About this property

Artistic Loft, Terrace with a spectacular view of Trastevere!

A real love nest!

Artistic Loft with terrace on the ancient Roman rooftops!

This spectacular, authentic artist studio has one of the best views in Trastevere. The apartment is ideal for couples who really want to spend the most romantic nights above the rooftops of ancient Trastevere.

The penthouse is very bright and cozy.

It’s located on the fourth floor of an old building (no elevator) in a very nice area of Trastevere.

It comprise of a large living room with a queen size bed, two comfortable armchairs, a dining table, a spacious terrace with dining table, a comfortable outdoor sofa and sun loungers, a fully equipped kitchenette, a comfy entrance area, a modest bathroom, complete with toilet, sink, bidet and shower

(warm water is produced by an electric water heater that contains 80 liters of hot water.)

Complete with sheets, towels, kitchen utensils, pots and pans, dishes, cups and glasses, crockery, moka, kettle, toaster, microwave, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, satellite TV with international channels, WiFi internet, heating and air conditioning.

Located in a romantic area of Trastevere, next to Piazza Santa Cecilia.

The apartment is a short walk to all the main attractions.

It is only 3 to 20 minutes walk from all the famous squares and monuments: 10 minutes from the Roman Forum and Campo de Fiori (only 600 meters away). In about 15 -20 minutes walk you can reach Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, Colosseum, Trevi Fountain and St. Peter's Basilica.

The apartment is only 200 meters from the bus stop and not far from the metro (1200 meters) (which you don't need to use because you can walk or take a short bus ride to get to all the tourist locations).

Nice bars, a bakery & grocery store, and fabulous restaurants are right next to the building.

The location is the best you could wish for!

Just wonderful

Incredible apartment with beautiful views and a lovely sun trap balcony. Everything you need on your doorstep, including a bakery and coffee shop, with all tourist sights easily walkable within 20mins. Luca and Roberta were easily contactable and more than happy to help if needed. Highly recommended, can't wait to come back!

Amazing nest in the Trastevere overlooking Rome.

The view is just what it promises. The aptly named artist loft is both those, decorated with very unique, provocative pieces. Luca and Roberta were very helpful and responsive. The apartment is right in the center of 7 little restaurants and a little store/deli across the street. After the heat of the day subsides the terrace is a beautiful place to lounge, dine, take in the vista and listen to the sound of the birds and the restaurants below(and the bells). (PS the a/c worked well to provide an afternoon respite). First off there is the stairs, so we did feel after a day of walking and taking groceries(use Maps to locate the stores) up, that the apartment and terrace afforded more than most restaurants could, so that is where we stayed and loved our evenings. The location was perfect, coupling the residential Trastavere with the proximity of the city across the Tiber. We were able to walk everywhere, taking advantage of the suprisingly (at least in June) under-used water bus which left from the Trastevere side of the Isola Tiberina to meander along the river to St Peters. A one-day, hop-on-off bought the first afternoon actually allowed us a full day the next. Able to reach the Pantheon, Colliseum (buy ticket at Pantheon first) and St Peters first. Then Parthenon, Trevi fountains and Spanish steps the second. Hectic, but we only had three days and the apartment was the perfect base for our visit. We were never able to complete a purchase for museums via the Italian website and could not face another line(queue). Perhaps we could have with better planning, bought tickets at offices elsewhere. Definitely recommended.

Great Location & Value

My wife and I stayed in Luca's apartment for 5 nights in June 2014. (Apologies for the late review Luca). The apartment is small, but very comfortable and well appointed. Remember when in Rome... The terrace is amazing - the ideal spot for aperitivos and late night drinks. The area is fantastic. A great location from which to explore Rome - especially the Trastevere and Testaccio areas. Perfect ..

What an amazing find this little apartment was .. My wife and I (both 36)had been to Rome before and loved the trastevere area most. We decided to return and try renting instead of hotels. This flat is perfect, it's situated in a gorgeous street with superb breakfast bar just below the property along with two other bars and shops close by. Very clean with everything you need for your city break. The outside space is bliss to relax after a day of walking and eating with the friendly locals. My wife is 7 months pregnant so the stairs were a little tough but nothing she couldn't handle . We were both looked after superbly by Luca and Rosie and we would highly recommend them for your authentic Roman break... Can't wait to return. Thanks Luca & Rosie

The perfect place to make Rome your home!

