Important Note: Ladybugs are very common in our region. Certain times a year we do experience some ladybugs inside of homes. Please know that all lady bugs are removed by housekeepers during the cleaning process, but are likely to be back quite quickly in large quantities.

What a Wonderful Place!

This is by far the cleanest and most beautiful VRBO we have stayed in! The interior was immaculate with beautiful furnishings and extremely roomy (6,000 square feet?)! We stayed in four of the six bedrooms and the three bathrooms worked perfectly for the 7 of us (3 couples and a single)! If I could have given them 1 mil stars they would have received it from us! Everything was perfect from the interior areas; kitchen with everything we needed, to dining areas (we only used one of the two dining rooms), the three bathrooms and the extra roomy bedrooms! The cleanliness was through the roof! The cleaning crew should share their abilities with other VRBO property owners because they hold the prize for First Class cleaning! We enjoyed exploring the home as well as the exterior grounds! It was very interesting to read the history of the place. All of the information regarding Ms Fannie Moffit was especially interesting! To read her comments and how the condition of her property was left at her death was fascinating! I might add the checkout procedures were unlike any I have experienced, just ensure you take your personal items, then just leave the rest to them! Thank you! If you are anywhere within the vicinity of this property, this is the place to stay! We will definitely try to lease again if we are within 40 miles of this jewel!!! Thank you for a restful stay and sharing this unique historical and beautiful residence with travelers!

Enjoying the Manor in Altamont

The word "charming" is often overused, but it does apply to The Manor in Altamont. Big, spacious, clean, airy, with efficient HVAC to keep it cool during the hot and humid days of early July. There's a wonderful veranda on the north side with powerful fans that became our favorite hang-out spot. A couple things to be aware of. There are no closets in most of the bedrooms; just a rack where you can hang some clothes. There's a lot of noise from trucks and motorcycles passing by all the time. We loved the location, but it is a half-hour drive from major markets, restaurants, and other amenities. Altamont is really a tiny town. They did not distract from our enjoyment; they were just things we learned to adjust to.

Great stay

House and location are great. Plenty of space. As advertised. Check-in was a breeze. Communication with the property manager was great. Our group ran into Joe at the restaurant next door on the first night and he introduced himself and gave a history of the house. Will definitely stay here again when visiting the area.

A great get away for our group after a show at Cumberland Caverns

This house was amazing! We all had plenty of room for all of us and personal privacy for each of the 4 couples. And it was impressive to explore the charm and history of this old home.
