Harpers Ferry is a must visit, and the Carrot Top Cottage was the perfect location to be completely immersed in the history and quaitness you'd expect to find. The hosts are 2nd to none and quick to act when situations out of their control occurred. The power outage literally set the town back into the early 19th century. We will definitely be visiting again, and would recommend to coupmes of all ages.
This small little cottage was just the right size for our stay. The location was perfect being beside the Appalachian trail and waking up to deer every morning.
We had a wonderful stay at the Carriage House. It was very comfortable. The location is perfectfor exploring historic Harper’s Ferry and the hiking trails.
My wife gave me this trip as a birthday gift (birthday November 7) for my 80th birthday. We walked from the cottage to the town each day which truly proves I am still in shape (lol). We enjoyed our walks, the cleanliness and comfort of the cottage, and the food.
My wife and I had a fantastic time. Very warm and cozy cottage. Walking distance to everything, but tucked away enough to enjoy your privacy. Would definitely stay with them again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning.

Quaint, private, quiet, romantic. Had a warm, romantic feeling. It’s just the right amount of space with a great couch and comfortable bed for two. There is a common area with a fire pit, which was delightful. We had deer In our backyard in the evenings and several other wildlife. It would have been perfect if we had access to a grill. Excellent communication with the owners! The town shuts down early in the evening limiting dinner choices. However 15 minutes away there is access to numerous restaurants. The location is amazing to the old town of Harpers Ferry. The accommodations had updated Tv and charging stations. Definitely would love to stay there again!!
Ten out of ten! I really enjoyed my stay at the cottage. It was clean as a whistle. Check in was easy, and when I had a question the host was very quick to get back to me. Thank you!
Clean, was perfect for me and my Husband. A little of everything we needed for our stay. I would however, like the tall bush by the entrance door trimmed away a little better. Not much room to step down and turn to open the door and carry luggage. Over all, beautiful location and cottage.
I was looking for a B&B close to my sister's house in Harpers Ferry, and was overjoyed to find something available just steps away from her! The Carriage House had just what we needed to meet our basic needs of sleep & shower, and the room was nicely decorated with thoughtful extras.
Perfect for a solo getaway. Close to restaurants, shops, and the Appalachian Trail. Squeaky clean, comfy bed, and great communication with owners. Thanks for a great stay!
The cottage was exactly as described and better. Though the property was small, every need was met. The location was outstanding...just yards from the Appalachian Trail with stunning view of the Shanendoah River and accessible to upper and lower Harpers Ferry. I was on foot throughout my stay and found this site challenging yet ideal with access to the cottage's ridge location via neighborhood streets, trails, and hillside stairs,...all beautiful and filled with history. I hope to return again soon.
Space was small but we had everything we needed. Host responded quickly to a few requests we had. Enjoyed 2 different hikes from this location. Good restaurants nearby.
