Home had great amenities. Large decks with grill and tables & chairs for meals and great water view and sunsets. Life preservers for all ages a great touch although it was too cool for us to use them.
Everything was perfect. We caught fish, crabs, turtles, jellyfish, lots of sun, rain and fun! Private perfect location. Its easy to find, close to campground and marina.

Cozy, warm, quiet weekend getaway place.

Not my dream getaway
I am a single mom of 4 who took my kids on our summer vacation somewhere different… It is definitely a private home which is located miles from anything. The water around the house we couldn’t swim in at all due to fishing wire, hooks and the jelly fish that were everywhere. I don’t know if I’m just not use to VA waters, but I had planned on swimming the whole time we were there and we didn’t get to. We also couldn’t buy a pass to swim at the campground nearby. We did fish for hours. The interior of the home is nice. It only has one tv which is in the living room. The recliner is broken and the furniture in general was not enough for all of us to sit together comfortably tho. For the cost of what I paid per night, I don’t think it was worth it for my family. But, the owner was super easy to talk to and responded quickly every time I had a question. I was aggravated feeling like the home was not well prepared tho with necessities like the first aid kit for example. It is completely empty so when my son cut his foot I used my own first aid kit. There was not extra paper products either which I was reimbursed for. I think I just expected more for the price and our vacation was planned mainly around the home.
We had an amazing time at the property, the views are beautiful. Even though there are neighbors it feels really private. We really enjoyed fishing from the private dock, which is a great feature. One suggestion would be to add lights outside do evening fishing now that the sun does down earlier. Would stay here again.
We had such a wonderful time in this amazing home with an amazing sunset view. Tina was such an amazing host! The home was clean and had all the necessities we needed during our one week stay. We enjoyed the use of kayaks, fishing poles, and the grill. Watching sunrise and sunsets in the amazing wrap-around deck was the highlight of each of our day. Would definitely stay there again.
This place is very nice and the process of booking was easy. The view is amazing. It is quiet and about 15 minutes to colonial beach which isn’t bad. Kimmies Bait and Tackle is nearby and they are super nice and helpful with all your fishing needs.
The property is right along the water. There is a large deck and boat dock that make it easy to enjoy being outside. All the rooms were well kept and 2 of them have bathrooms with their own bathrooms. It would be very easy for two couples to come stay here. The house is a little far away from stuff being on a peninsula, but if you go into knowing that it's really not a big deal. The hosts let you use the kayaks which is super cool. Neighbors next door are friendly to guests. The only reason I give it a 4/5 for cleanliness is because of the ants that we could not get rid of. They come in from the back door and cluster around the living room/kitchen transition. Would stay here again!
