Love the beaches of the Eastern Shore but also want some peace and quiet? This 2-story, 4 bedroom, 2.5 bath house is a perfect family-friendly getaway near Ocean City, Fenwick, and Assateague Island with over 3,000 square feet to relax. Your neighbors are horses, foxes, a pair of bald eagles, plenty of blue herons, turtles, and bunnies.

THE HOUSE
Light and airy family vacation home with plenty of options to spread out in the eat-in kitchen, family room, living room, and bonus room on the first floor. Four large bedrooms on the second floor--three with queen beds, one with a king. Four outdoor sitting spaces: An outdoor deck with a grill and picnic table, screened-in porch, a fire pit, and a covered front porch.

Excellent stay
We were in the Ocean City/Salisbury area for a week long softball tournament. The house was conveniently located to both locations. Very clean, spacious, great backyard. Kids and adults loved it alike. Owner very quick to respond in correspondence. Highly recommend!

Peaceful Getaway
This quiet property let us be away from it all while remaining close to local beaches. Ideal for all ages, the house was equipped with toys, beds, dishes, and play set for our toddler while also offering a screened porch, beach comfort items and well-stocked kitchen for adults. Responses from the owner were prompt throughout the reservation process and happily unnecessary once we reached the property as everything was as described and in working order.

Great vacation rental!!
It looked exactly as the pictures showed it better. In fact, there was multiple small details that just continue to show themselves throughout our stay, and it was fascinating to see some of the artwork that the walls displayed one of my personal interests, but everything was an excellent condition. The homeowner was very easy to contact for any questions or problems and quick to respond. Definitely would love to come back :-) I would recommend this for any family or any couple the environment is quiet but close access to all kinds of fun things to do beach included.

Five Stars and Memorable
This immaculate home is nestled in a quiet cul de sac, a short drive to Maryland Beaches. The sound of roosters in the morning and crickets at night add to the peaceful vibe. The neighbor has a beautiful horse and adorable donkey that you may be lucky to see from a distance during the day. The fenced in yard was perfect for our Autistic son, with room to run and play, plenty of beautiful trees, a sandbox, swings and raised playhouse. It was wonderful to see him explore. All areas of the home were inviting and beautifully furnished with a mix of modern amenities and vintage charm. Historical gems sprinkled throughout this comfortable and well laid out home and something to enjoy for every age. The mezuzahs gave a comforting sense of a peaceful respite and were appreciated. There are two (2) full bathrooms upstairs and a half bath on the first floor, there is also a built-in potty training/children's seat in the first-floor bath, absolute genius. There are games and toys and a large lego table for play. A fully equipped workstation, which I banned myself from using, however, it would have been perfect if I needed to remote in. There are four (4) bedrooms, all unique and in my opinion, perfectly appointed. The fourth bedroom with a toddler bed was perfect for my son and me. However, the full/queen bed within this room is quite uncomfortable and could use a nice foam topper. All the additional beds in the remaining three bedrooms were comfortable and pleasant.

An Enchanting Stay
My partner and I decided to book this gorgeous home very close to where our family lives (Ocean Pines) so we were able to visit with them but have our own privacy— which we had plenty of at this beautiful home! The backyard is spacious but also features mature, beautiful trees. I personally adored the giant butterfly bushes. Each morning, we enjoyed our coffee on the screened in porch around back while watching the butterflies dance. In the evening, we sat by the fire where the fire pit is located, to the side of the house but also very private. Another bonus was the gorgeous location where we enjoyed walking and driving around to look at the scenery and homes. The home is filled with books, eclectic artwork, puzzles and personal touches. We had a very relaxing time chipping away at the Harry Potter puzzle! The only difference in the photos is a few updates pieces of artwork to check out, and we both agreed that the photos don’t do the property justice! If you want privacy, peace and QUIET— this is the place for you! One last note: Rokas was wonderfully accommodating, respectful and responsive. We can’t thank you enough!

