About this property

Private Hot Tub, Ski-In close, Walk to lifts, Snake River Front, 3BR/3BA

(For availability purposes please leave an inquiry before making a booking request )
3-5 minute walk to Mountain House Lifts, Ski Schools, Ski Rentals. Private and secluded outdoor hot tub facing the Snake River (not the busy Keystone Rd.) Private garage parking and driveway.

Our 1834 sqft 'Blue Coyote' townhouse is named after Keystone's infamous wolf-like Blue Coyote that roams the wetlands around the Snake River. It is a short 5-minute walk from your door to the Mountain House Lifts, but best of all, when you're the most tired, it is ski-in to the road in front of the Ironwood complex. A 35-yard walk to our private single car garage through some evergreen trees gets you to a place to rest your tired feet.

Little Red Riding Hood can walk directly to the Mountain House base that is just 220 yards or a 5-minute walk through a skier parking lot to the Mountain House Base. Keystone provides red wagons to carry your kids and/or equipment to make that short trip extra easy. The Green Line Bus stops at the entrance of Ironwood Townhouses. Keystone Ski School, rentals and dinning can all be found at the lower Mountain House Base area. The Mountain House Base ski lifts are far less crowded than the River Run gondola. It is a wonderful secrete to keep quiet!

'What big eyes you have...the better to see you with, my dear.' Staying home in the Blue Coyote is a cozy joy with soaring windows and vaulted ceilings that overlook enchanting Snake River and Tenderfoot Mountain vistas. You are steps from Schoolmarm; the longest (3.1 miles) Green Run in North America. You are so near Schoolmarm that you can detour off between Sage Brush, click off your skis and walk across the street to Ironwood. In fact, you can gaze at the Schoolmarm lighted run from the master bed. If you are wearing a bright red hood, you can be seen skiing down the mountain from the Ironwood Townhouses complex!

'What big ears you have...the better to hear you with, my dear.'
The sounds of the Snake River rushing by can be heard from nearly every room. The Snake runs about 20 yards from our back deck. Ironwood is a 14-unit, quiet townhouse complex that feels delightfully secluded despite the fact it is so close to both the Mountain House and River Run amenities.

'What big Hands You Have...the better to rub together in front of the fire, my dear.' Blue Coyote's guests can sit fireside on nippy nights. Or, guests can choose to take a dip in the private 6-8 person-hot tub to warm up under the falling snow and glistening stars. On a clear night, guests sitting in the hot tub look up to see Ursula Minor (The Little Dipper). The private hot tub is located on the back deck overlooking the Snake River. The hot tub is extraordinarily secluded.

'What big teeth you have...the better to eat you with, my dear.' The Blue Coyote's kitchen is well-equipped with everything from Flour to a Fondue pot. A 5-burner gas range and an outdoor grill make cooking a delight. However, some may rather eat at the world-acclaimed Keystone restaurants, like Alpenglow Stube, The Ranch, Snake River Saloon, Der Fondue Chessel or The Ski Tip Lodge. Our fondest memories are hiking/snow shoeing to a yurt at the Tennessee Pass Cookhouse at Ski Cooper near Leadville (Reservations necessary). Our favorite pizza joint, Pizza 101, is pickup or delivery only and is within walking/biking distance. Each restaurant is a special and memorable experience.

Absolutely perfect!
Our family felt like we were at home. It was very cozy with room for our family to spread out. We cooked every dinner at home and enjoyed the hot tub afterwards. What we loved most was how close it is to the Peru Express lift. It was truly a wonderful experience. Thank you for opening your home to us.

Great Keystone Weekend Stay
We had a great experience at this rental. We were able to walk across a parking lot and right onto the mountain where the Peru lift is. Everything was great, but did want to mention 2 things the owner should be aware of.1) There seems to be open flus on top of the roof (above the main floor King room). It was a little windy one night and the metal flus flapped all night long against the roof, making it impossible to sleep. :-(2) Plumbing should be checked. We had several toilets overflow when people had only done #1. The flushing (specially in the 3rd floor Master) seemed very odd and it took awhile to flush every time.Besides that, everything was great!!

Grandkids had a ball!
Our daughter, son-in-law and three grandchildren joined us for a ski vacation. The townhome was the perfect size, allowed all of us to retreat to our quiet corners or gather for meals and games. The kids loved their bunkbeds and their own private TV viewing room. There were lots of board games for the kids to enjoy. And we all enjoyed sitting in the hot tub watching the snow flakes fall.

Nice condo with easy walk to lifts and private hot tub
Kitchen was nicely equipped. Heated garage is a plus. Great for families or 3 couples with each room having its own level and bathroom. Couch and chairs in main level were uncomfortable and old. Radiant heat kick plates were falling off. Dishwasher doesn't clean dishes completely. All food has to be completely rinsed off first. Sliding glass door to hot tub is very hard to slide open and close. Overall it is a nice property; overpriced.

Nice Mountain stay
House is nice and roomy. Beds were comfortable. Plenty of parking. You will not be able to park a large car except a compact car in the garage but it is nice to have a place to store ski gear. The kids enjoyed the hot tub and it was nice that it was just right outside the door. Convenient to have washer and dryer right in the house. The location was ok but not as close to the center of town as I would have liked. Be aware that there lots of stairs so if you have elderly people or small children with you, you may look at different options. Carpet needs replaced soon and some of the comforters were stained but overall clean. The owner and managing company were easy to communicate with.

Two Family Ski Trip
The space was a perfect fit for our two families. The kids used the four bunk beds and full bathroom on the lower level, one set of parents used the king bedroom and full bathroom on the main level and the other set of parents used the upper level king bedroom and ensuite bathroom. We cooked breakfast in the kitchen every morning that was stocked with a nice assortment of basic pantry items, knives, cookware, and dinnerware. The hot tub on the deck off the lower level with views of the creek and hills behind was also lovely to relax in after a day of skiing. The proximity to Keystone was a definite positive. The short walk through the parking lot across the street to put our skis on and ski over to the Peru Express chairlift made it easy for our group to begin and end the day skiing at their own pace.

Great location !
We had a wonderful time spending Easter weekend at this home. It was in a perfect location close to the gondola and other lift chairs, all walking distance. The hot tub was a plus we all enjoyed it! The views from the home are beautiful of the mountains, great layout for a family of two with kids. Having a garage was a plus and communication with the owner was also great! Will definitely think about staying here again next time we visit Keystone.

We love the solitude, low population and peacefulness all around Keystone. Keystone offers world class golf, hiking, cross country skiing, mountain and road biking trails, and of course downhill skiing. We are two business professors that love the outdoors and particularly Colorado. Our puppies have made peace with the many animals in the forests and wetlands around Keystone. We have met the Blue Coyote on two memorable occasions. He is not just a storied beast...he is REAL.

Why they chose this property

This property fits us perfectly year around. It's big enough to live in year round without being crowded. The convenience to the ski mountain is perfect. The Snake River can be heard from almost every room. The bike path is right outside our door! It is our peace.

What makes this property unique

Our hot tub is truly divine because it is private and it faces out toward the Snake River. Surprisingly, in the 25+ years of skiing in CO, we rarely venture out to ski Breckenridge or Vail because it's just too easy to walk out our door to the lifts at Mountain House Base in Keystone. It's pretty great to come in for lunch and take a quick nap before skiing the afternoon away.
