Lots of room for the whole family

It was just as listed and the response time was almost immediate when I would ask a question. Single mom of many.. had a great time and felt safe the whole time.. would definitely recommend. Especially if you have several in your group

Getaway On The Gulf

Friendly and professional host . Location was a short walk to the beach . Plenty of things to do in the surrounding area with many being walking distance. Home was clean and cosy . Would recommend to someone who wants a nice place to stay close to the beautiful beaches of Destin!

My family and I stayed at this property for a week and although the price was fair we had several hiccups. Upon arrival to the property, we did arrive about 20 mins early, they were still cleaning from the previous renters. We waited out in the parking lot while we watched teenage girls wrapped in fleece blankets and undergarments walk back and forth into the property. Apparently the maid didn’t show up to clean the place? After we were able to enter the property my children found full and empty beer cans under the beds. The dryer still had towels and bedding in it and the dishes in the cabinets were dirty. It was very apparent that the property was cleaned in a complete rush and several things were still dirty. You must contact the property manager to control the thermostat but good luck getting ahold of her! Communication was poor from the moment of booking and I contemplated several times canceling and finding another property. The upstairs was unbearably hot and the AC system is not efficient. My children weren’t able to sleep well at all due to the heat. The listing states the property has Wi-Fi but there was no information on how to access this. I messaged property manager requesting this information but she never responded. This was more of a safety concern because we had bad cell phone reception and no Wi-Fi to communicate or look up surroundings. Out of the 3 televisions in the property only ONE of them worked! The remotes that were left didn’t control anything and on the rainy days my children all fought over the one working television. The refrigerator takes over 36 hours to be cool and keep any food at correct temperatures. We had to keep food in our coolers and keep purchasing ice until the fridge finally cooled down. The balcony on the back side of the home had 5-6 slats missing that my children could have very easily fallen through. I was a nervous wreck making sure the back door remained locked so my toddler didn’t fall. The location was convenient with the beach access across the street, walking distance to a few restaurants, and a short drive to Destin. The property is outdated but we expected that from the photos before we arrived. Our experience would have been much better if the property manager communicated, the property was clean, and if the upstairs maybe had an additional cooling unit.

Dance Competitio

We rent this for my daughter's dance competition. To my surprise it was right around the corner from the venue. I failed to check before hand. When it came to check in it all went smooth. Owner replied in a very appropriate time frame. We've already started talking about possibly renting if place is availble when we come back in the area. My daughter loved the loft room.

Poor communication from manager

First, I would like to say we have rented using VRBO for over 15 years. Most years we rent 4-6 times a year and this is the worst review I have ever left. Before we booked the location, we asked about using the dock this was our #1 requirement in a rental as our plan was to be on the boat early am till late evening. We were told we could use the dock. When we arrived, we were meet at the dock by the HOA and told we couldn’t put our boat on the dock The HOA also made it clear this was a residential project and not a place for VRBO rental. This left us looking for a place to store our boat. After searching hard we found dockage about 10 miles away and it cost us close to $500 for the week in which the property manager didn’t offer to help us with this expense. Not only was this an unexpected expense it was extremely aggravating because of driving through traffic to go get the boat and take it back. The wrong information from the property manager didn’t surprise us because communication with the property manager was horrible the whole time down to the night before we arrived, we still didn’t have check in information. We were to the point of cancelling the trip due to not being able to get information about the property. The property couldn't provide the password to the wi-fi during our stay. The property was clean and an ok place to stay. Biggest down fall is it is older and dated but just as pictured, so it was as we expected. If you like a cool place to sleep this is not for you. We purchased a few fans on our first night to bring air from downstairs upstairs to make it bearable. I gave the property a 2 star because of the lack of communication and also the wrong information in hopes that your vacation will go smoother than ours. If you don't need a dock or water access this maybe for you.
