The cabin is beautiful and located conveniently near a plethora of outdoor locations for activities. I chose this cabin to take my family on a Christmas getaway, where they could experience snow and make memories and I could not have made a better choice! 10/10 would book again.

Very well set up cabin in a peaceful place

The cabin had everything - the owners clearly stay here from time to time and hence it has everything a home needs. Very cleaned super comfortable beds. Markleeville also surprised us with a great restaurant, pub and other facilities.

Lovely space in beautiful setting!

My family and I went up mid week and stayed through the weekend during a storm early March. The owner is incredibly responsive and has very good knowledge of the area including local road crews, law enforcement, etc. Whoch made me much more comfortable driving up in the winter storm. Check in process was by far the easiest and most simple ever- great job on that! Home is spacious offering lots of room for active toddlers and offering lots of comforts for inactive teenagers. Bedrooms are large and very comfortable beds along with a beautiful fireplace and kitchen equipped with everything you may need! Hot tub is fabulous, especially after a day of sledding- which we did right at the house! Perfect side hill for sleds! The neighborhood is quite full of nice people offering a hello and quick conversation when you are on your walk. Town has an adorable general store that is stocked of organic and non organic produce, cheese, meats, desserts, wine and spices, books and Markleeville Swag! My family cannot wait to stay there again, great home, amenities & location!

GREAT find! Secluded yet close to town

Very nice and modern inside yet rustic outside. Surrounded by woods, quiet and peaceful. A mile to town and even shorter to the Hot Springs with beautiful, easy hike to some water falls. SO many things to see and do in the surrounding area's! We LOVED our stay here and the owners are extremely friendly and helpful. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Fishing trip getaway

The owner is very easy to communicate with and overall we had a good experience. Be aware that it is a steep driveway and during the winter only one of the two spaces in the drive is plowed.

Remote and Just Right

Feeling outdoors-y? If you've been to South Lake and ready for a more remote Tahoe experience, this is a cozy place that's not too remote. Markleeville has creature comforts, so don't worry if you forget some staple items. Grover Hot Springs is worth a visit and a hike to the waterfalls. The hot springs are fabulous, but reserve 2 days in advance online. Kirkwood is the best ski resort of the bunch, and it's just 35 minutes away. The house is great and has simple appliances that are easy to figure out. We enjoyed our stay and felt very comfortable.

Very considerate host, instant reply

What else do you expect from a host? Instant reply. The instruction book gives very clear notice and more important, concise! Extra sets of liners are labeled nicely. I think he is one of the top 3 hosts whose cabins I have been stayed! A few things needs to improve : there were lots of snow on deck, stairs and driveway. Not safe to use front door. And there is no extra set of keys. One night the power lost and garage door cannot been opened. But the host answered the phone immediately and luckily the power was back soon. Overall we had a good time. Will stay here again if possible.

Relaxing cabin in nice area

Our stay was nice. We were only there in the evenings as the fishing was our priority.

Everything was clean and comfortable for us. The stairs were somewhat of an issue but they always are for old guys like me.