Everything was accurate, clean and as we expected it. We enjoyed every minute and feel like we should come back soon. There are still a lot of small restaurants and bars to discover and a lot of sunsets over Trastevere to welcome with a glass of prosecco on the little terrace.

Very Positive Experience - Highly Recommended

My wife and I chose to rent an apartment in Rome for two reasons; 1) the value 2) to immerse ourselves in the city. Hotels are often in areas that cater to tourists (such as the Via Veneto area) whereas this apartment is located in the heart of vibrant active community. Though that doesn't mean it's missing any amenities. We stayed at Luca's apartment on a first hand recommendation from friends. Unlike Air BnB, Luca's place is rented full time so you don't feel like you're intruding in someone else's place. We did not have the pleasure of meeting Luca in person, but did not need to. His assistant met us at the apartment (a little late which was awkward because the street is tiny and we had to stand there with our large bags dodging traffic) and got us checked in a oriented to the apartment. The apartment itself has everything a good home base needs; the tap water is delicious, nice assortment of plates and silverware, fridge was cold, air conditioning works, and most importantly it was clean. General Notes/Tips - It's at the top of 5 flights of tight stairs, if you're not in good shape it may be tough - Yes the bathroom is small, but you're in Europe that just how it is - The deck is amazing - The two cafes downstairs are excellent - Plenty of great restaurants in the immediate vicinity - Convenient cab stand not too far away - You need to pay in cash, for those needing to procure Euro's I found the most cost effective way to be the ATM at the airport. Bank's differ on fees but mine merely charged a $5 foreign ATM fee, which was much much cheaper than trying to exchange money at a kiosk - Set up transportation to and from the airport through Luca, the 50 euro charge is comparable to a cab. (note - the driver may be different on the return trip) - Bed is firm (two twins put together) which I found comfortable - Street noise can be loud at night but it's a testament to the lively neighborhood - Being in a foreign place can be intimidating at first, but I quickly became very comfortable navigating the neighborhood and found it safe - The location itself is south of the main touristy attractions but we walked everywhere. It's about a 20-25 minute walk from the Colosseum, Pantheon, Piazza Novona, etc. Overall: Highly recommended, would stay their again

Romantic stay in Rome

The apartment is really very beautiful and romantic and the terrace is absolutely wonderful - the perfect place to relax after a long walk through the streets iof Rome. Most of the intersting places in the city can be reached within 15-20 minutes walk. We especially enjoyed the Capitol with the great Museum, the Campo di Fiori and of course the Trastevere neighbourhood. We really can recommend this property!

characterful apartment excellent location

this apartment is in an excellent part of Trastevere - being a few minutes walk away from the crowded with tourists part of the area. Bit more natural and full of character. The apartment itself is very spacious and also full of character. Perhaps the owner, "out of season" uses it as his studio? Only improvement could have been a tea towel for drying up! Also we were met right on time to be shown around, which is not always the case in Rome. Thoroughly recommended.

Bright and Airy, comfortable, quiet in the evening

The apartment was exactly as described; the photos are accurate. The property was clean and had lots of light through the massive windows onto the deck. The huge windows and balcony make this apartment very appealing. We spent most days out, the #8 tram stops nearby and ends at the Vittorio Emmanuel II monument (the wedding cake). From there you can walk most of ancient Roma easily. It was difficult finding the apartment initially, though that is often true in a new environment. The apartment is well furnished. There is enough surface space for camera, PC, laptop, charging, maps, etc. We had no need for the AC, but kept the door to the private patio partially open. In late May that's all that was necessary. The bed is firm, and that is how we like it! The bathroom is small, but this is Italy after all.. In the immediate vicinity of the apartment there is an early morning coffee shop (locals mostly), a small restaurant with outside seating, and two trattorias that open evenings (hidden behind garage style doors) that are quite good. It is quiet in this neighborhood evenings. We enjoyed coming back to the deck and relaxing outside after a day in the city before heading out for the evening. The small local coffee shop surprised me by placing my "to go" cappuccinos and croissants on a tray for my walk upstairs. The barista said, "just bring them back when you're done" in Italian (or something like that). There is also a very popular trattoria on the main street that we wanted to visit, but never did. You can't miss it if you take the #8 tram in the evenings. I would recommend Luca's apartment to friends visiting Rome.

View from the patio is wonderful

The patio was amazing. My husband and I could spend hours sipping wine, watching the light change over the tops of the ancient buildings all around us. There were birds everywhere, and a birds-eye view over Trastevere to boot. The apartment was well equipped and in truly excellent location. Two small downsides for us - the bed was very firm, and the bathroom was in need of modernization.

