A true Northwoods getaway is found here on the premier Manitowish Waters chain of lakes! Experience all that North Wisconsin has to offer in this historical hideaway located at the threshold of Wild Rice Lake! The lake is a 379-acre body of water connected to over 4,200 acres of water across the Manitowish Chain, so bring your tackle and enjoy world-class fishing (common species include musky, panfish, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, northern pike, and walleye). Not into fishing? Keep your power toys at the ready on the property's private dock, or slow it down in the complimentary kayaks and paddleboard provided for your enjoyment. Much of the home's surrounding views are undeveloped, protected forestry land, so uninterrupted nature views are plentiful. Nearby attractions include the island town of Minocqua, historical sites such as Little Bohemia Lodge, and land activities such as golf, cycling, and snowmobiling. With all these amenities available, there's no shortage of fun for the whole family.

Inside, you'll spread out in 5,000 square feet of Northwoods cabin charm with modern amenities throughout. Start the day with coffee in the sunroom or on the private dock, and experience the sunrise reflecting on the lake and peaceful nature sounds. Prepare delicious meals in the exquisite new gourmet kitchen with state-of-the-art Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances. Enjoy dining with 180-degree lake and forestry views in the backdrop in the comfort of the new air-conditioning system. Need to check in at the office? Log on with our state-of-the-art Starlink high-speed, low-latency wifi. Step outside and stroll on the custom deck encircling the entire home, or take the stairs down to the firepit to enjoy some s'mores and ghost stories near the shore! Challenge your loved ones to a little friendly competition on the pool table or belly up to the vintage wet bar with copper countertops. At the end of the day, toss those dirty swimsuits and fishing clothes into the new washer/dryer. And with five newly carpeted bedrooms, there are plenty of cozy places for parents and kids lay their heads at the end of the day to rest up. A baby gate and a Pack' N Play are provided to keep younger guests comfortable and safe.

Whispering Pines on Wild Rice Lake
I loved the kitchen in this place. As the "Head Cook" for our group, I appreciate a VERY nice kitchen. Sleeping quarters are very nice for a large group and we had no issues with bathroom availability or showering conflicts. The view of the lake is spectacular and sunsets are front and center off of the back deck and dock. Our fishing guides picked us up on the dock. Sooo nice! You also have access to the entire Manitowish Chain from Wild Rice, so you can fish for weeks and never cover the same water. Our group really enjoyed our stay. I would book this place again in a second.

Perfect for large groups with kids!
We loved our stay! We had 12 of our family members staying at this cabin. Everyone had their own space and loved the kitchen! We were right on the water, so lots of fishing and kayaking! Very clean and accommodating. They even had a pack n play already there for the baby we had with us. Such a beautiful place! Highly recommend!

Nice, large home for big group
We had a family reunion here in early August with 10 of us ranging in age from 10 to 81 years old. Overall, it is a beautiful home and setting. The home has been nicely remodeled and has a pretty view on the lake and is well stocked with items you would need. A few things to note, the water at the shore is shallow and weedy, so not great for swimming. The geese that made the dock home left an enormous amount of poop to sweep off into the water on a daily basis which made it challenging to use the dock. Vacasa was responsive and brought an owl to try to scare the geese, but they were not dissuaded. We pulled a bass boat up from southern WI and we were able to launch it and keep it at the end of the dock and get through the culvert to explore the chain of lakes. That was a great experience. We also enjoyed the canoe and kayaks the home has for use. In early August, we were not successful in catching fish right off the pier. The railings on the staircase from main level to lower level were removed. There are no railings to hang on to at all. The aesthetic is definitely better without them and I understand why they took them off. It is probably not an issue for most people, but my 81 year old Mom slipped near the bottom of the stairs and fell. Little children could have an issue as well. You have to go up and down these stairs frequently as you have to go down to get out of the house to the driveway. When assigning bedrooms, know that the sound from walking in the kitchen transfers very loudly through the floor to the bunk room below the kitchen. The top bunk is right near ceiling so the group in that room had a bit of frustration with that but we learned to avoid the kitchen later in the evenings and early in the morning. There are 5 bedrooms total to use so it is possible you would not have to use that room at all. Overall, we had a great time with family and appreciated the use of this pretty home.

Great place to stay for a group!
That kitchen! Wow! Never had to go out and eat. With the big fridge and stove, we cooked every meal. All the bedrooms, one for every age level. And that deck, beautiful sunsets every night! There are things that need fixing. Please put rails on the steps, very hard to go up or down for our group, we are all in our 60’s and 70’s gathering for a weeks worth of biking. There is an electrical socket in the lower level near the pool table that isn’t covered. A kid could get seriously hurt. And the downstairs showers need some adjusting, they either run very cold or very hot. Other than that, it was a very nice place to stay and I would like to book it again next fall!

Lots of issues with the place
Hello, The cabin was beautiful right at the lake and especially the kitchen was so gorgeous but unfortunately , we found so many issues with our stay which has been unprecedented with any of our earlier stays! Here is the list of few of many issues we had. For this high price of the cabin, these issues were the very minimum of expectations.. 1. Staircase had a rough sharp edge where the carpet was opening apart from the floor which wounded my kid 2. Several closet doors were completely broken and standing against the wall 3. Bathrooms did not have blinds 4. There was a closet which had a kind of broken flooring that was opening into an electric outlet. Extremely unsafe for kids. 5. Main door was supposed to get auto-locked when closed but that was not working. We had to get a maintenance guy over to get that fixed 6. Kitchen was not stocked properly and didn't even have wine glasses 7. Gas grill was not working and the opening at the bottom of the gas grill was broken too 8. Wifi name listed on the booking was incorrect and we had to juggle back and forth to find the connection 9. Bar was downstairs with no bar fridge. Very inconvenient

Whispering Pines Vacation
The home has a beautiful view and feel. Proximity to the water seemed like looking onto an infinity pool. The kitchen was fantastic, but beware of remodeling inspired wives! Our next kitchen may be identical! The chain of lakes is easy to navigate and opens the diversity for fishing. Very pleased with our stay and would return again in future. Richard

Beautiful home, fantastic week! Definitely would come back
Be ready to be wowed when you walk into this home!!! Beautifully renovated. I want to know what kind of carpet and pad they used because it was like walking on a cloud! The kitchen - by far the best we have ever seen. The new range is fantastic, I felt like a gourmet chef! Kitchen was beautiful, roomy and so well stocked. Loved it. The living room - very spacious and comfortable seating. Two desks in case you are unfortunate and have to work, but if you do, you are set! The bedrooms - 5 in total, perfect to spread out. There were 11 of us and we had plenty of space. Beds were comfortable and lots of extra blankets/pillows if needed. Bathrooms - 3.5 was perfect for a house that size. The double shower in the basement was helpful when everyone was trying to get ready to go out for dinner at the same time. Basement rec room - pool table was fun, couch super comfy. My nephew actually slept on it to escape a “snorer” in his room and he had no complaints! Only thing missing down there was a mini fridge for the bar area and a TV. Laundry - awesome washer and dryer. The laundry room was so big I set up a little workout room of my own in there. Talk about a workout with a view! Outside - just gorgeous. The most beautiful sunsets I have seen “up north”. Great fishing right off the dock. My husband couldn’t fish himself because he was so busy pulling the fish off and re-baiting my daughters hook. I’ve never been in a home so close to the water! So peaceful!! This home was one of the nicest we have rented in the north woods. Check in was a breeze, and Dan from Vacasa was very responsive and helpful. Don’t hesitate, just book it. You won’t be disappointed!!!