We had a fantastic stay here. The house is on a quiet cul de sac with a great yard for the kids to play in. The home is also convenient to many lovely beaches and things to do. We would certainly stay again.

Perfect Long Weekend
A long weekend of beach and baseball, the house was perfect for our trip. Far enough away from the chaos but close enough for a nice trip to the beach. We played a baseball tournament in Salisbury and enjoyed the short drive both ways. The house is in perfect condition and all of the amenities. Would definitely choose again!

Great overall minus one big issue
The house was very pleasant overall, but there was a sewage smell that emanated from all water sources, even after running for a few minutes. This made bathing and doing dishes very unpleasant. Given that it is unavoidable when staying for 3 days, that's a big negative. My housemate believes it may have been a bacterial growth problem in the pipes and resulted in her getting sick by the last day running a small fever and sore throat. (She took a Covid test before and after the trip, both were negative). A day later and she is feeling much better. Hopefully this review can help this be resolved for future guests.

Wonderful and relaxing property
My wife and I were looking for a relaxing getaway with our daughters, and this property fit that description. The home was very clean, the owner very responsive and accommodating, and the location was perfect for us. The home is far enough away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, but close enough that you could be at stores or the beach with just a short drive. The home was great for our daughters, especially our youngest. The playroom had everything she loves, with a play kitchen, a store set-up, legos, and more. The screened porch was the perfect spot to relax and watch the girls play in the yard. The playset with the swings and sliding board, the multiple other swings around the yard, and the sandbox kept the kids busy and outside away from phones and TV's. We also made good use of the fire pit area on a few of the cooler days and did some campfire cooking. In the evenings you can keep an eye out for the deer and the occasional fox in the field across the road, and the neighbor's horse and donkey also made a few visits with us near the fence. All in all, a very good stay. The only words of caution would be to make sure you bring drinking water, and if you go in the spring be prepared for LOTS of pollen. I have a feeling we hit about the worst week for the pollen, but that is the case with a lot of areas during the spring break time of year.

Almost don't want to be honest about this review, so I can keep this gem a secret....but....this property is THE BEST child friendly rental ever!!!!! As you read from the other reviews, they weren't exaggerating anything. Just far enough from the busy bustle of the usual ocean city area. The kids were never bored, alwys finding somehting new to explore. They really did think of everything. The owners were beyond accommodating and a such a pleasure to rent from. Thank you so much for your hospitality!! We hope make it a yearly tradition❤️!

A beautiful little getaway...
Very beautiful and clean home away from the beach crowds that we thoroughly enjoyed. My two kids and my friend's kid really loved the kids-aspect of the home with plenty of toys, potty seats, kids stools, and plates/utensils. One thing to note (which was in the listing) was to ensure to bring your own bedsheets and fitted sheets. Also, the host mentioned to us that house is on well water so be aware of some slight smells, but wasn't too terrible. The host provided jugs and bottles of mineral water which was really nice.

Great family-friendly house!
I stayed here with my family (husband, 4 year old, and 1 year old) and my sister and brother in law. The house was very clean and extremely family friendly. My kids had a blast with the toys in the playroom and the children’s room upstairs was perfect for them. My 4 year old was very impressed (and I was too) that there was a step stool in all the bathrooms other than the master, and there was even a toddler seat in the bathroom downstairs. All of the adults loved the house too- it is very inviting and has everything you need to enjoy your stay. My only criticism is that I don’t love having to provide our own towels and linens but that was evident in the listing so we knew we would need to. Other than that, no complaints. We felt very comfortable here and would absolutely stay again in the future!

