Walking down the path from the parking area you will see the confluence of Canyon Creek and the Washougal River and cabin nestled amongst cedar trees where you will be staying. The cabin was originally built in the 1920's as a vacation home for a predominate Portland Judge. A century later and the spirit of this escape is alive and well with a full remodel providing modern amenities in a beautiful and rustic setting.

We fully enjoyed the beautiful natural setting and the gentle sounds of waterfalls filling the cabin during our Thanksgiving get-away. It felt like we were a world away from our everyday lives in larger cities. We had everything we needed for cellebrating the holiday with family. The host was very responsive and helpful.
The property and cabin were amazing. Everything was cleaned and well stocked. The property was serene and relaxing. The river was so fun to play in. Thanks for sharing with us!
The house is in an absolutely gorgeous spot with water all around! I would describe house as updated rustic. If it matters with the ages/makeup of your group, one of the bedrooms is in an unattached structure. Beds/linens were comfortable. We couldn’t get the hot tub to fill but other than that everything was in good working order. Little drive (15 min or so) to town with restaurants. If you’re a family that likes to watch TV or movies together, be aware that the big TV is inside one of the bedrooms rather than out in the living area. Beautiful home! Thank you!
What a wonderful and unique experience! The river, waterfalls, mossy trees, and the sound of water all around us was heavenly! The house was well appointed and everything we needed for a family of 5. We would definitely stay here again! Thank you for an amazing experience!
To walk down the path to the house at night along the beautifully lit path and hear the water cascading over the waterfall is the perfect introduction to an enchanting vacation. The inside of the house is just as fun and restful. So much time and effort has been taken to provide everything I wanted for a Thanksgiving in Washougal visiting my daughter and grandchildren.
Healing waters, stunning green valley, sweet cabin
This is a magical fairy land. Jaw dropping. It is your own private waterfall(s). We spent many hours simply listening to and gazing at the falling Waters. (And yes, plunging into the frigid waters). Surrounded by old growth 500-year-old trees and mossy branches. Native blooms everywhere. An old-fashioned grill, back dropped by a waterfall .
Mental health break for all.
It seems silly given the one-of-kind location to address the cabin, but it is equally stunning. Though it was built 100 yrs ago, it has been completely rehabbed. Owner (a friendly chill local guy) spent a few years at Ralph Lauren, And it shows. Tasteful subtle Pacific Northwest style. High ceilings, rough hewn beams. All new,high-end quiet appliances (Bosch, etc). Inverters in each room for personal coziness. Mattresses better than our home Tempur-pedics. Yes, a wooden fruit bowl! A vase. Detailed stuff often missing at rentals. Full spice cabinet.
I will remember this sweet cabin in this little waterfall valley forever in my dreams. A green, dear perpetual place that will restore your soul.

Why they chose this property
Few places have this amount of serenity and beauty and proximity to metropolitan area like Portland. Nestled on 4.5 acres and mere feet from a year round creek with three human sized waterfalls on one size and the beautiful Washougal River on the other. With a large living room centered around a wood fire place and multiple areas to curl up and read a book, the Lodge is an amazing place to escape to year around.
What makes this property unique
With it's own private beach, three waterfalls to swim in, an outdoor BBQ and fire area and a wood burning hot tub, the lodge is an amazing place to escape to in the beautiful Pacific North West Summer. The lodge itself was built in the 1920's as an escape for a Portland Judge. On the outside, the lodge looks largely like it did 100 years ago, but on the inside, it has been renovated with modern heating cooling, a state of the art kitchen and cooking area. Around the central wood burning fireplace, your family and friends will gather and enjoy the beautiful views of the near by stream and bend in the Washougal River.
