and the scenery is beautiful.
Secluded property in a little valley with the sounds of a running creek close to the cabin. We saw deer by the cabin on numerous occasions. We were only 3 miles from downtown Blowing Rock. We have made numerous visits to this area off and on for 28 years and this cabin was one of our more memorable locations to stay.
Beautiful cabin nestled in the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains that is conveniently located minutes away from Blowing Rock. Hosts were wonderful, cabin is super clean and decorated to perfection. Once we were unpacked we didn’t leave the property! We took advantage of the hiking trails and enjoyed relaxing by the pond. We’ll be back for sure!
This property is perfect for a weekend getaway. Quiet and in an excellent location to Blowing Rock and more! Both Donna and Randy were very accommodating, offering hiking and dining recommendations upon arrival. My husband and dogs absolutely loved it.
We loved everything about our stay in this cool cabin! The property was beautiful with a pond, pasture, and walking trails in the woods. The Blue Ridge Parkway is very close .
The cabin was absolutely perfect! Everything was fresh and clean. The property was equally as amazing and my kids had the best time playing in the creek. We got to meet the owners who were so lovely and gracious. We can’t wait to go back.
We absolutely loved our stay, the cabin was very cozy and had beautiful views of the pasture, pond and surrounding foothills. Our dog had a blast running in the pasture and swimming in the pond and our daughter loved watching the horse graze. Donna and Randy are awesome hosts, very polite and accommodating. We definitely plan on staying here again next year. There is not one negative thing that can be said about this place or the hosts. 10/10 thanks again for a great weekend trip!
Terrific 2BR/2BA cabin, renovated to perfection. Couldn't have asked for nicer hosts (who live on the property). They have paid attention to details to make visitor's stays comfortable. Convenient location and, if you have a dog, they will love the huge field with a pond in front of the cabin. Highly recommend.
Randy and Donna have created something very unique. They were great hosts and the cabin was spectacular. We always enjoy Blowing Rock, but staying at the creekside cabin made it much more enjoyable. We will definitely be back.
Of all the vacation rentals I've stayed at, this is top of the list. Everything was perfect....location, cabin layout and amenities, cleanliness, ease of access...everything! Donna and Randy were great. Very personable but respected your time and privacy as well. Lots of great info about this wonderful 180-year old cabin remodel. We'll definitely be back for another stay. Thank you for a great week.
We so loved our stay in the cabin that we have two more trips in mind there! Couldn’t have asked for a nicer getaway. The cabin is beautiful and attentively outfitted. Just loved it! Thank you so very much!
Extremely well envisaged and constructed getaway. Lacks nothing for a stay in the country. Plenty of hiking and beautiful covered deck.
Blowing Rock and Lenoir both within a 15 mile radius.
Quite secure but still provides serene surroundings. Will use again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were looking for a weekend getaway and when we arrived we knew this was a special place. The cabin overlooks a pond in a pasture.
The cabin itself is just like the pictures. Clean and very detailed. There is a lot of attention to details in the cabin. We will be booking again.
We met Randy and Donna at the pond the first evening that we were there. Very professional and great hosts. The rest of our stay we enjoyed the peace and quiet of the secluded setting with the babbling brook. We definitely recommend.
This cabin, this property, was like jumping into a storybook. Our stay was during peak week for the turning leaves, which was an extra bonus, but regardless, the gravel drive transports you to a "removed world." This historical cabin has been completely updated and is exceptionally appointed. The property feels so private and secluded, even though the owners are nearby. They can be as visible or invisible as you want them to be. Donna and Randy are incredible. So helpful with ideas and tips for the area. They even "rescued us when we got lost on our hike. This cabin is a hidden oasis. We will definitely return.
Unfortunately, we booked our 2 week vacation with Helene arriving during the first week. The cabin and grounds are lovely. Very good well-stocked kitchen (utensils), very nice grill. There are stairs but they are nice and wide with good side rails. Smart tv that allowed us to plug in our own fire stick and watch our YouTube tv As I said, Helene came in and that was after two solid days of rain before, so we didn't get to enjoy Blowing Rock or Boone but one day. We lost power and internet and had idea how bad everything was or when power would come back on. The property is shared (but private) with owners-thank goodness. They also had no idea how bad things were until they started getting texts from friends showing damage. They had brought us candles and flashlights but with no internet or power and low water pressure we got in my husband's car that has wifi and searched for a safe way home. There were trees down leaving the property but the owner had equipment to move them. We were very lucky we stayed in a safe area where there were no mud slides, but more lucky that we had the owners within walking distance that were our lifeline. They had to stay and deal with all the tragedy and lack or power and resources where we got to go home to-Milton :(.
My husband, Randy, and I love living in the North Carolina mountains and are happy to call Blowing Rock our home. Both of us are retired from our jobs in the building and dentistry industries and enjoy selling real estate in the Boone/Blowing Rock area. In our spare time, we love hiking, fishing, spoiling our animals and spending time with good friends. We have a special friend that always refers to this area as "God's Country" and Randy tells people daily that, "I wasn't born in the mountains but I got here as quick as I could". Taking time to absorb nature, reflect and get a little dirt on our boots is the best therapy any of us could ask for. We look forward to having you visit our farm.
