Adorable place appears larger in listing but worked well for us & our adult children Met our needs for a place to relax after floating & exploring the Johnson shut ins. Only complaint would be the grill was too small to feed our crew but the kitchen did have what we needed to cook inside. We would definitely consider staying here again
The property is located right in town. Easy to get to & parking was fine. Had a water problem in town when we got there but the owner Bobby was making every effort to make sure we were going to be fine. It all worked out by the evening time. It was nice to have the accommodations large enough for our party so we could all be together and play games and sit around the bonfire and talk. Great weekend. I would recommend it for others & will be back another time!
House was clean and had perfect amenities. They thought of all the things making a the stay great. Definitely pack some bug spray and enjoy the outside seating area!! Only suggestion is it needs thicker curtains for the bedroom windows because of the traffic & street lights do come thru the windows at night. Beds were comfy and the house is seriously so cute. We all enjoyed our stay.
Our family of 5 had plenty of space. Very clean inside and comfortable. Cute little deck area to relax on in the evening. Kids enjoyed swimming in the Black River which is very close by. Used this location to stay while visiting family nearby. Looks like many hiking opportunities near by and in the area. Do not over look the river and for rock hounds this river produces something only found to this area. Highly recommend this place if you are spending time in the area.
The Purple House is awesome! Our family spent our annual vacation here and couldn’t be more pleased. The house was spotless and decorated in fun colors and furniture. The loft was perfect for the teens and the great shaded deck and swings was so relaxing. The river is just a short drive away with a wonderful beach area. There is a convenience store and Dollar General within walking distance and was very convenient to get ice and other items.
Bobbie is very friendly and communicates in a timely manner. He responded to all of our questions and was very helpful. I will not hesitate to recommend the Purple House to anyone looking to stay in that area.
Thank you Bobbie for sharing your wonderful home!
The house and back yard had the perfect amount of space. Kids loved the upstairs and having their own group room. We absolutely loved the back yard and that is where we spent most of the time. I have check in three stars because the owner was sick and forgot to give us the code to get in, after a long drive my kids needed to go to the bathroom. The stay was great the only other things that I would give low stars on is internet, TV only worked some of the time. Also the parking isn’t good. The church next to the house had VBS. So the church members took the two spots on the street in front of the house. So we had to park in the back yard. But where we parked in the back was owned by the church. So we ended up parking on the side of the house. Myself and my parents only had two vehicles. My sister stayed at the campground and came to the house to hang out with us. So we had a difficult time finding parking for three vehicles. Also the house next to the purple house came to tell us not to park on the street in front of her home. We told her that was the church members and not us. So even the street parking is limited by the church and the neighbors.
Everyone in our group loved the place! We ran out of a few things like toilet paper and trash bags, but wasn't really a problem to pick up extra. Also the grill didn't work but that wasn't really an issue to cook inside.
