Holidays in the Algarve
In our holiday home "Casa Margarida Azul", in the middle of the historic city center of Silves, you will experience the everyday Portuguese life of a centuries-old city that rises with its castle on the banks of the Arade between hills and orange groves. The town house from 1857 was modernized by us in 2017/18, a symbiosis of traditional materials and modern way of life has emerged. The kitchen, living room and bedroom have a state-of-the-art air conditioning system, with which you can also heat on cold days. The roof terrace, which rises above the roofs of the city, is particularly beautiful, the light of the sunrises and sunsets as well as the typical "Algarve scent" of figs, oranges and strawberry trees - mixed with the salt of the fresh Atlantic air. From here, far away from tourist strongholds, you can explore the wonderful different landscapes, cities and beaches of the Algarve (the nearest beach can be reached in 12 minutes by car). The use of organic cleaning agents and detergents allows allergy sufferers to feel at home in the house, too. Animals are not allowed, no smoking in the house, no parties. Washing machine, bed linen and towels are provided. Travel guide Algarve Baedeker in German in the house. Free WiFi, Smart TV with German channels. Parking in front of the house (public street).
In good time before your arrival you will receive further important information for your stay via email. We have set up various web links for this. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us. We look forward to hearing from you!
P. S. Our house is primarily furnished for 2 people. However, there is the possibility for a traveling child to use the sofa bed in the living room or the large double bed. We do it that way when we go on vacation with our son (12y.).
P. P.S. Every year in August a large, spectacular medieval festival takes place in the old town of Silves, the "Feira Medieval de Silves". With the festival, the city commemorates its impressive history in the region. Please research the date of the event on the Internet. The old town is closed to traffic during this time!