PERFECT
I want these people to come to my home and decorate for me! This house is beautiful, with all the comforts of home. The master bed was VERY comfortable. You need to bring your own sheets. We don't own a King bed, so that was a challenge. We ended up using two queen flat sheets sideways for the bottom sheet, and same for the top sheet. It worked fine. Our daughter used the sunshine room and was very comfortable. We didn't use the outdoor spaces due to spending so much time outside for softball tournaments. We enjoyed having a comfortable, air-conditioned space in which to relax. But the yard is huge and beautiful! And we loved looking at the horse and donkey on the neighbor property as we drove past each day. The bushes outside the kitchen windows had dozens of beautiful butterflies fluttering about. The back porch was a lovely place to read early in the morning before it got too hot outside. The quiet country setting was serene. The kitchen is supplied with all we needed to make our breakfasts and dinners when we weren't eating out. The only thing I might add is an electric tea pot for non-coffee drinkers. Loved that the stove is gas! Berlin is a great little town with many restaurants and shops! Much preferred that to the crowds in OC. Food Lion very close in either Berlin or up 113 in Delaware. We didn't go to the beach, so we didn't end up needing the beach towels, etc., but it was great that they were available. We did go to Assateague Island for a day. The passes you purchase are good for a whole week, so go early in your stay. If we'd have known, we might have returned to do some kayaking or canoeing another day. The washer and dryer were invaluable to us as we had softball uniforms to keep clean during the week! The kitchen, office and master bedroom have phone chargers available which is great! They provided things like dish soap, laundry detergent (though we had our own) and shampoos/soaps for showers (also had our own). There were things like foil and plastic available in the kitchen which were appreciated. Netflix and Prime were available for movies in the evening. Owners were VERY responsive and great communicators. There was a plumbing issue before we arrived which they took care of quickly and offered to compensate us for our one-day inconvenience. They respond very quickly with any questions. We would stay again without hesitation!

Family weekend getaway
We had a great time at the Blue Heron house. My sons (6 and 8) walked in and thought it was a mansion. They loved the play room and kids bedroom. I loved the quietness of the neighborhood and the convenience of getting to the beach and boardwalk when we wanted to go out. Rokas responded so quickly when I had a question. The girls even thought the outside shower was cool. We would definitely visit again. It was our first visit to the area and we will be back.

Deserving of more than 5 stars! Had everything we needed and more. Didn’t want to leave!
When we found this home it was a brand new listing so we were very hesitant to book, but the location was perfect for travel between Salisbury & OC, the house was beautiful, & the price was great so we took a chance —we could not have gotten any luckier. The house is even more gorgeous in person & the space is outstanding (we had six stay very comfortably). The original listing had one king, two queens, & a toddler bed, but we reached out to the owners to see if there was an option for our eldest daughter, & they were willing to put a twin in the kids’ room so she had her own bed. This setup is exactly what our girls have at home so it made staying away from their own room SO much easier. The master bed & bath were phenomenal, the two queen rooms are beautiful (we personally LOVED the red room’s kitty decor), & the kids’ room was perfect. All of the beds were extremely comfortable, the bathrooms were spotless and spacious, the central A/C was simple & wonderful, the living areas were so roomy & beautiful, the kitchen was big, bright, and clean, the outdoor living areas were perfect, & an odd detail…but the pillows throughout the house were the best we’ve ever found in any hotel or rental property. Our trips to the beach were made so much simpler with the use of the chairs & cart in the front closet. We didn’t have to load & unload our big, clunky wagon from home (& with three kids we dragged a LOT back and forth). And the outdoor shower & hose made cleaning sand off of everything a breeze. As for our children, we took a big risk in not bringing any toys from home after seeing the photos of the playroom/office, & I’m SO glad we didn’t go through the hassle. The house had absolutely everything they could have wanted & then some. They spent their mornings shopping & cooking on the toy grocery store & kitchen sets & their evenings building block forts or playing board games. They truly had the best time. We also found little touches around the house like built in toddler toilet seats, step stools in the bathrooms, & even all of the more “girly” child utensils & dinnerware left where it was easily accessible, which was so nice. The owners made us feel like they’d specifically set up for us & our children. Unfortunately I’m limited in character count, but I cannot say enough good things about this property and the owners. Our stay was WAY too short, & if I had the option I’d never have left. Beautiful home, beautiful area, & a wonderful vacation!
