About this property

Historic Highland Square, Hot Tub Garden Oasis

A five bedroom historic 1880's farm house on a hill, situated in the heart of the Square, surrounded by a lush cottage garden with a luxurious hot tub. Our home is created with as many local ingredients as we could find and features local artwork, music, books and nods to our local culture and community. Our business is women owned. Your hosts are 3 women who met as neighbors in the Square, our relationship rooted in our shared experience in this community. We are 5-10 minutes from everything!
The space
Charming 5 bedroom colonial Historic 1880s farmhouse. Thoughtfully Stylised with mid modern furnishings and a clean/minimal feel. Updated kitchen and appliances. Convenient first floor laundry room, fully equipped. Luxury hot tub and sun room overlooking a picturesque cottage garden. Pathways winding throughout the property reveal quaint seating areas for entertaining including outdoor dining area and fire ring. Outdoor areas lit with beautiful solar lanterns and string lights. There are 5 nicely sized bedrooms with crisp white, soft spa like decor and ample closet space.
Guest access
Access to all rooms and closets w exception of one locked linen closet and the basement. Access to double car garage for smaller vehicles.

Christmas in Ohio

Our stay was amazing and we had a wonderful Christmas with our entire family. The house was perfect and so many great things with so many touches you don’t normally see in a rental … the games the books the tv access! Having tons of towels and blankets and all the toiletries, toilet paper, Kleenex, and paper towels!!! That sets this home apart immediately and was such a great surprise. A great selection of pots and pans and storage and silverware - honestly a step above most of the places we stay! We had plenty of space and Shane provided an extra table and chairs that were perfect to accommodate our local family to join us comfortably for meals - thank you for making it special! Not sure how you channel hot water in but we literally never ran out! Kudos to you all for breaking the code there - we had 6 people shower almost back to back with no problems!Shane was quick to respond before, during and after checkout. The house is full of information so you never have to wonder where something maybe, how something works, or expectations of the homeowners. ( which are minimal!) Please note you CAN park in the garage, on the driveway or on the street right next to the driveway. All Ciiy Ordinance approved . A wonderful Christmas memory for us all. Thank you!

Comfortable Beds for a Long Weekend

We had a group of individuals heading to the area for a long sports training weekend. Key for that type of group/event is comfort. The beds were incredibly comfortable, on par with my own bed. Although it was hot out and incredibly humid, the house temperature and humidity was comfortable. I was able to park in the garage. The appliances all worked as they should, allowing us to prepare and store all of our meal and wash clothes in the evening. The host was easy to communicate with and very friendly. It was also reasonably priced. We have already booked again for next year.

Stan Hywet Wedding - Highland Square

We would definitely stay in Shane’s lovely home again. We had a big group for our daughter’s wedding and needed space. The 5 bedrooms were so comfortable and inviting. Everyone who came over to visit was impressed with the main part of the house. Everything we needed and more. Even toys for our toddler! We highly recommend this property and Shane is wonderful to work with. All the best!

Perfect home for extended family gathering

The house was perfectly situated close to downtown, near the beautiful Towpath and walking distance to grocery store and local shops. The home itself was beautifully decorated and comfortably appointed with a kitchen equipped for any cook. Too many "extra touches" to mention - there was even a yoga mat in the closet! The hot tub and fire pit were great perks. Plenty of space for the whole family. Thanks for a great getaway - it exceeded my expectations.

The property was very clean and nice. Just as pictures showed. Enjoyed the large living room with all of family and kids. The hot tub added that extra touch after a long day. Would definitely book this property again.

Great family vrbo

We had a great stay with two families with young kids. The check in and out was easy and communication was extremely prompt. The house was clean and had plenty of space for our group. We also loved using the backyard. We were only a 25 minute from the Cuyahoga National Park and 6 minutes from the scenic train stop in Akron. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone considering staying here!

Family Wedding Gathering House

This property worked out great for us (3 families, 8 total people)! The location was fantastic for our family wedding held at Stan Hywet. We really enjoyed the beautiful backyard and the proximity to Highland Square! Also found the host (Shane) to be very responsive and helpful.

Magnificent!

Within minutes of arriving, our group had already booked a return visit. The property is spacious, clean and full of character. The neighborhood is charming. Would give a six star rating if possible. Already excited for our next stay.

Highlight of Highland Square

This cute home was roomie enough for our family of 5 with three teens. The owners have done a great job modernizing the home while keeping its charm. We were here in mid October and the house was pleasantly warm with the cooler weather that comes with the season. The kitchen had all the necessary items to serve a meal without all the extra clutter that comes with some vacation rentals. The backyard was adorable and the beds comfortable. This location had easy access to all parts of Akron. When we return to Akron this location will definitely be our first choice.

Great little getaway!

Such a fabulous house in an awesome neighborhood

We absolutely loved the house and Highland Square was fabulous. Everything is within walking distance. The garden was beautiful, the hot tub was much appreciated, and the decor was great with all of the local touches. The Akron inspired wallpaper was a cute touch. The beds were comfy with soft linens, the towels were big and fluffy, and there were even a basket of cozy throws in the living room. And the hosts were super responsive. Great space for a garden party, game night, movie night, or family dinner. Highly recommend, especially if you have a large family or big group.
