About this property

Peaceful Family Cabin

Our lake home is a cozy, year -round home set in a nice, peaceful location off a quiet dead-end tar road. It is surrounded by pine and oak trees, level with the shoreline with close views of the water and wildlife. You can easily see the water from the large furnished deck. The water flows from ankle deep with a gradual slope.
Little Norway Lake is on a chain of lakes including Norway, West Norway and Games Lake. The lake is known for its fishing and beautiful sunsets. Fish for walleyes, northern, sunnies and crappies. Just around the corner you have access to a new walking/biking trail which takes you to County Park 7 or Sibley State Park!
With the rental comes the use of a paddle boat, canoes and kayaks. Along with your dock, you may use the boat lift for your boat. Included is a propane grill, and a few yard games. Enjoy a campfire by the water's edge.
This is intended for a single family unit. Additional rates apply for more families. There is a washer and dryer on site. The cabin is generally quite cool. For those hot summer days, there is a window AC unit in the loft. The cabin is located approximately 13 miles north of Willmar where there is ample shopping and New London has cute shops, great restaurants and the Little Crow Golf course.
The kitchen is fully stocked with the essentials. There are some bath towels available, however, you may want to bring more. There are 4 queen sized beds. Bring your own linens. There is also wifi at the cabin.

Quiet cabin on the lake

We were very impressed with our stay at the cabin. Everything was cleaned nicely upon arrival. A sweet welcome S’mores basket was place by the front door. Everything was correctly listed in the description of the cabin. Overall a great stay. Would definitely recommend to someone else.

Great time!

Perfect cabin for a family getaway! The cabin and deck was cozy but very spacious. Great view of the lake while enjoying your morning coffee and also games incase it rains. We stayed over the 4th and there was fireworks every night along with a boat parade. We had such a blast even though we didn’t get any fish.

Labor Day weekend getaway

This was the perfect end of summer retreat for our family. We were concerned that it would be warm as the temps were in the 90s all weekend but the cabin stayed cool the entire time!

Family Lake Cabin Weekend

Great out-door space! Spacious with a firepit and a couple of kayaks and a canoe--life jackets were included. Very large deck and room for yard games (just ladder ball provided). In-door suffered a bit. The place hadn't appeared to be very well cleaned and their expectations were unreasonable. If we're expected to bring our own linens, do laundry, and clean and sweep everything before we leave, paying a cleaning fee leaves a sour taste in my mouth. Most of the place hasn't been updated in a very long time and there's a fair amount of DIY work. The board games were missing pieces as well. Other than that, the kitchen was well-stocked and they had a few complimentary things as well.

Had much better

Bathroom sink drains in a trickle, bees nest in roof above deck, beds had no sheets on them, grill propane tank was empty, dryer was stuffed full of rugs, towels and a comforter all still damp so I had to rewash, dry, fold & put away. Bathroom dangerous with step in middle of room. Closet door in bedroom next to kitchen broken. Cleaned, put folded sheets on beds, locked all doors except front door- was unlocked when we got there

Lovely sunsets on nice little lake

Nice location with beautiful sunsets. Enjoyed visiting nearby state parks. Friendly and quiet neighborhood. Would have hoped for a hose to let us clean out the kayaks and canoe so we could paddle the lake. Rented a pontoon instead. Water was low but we spent a good day in the sun.

Family get together

Turned out overall good, our out of town siblings meet with our families to spend a few days together. Over all the place was peaceful and the lake was awesome to boat on with our boat in which we brought with. Excellent private bedrooms for several people to stay. However the bedding sheets we not clear in the descirption weather to bring your own or not. We did bring our own sheets so it worked out fine. We also brouight our own bath towels. Concerns were talked of the bathroom needing to be updated with a functioning shower. The entire layout of the house was very nice and the pattio was large and relaxing in the mornings and evenings. The kitchen was functioning and worked out fine for us, but again concerns for future stay about the stove not having a operating oven. We did enjoy the peaceful walks down the road and most of all enjoyed our family and going boating on the awesome Norway Lake. Was able to access the boat in the water through a public access within a few miles from the place. We look forward to staying again, and hope things that might need to be updated will be addressed for our next stay! Great place to bring your well trained pet as well. We also enjoyed visiting the Sibley state park!

Overpriced

Would be ok, but misrepresented online and overpriced. Pros: - Great lot - Kayaks to use Cons: - Didnt know which house it was (driveway is shared by 3 cabins, house was painted, and no house number) - Werent given instructions how to get into the house and had to contact them - no 'welcome booklet' or anything laid out upon arrival - Beds were made without any shets on them - Smells musty and old in the cabin - No a/c and dehumidifiers were full upon arrival - fridge had 1 twinkie and a box leftovers in it - water smells like rotten eggs and hard water stains everywhere - Shower is super small! - old stove in island doesnt work and isnt removed, so they just added another stove?! - and whats up with the firepit - they had a game ladderball but were missing a set of golf balls (we made you another set)

Not recommended

Pros: Outdoor atmosphere…location, view, fishing, kayaking; Indoors….roomy, internet access, main floor bed was comfy. Cons: Quality of upkeep…screen on sliding door kept falling off, if you attempt to open curtains the rods fall down ~ too short of rods held together by maybe 1 cm overlap, blinds not working so couldn’t close for privacy, bathroom safety issue with a rug covering up a large drain with loose fitting cover ~ it kept shifting and could easily cause an accident, sink drain came apart and fortunately husband was able to fix so sink would drain, bedroom closet door kept coming off the track, hot water smelled horribly not aware of prior. These were some of the things that could have been remedied to make property worth the rental fee. Note: not an easy fix, but exists as a safety issue are the steep stairs that start immediately upon walking inside the door. You need to descend them to get to the main floor or ascend in the opposite direction to reach the upstairs. Description said to bring your own linens…learned there are linens~ you are required to wash them prior to leaving (yet there is a cleaning charge). No mention of washing the top bedding so we brought our own. Communication: Had to persist asking for info on how to get into property. Water heater broke during a storm so we left early. Host refused to refund saying they couldn’t control weather and couldn’t fill our spot immediately; would they rent the next day without fixing? Disappointing experience.
