About this property

The Triangle: An artist’s funky modern A-frame for solo retreats or group stays on Lake Lipsett

Enjoy the magic of this groovy four season A-frame cabin that sits hilltop to Lake Lipsett in Spooner, Wisconsin. Modern with that wink of cabin kitsch inside, this cozy spot can fit 6 people. This spot has 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, an open kitchen, wood stove, full lower-level with kitchenette, and a big deck that sits in the trees out back, you may hear the neighbor Eagle singing to you in the morning. Outside to enjoy there's a 6-person sauna, gas grill, fire pit, and plenty of snow shoes for snow-romping. The cabin has a long dock with a sundeck for day-lounging or keeping your own boat at as this lake has public access for all the water shenanigans. This spot is filled with games, craft supplies, movies and art books, we've got you covered on rainy days. Great fishing on-site (popular for ice-fishing) and trails, antiques, and restaurants nearby. A perfect getaway for those solo-adventurers, work-from-homers, or group getaways.

While the water frontage may not be suitable for swimming (due to shallow waters and abundant lilly pads), there are lots of other ways to enjoy Lake Lipsett, including fishing, kayaking, canoeing (both available on-site) or simply taking in the scenery dockside and watch a sunset. Experience a rare, ecologically intact lake. The shoreline of Lake Lipsett hasn’t been denuded of its natural flora, and the lake inhabitants have equally remained intact. Watch sand cranes, loons, and turtles and the occasional eagle enjoy the lake as they’ve always done. We’ve elected to sacrifice a swimming area so as to keep our natural shoreline in favor of biodiversity.
Guests must be 25 years or older to book. A signed Rental Agreement, ID verification, and the names of all guests on the check-in form are required. A $500 damage deposit will be held on your credit card and released 7 to 10 days after checkout, pending verification by our cleaners that no damage or breach of the rental agreement occurred.

Met our needs but could use attention

Comfortable beds. Does have a microwave even though I asked the host this and was told it did not. Lots of cobwebs inside the house. Lots of extension cords scattered about the house as not enough outlets had me worried about fire. Needs furniture updates on main level (couches are very cheaply made and unusable). Could be a really nice place with some maintenance and upkeep. Couldn’t use the upper deck because of wasp nests all across the overhead beam. Host brought a can of wasp spray which we used almost the entire can but still didn’t take care of all the wasps. Railing on that deck has pulled away from the house and is dangerous. The lower deck is really nice! Yard is just a bunch of weeds that are not mowed, looks terrible. The communications received from VRBO were confusing because they were inconsistent with the ones from the host, so I was unsure of the check-in process and instructions for check out.

Inspiration paradise!

This sweet artist’s a-frame perched on the edge of the lake was an absolute dream! It is pure visual inspiration - a feast for the eyes (& ears! Beautiful chimes!) - and so many art books to pour over. For the creatively inclined, I’ve never stayed at a more inspiring rental. This is a place for the able bodied, as the spiral staircases to up & down stairs, as well as the staircase down to the lake are steep & narrow. We saw bald eagles & osprey swoop by, and listened to baby osprey be fed by their mama. There is a great natural food store in Spooner, which made cooking at the house a joy. The nest thermostat enables the house to stay at a very comfortable temperature whether hot or cold out. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you to our hosts and the very creative & inspiring owner!

Relaxing weekend!

Second time renting this cabin. It's cute and cozy! Decide to try ice fishing this time! Weather was on the cold side (-17)! so only got out for two of the 4 days. No giants but got a few pike! Love this place!! Can't wait to revisit for open water!

Beautiful cabin in the woods!

We loved staying at this property! It was beautifully decorated and had everything we could possibly need. A fully stocked kitchen, beautiful views, and plenty of space for us to lounge, eat, and work. The sauna was an added perk and included great instructions. We are already planning our next trip back!

Cute Spot!

I stayed at the Triangle with one other adult, where we enjoyed a peaceful weekend. The property is really special. It’s unique and interesting and really does feel like you’re suspended in the trees. The hosts were easy to communicate with and open to the minor feedback I shared. I’d definitely return.

Gorgeous location, fun house!

Had a great time over the fall weekend at the Triangle House! Amazing fishing experience, caught the biggest bass I've ever caught within eyeshot of the property. Beautiful house, wonderfully maintained with everything you'd need to prepare meals. Thank you we cannot wait to rent again!

Great weekend!

Stayed here with 5 other friends and we had a great weekend. Enough space for 6 people (3 couples). Rooms/beds were comfortable, place was clean and the kitchen was well stocked. Yard/property/lake was beautiful. Our only complaint was that the lake access from the dock was not swimmable due to weeds/low water. But we would book again in the future!