Wonderful Apartment

We loved this place; especially the sun lit bedroom that opens onto an amazing terrace in the best part of Trastevere. We got lost in the cobble stone streets and found great restaurants and espresso bars where locals dine. We walked every where and came home each night to this lovely space filled with Luca's art. Luca is a great host; he helped us find another property when we had friends join us for the weekend. I highly recommend this romantic apartment. Rob

A LITTLE GEM IN TRASTEVERE

Two years ago we felt very lucky having found this lovely "artistic loft" at a very attractive spot in colorful Trastevere - and enjoyed so much staying there, that we decided to book it again at our next trip to Rome - which we made this September - and we certainly didn't regret it! Our first experience was fully confirmed! The apartment is located in a very charming and quiet part of Trastevere. From the terrace you have a magnificent view over the city. Inside, the apartment is characterized by its very own decor and charm. (We love Luca's evocative photo art with themes from Cuba). This time we spent a lot of time outside Trastevere. But still the location was perfect. Many of the most interesting places and neighborhoods in Rome is actually located within walking distance from this corner of Trastevere - alternatively there is a very short distance to tram, bus or train. Returning to the apartment in the evening, with all our senses filled with impressions from today's adventures in Rome, we know no better way to finish the day than enjoying a glass of wine (or two!) on the romantic terrace, while looking over the roofs of nearby houses and churches and the hills in the distance. It is a pleasure to deal with Luca, the owner. Both times we have been very satisfied with everything about booking, agreements, facilities and cleaning. Also we have appreciated Rosie's welcome and introduction. When visiting Rome next time, this place will surely again be our favourite.

Excellent appartment in an excellent area of Rome

This appartment has become our preferred location in Rome. We stayed there for the second time. And we do not regret it. Although very centrally located it is extremely quiet. Most of the city can be reached within walking distance. The terrace is a definitive plus. Very close to the Tiberian Island with access to great restaurants in the jewish quarter. The owner is very helpful with tips surrounding the logistics of the stay. And although normally I am hesitant to devulge secrets, being afraid of future frenzies: It is right next door to one of the best restaurants in Rome. Le mani in pasta. (Cacio e pepe). So much for my next reservation. Ric

Beautiful, unique and romantic apartment

My husband and I ended our honeymoon in Italy with 5 nights in this apartment in Rome - and we loved every minute! Luca was incredibly responsive via email during our planning process, and in person when we arrived in Rome. The apartment itself is gorgeous - the bedroom and deck are particularly wonderful, with views over the rooftops of Trastevere that can't be beat. The neighborhood is wonderful - many restaurants, coffee shops and bars, and we walked all over the city using it as our home base. The apartment is well equipped with kitchen equipment, a very comfortable bed and linens (which isn't always the case with rental apartments) and is decorated with Luca's incredible photography. We would rent this apartment again in a heartbeat! It was a spectacular end to a phenomenal trip!

Very comfortable. Convenient location. Safe, secure and air conditioned!

We ended our month long honeymoon with a relaxing week in Rome, and we are very glad we decided to book this apartment! It was +38 and up all week and the air conditioner kept it very comfortable in the apartment. The bathroom, while smaller than we're used to in Canada, was very efficient and had everything we needed. The pickup to and from the airport that we booked through the owner was extremely convenient and highly recommended! We had heard a ton of bad stories about the taxis in Rome, especially from the airport, but our driver was waiting for us after we got our luggage with our names on a sign (even though it took an hour to get our luggage due to a busy flying day, he was waiting with a smile on his face and didn't even mention the wait!). On our day of departure he was waiting for us in front of the apartment early and happy to see us when we came down. The grocery store was a nice bonus as well. It is across the cobblestone street, and the owners daughter helped us pick out some nice breads and meats for sandwiches. She caught on that we didn't speak a word of Italian and was very happy to help us. Overall the experience with Luca was very good, and I would recommend it to anyone I know who was travelling to Rome!

Lovely place in Trestevere, a bit bohemian but clean. The terrace is an amazing place to relax after a long day of walking. Luca was amazing host to deal with, very prompt and professional, and Rosie who checked us in was full of informations and very helpfull. Try the restaurant around the corner Trattoria Da Teo, with mostly locals and very friendly staff. Make sure to arrange for car to airport with Luca, totally worth it!
