Pretty historic house

We were delighted with the pretty old home, and all the historic details and antiques added to the atmosphere. This was a trip for four cousins and was perfect. The kitchen and bathrooms were well equipped for what we needed and the beds and sofa were comfortable. It was within walking distance of historic Harper’s Ferry so we didn’t worry about driving many times. We hiked, shopped and enjoyed the restaurants. The only comment we would make is there didn’t seem to be enough hot water for the shower and tub to be working at one time. Also, the wooden mantle upstairs was pretty unstable and fell over once when someone held onto it to go down the stairs. A nightstand or two by the double bed would have been useful too.Thank you for letting us share your cozy property!

Going Back in Time at the Union Street Carriage House

We had a delightful stay at the Union St. Carriage House during our trip to Harpers Ferry. The house was cozy and takes you back in time, providing the perfect environment to slow down and enjoy the wonders and beauty of West Virginia. The kitchen was nicely equipped with dishes, pots and pans for cooking small meals. If you do plan on cooking, we would advise ensuring there are either no leftovers, or that you have containers or storage bags for saving food (there was no plastic wrap, aluminum foil, or plastic bags for wrapping up food). The beds on the second floor were very comfortable and the rooms warm up quickly. The stairs to the second floor were definitely steep and took a day to somewhat master. The hosts of the Union St. Carriage House provided recommendations and a guidebook for their guests to ensure a pleasant stay. We wholeheartedly second their recommendation of eating at “The Press Room” – reservations are advisable. In addition to the cuisine at “The Press Room,” we immensely enjoyed the cuisine at “Yatai Hibachi,” a nearby food truck. One more note before you book your stay, the driveway is steep and a little tricky to back into or out of. If driving around Harpers Ferry, we would suggest having a higher riding vehicle to prevent scraping the car’s undercarriage, as some of the hills/grades in the town are rather steep.

Charming, clean, close to historic sites

This home is a true gem. We were able to make ourselves at home immediately. Our dog loved the outside space. It is very charming and super clean. A perfect blend of history and modern touches. Walking distance to the historic sites in Harper's Ferry and lots of restaurants. We will be staying again in the future.

Perfect place for the vibes of Harpers Ferry

This place is exactly what makes Vrbo the best option for accommodation. We had everything we needed and the place had so much character. The front balcony was such a joy to sit and read on in the morning with my cup of coffee. It’s so close to HF proper. My only complaint would be to myself for not staying longer.

Bolivar Carriage House

Enjoyed our stay at Union Street Carriage House in Bolivar, WV. Convenient to Harper's Ferry and other popular locations! Thoughtfully decorated that doesn't take away from the charm of the house, but still has modern convenience. Only down side was that the washing machine was not in operation at the time of our visit. Cathy and Bryan were prompt answering my questions.

Charming carriage quarters

We loved this wonderful house! Perfect for me, my husband, & little dog to escape drywall dust at our home. Very clean & comfortable! Loved the history of this home but updated enough to have everything u need. Wish we could have used the fire pit but it was raining. We would definitely stay here again!

We loved our time at the Union Street Carriage Quarters. It was a great retreat for a quiet New Year’s Eve. The space was decorated beautifully for the holiday; it made our time even more special. Can’t wait to plan another trip here in the future.

So cozy!

Everything was very accurate to the listing! Clean, cozy, good location, nice charm and owner clearly cared about details like decor and setting up a tree inside for Christmas! Would stay here again no doubt! Also it was a 3 min walk to a few good food places and 2 places to go out for a late drink - The Barn and this little coffee shop that turned into dinner + drinks at night.

Great place. Great Host.

Loved that place and area. The house feels like home being far away from home. The owners take great care in maintaining the house and paid a lot of attention to details and atmosphere. You can find small museums, cafe, bars and long trails about a mile away from the house. Highly recommend. Would love to come back 😊
