Stunning Vacation Home in Charming Town of Grand Lake - 5* Reviews - Hot Tub

Moose Ponds is an exquisite vacation home located within the town of Grand Lake with a hot tub. Guests can drive or walk to gourmet cuisine or down home cooking in local restaurants, and shopping in town is always a delight. Moose Ponds is right around the corner from both. Built in 2006, the home offers an abundance of amenities and discriminating designs, including an open, airy floor plan with cathedral ceilings - perfect for socializing. Large Decks are perfect for outdoor gatherings with family. Lots of games and a nice indoor and outdoor sound system. Seven night minimum.

After a day of mountain activities, guests can gather in front of the stone fireplace to relax in comfort. The hot tub, and the large shower with a double shower head available in the master bath, offer a peaceful respite. The home also features a gourmet kitchen perfect for preparing a meal for a large group. Guests will also enjoy a generous living room, dining area and a great room on the lower level that includes surround sound and a game area.

The home is tastefully decorated with fashionable furnishings, luxurious mattresses, beautifully appointed wood floors and ceilings, copper sinks and appealing/interesting art.

Your family and friends will make special memories during their vacation at Moose Ponds that can be remembered while relaxing on one of the two decks. The views from the decks of the two small ponds where wildlife frequently linger are spectacular.

No rental pets. However, we own a dog and occasionally bring him up. While our cleaner does an excellent job of removing all dust and dog hairs, please do not rent if anyone in your party has dog allergies.

Take just a short drive, and guests will encounter extraordinary Rocky Mountain National Park, one of the most beautiful places in the world. Featuring over 150 small lakes and 450 miles of streams, first-time visitors and local guests will be enchanted. Adam Falls, a magnificent waterfall, is also within camera range with just a 10 minutes hike.

Grand Lake is special any season. In the summer, it offers the best boating in Colorado on the state's largest natural lake, and Shadow Mountain and Lake Granby are only minutes away.

Guests may bring their own boat or rent from one of several facilities.

When the snow flies, the snowmobile trails are just steps away from the door at Moose Ponds. For a true Colorado skiing experience, Winter Park Ski Resort is an easy 40-minute drive. Ski Granby Ranch is 20 minutes away and is one of the best family resorts around.

Please enjoy your stay at Moose Ponds in beautiful Grand Lake, Colorado.

UPDATE: Moose Ponds was not affected by the October, 2020 fires.

A beautiful home with all the amenities

This was the perfect home base for us and our adult children while visiting RMNP. There were enough bedrooms and sitting areas for us to spread out and not feel crowded. We appreciated the well-stocked kitchen for meal and snack prep. The hot tub was amazing for relaxing after hiking. The close proximity to Grand Lake and the amazing view of fall foliage were a great bonus.

Relaxing Retreat

We had a great time at Moose Ponds & Grand Lake. You can easily walk into town but still felt you were surrounded by nature. We enjoyed drinking coffee on the deck, use of fire pit &grill, washer & dryer. A great place to escape the summer heat.

Wonderful place to stay!

This property was a wonderful place to stay for our family vacation! There were 6 adults in our group and there was plenty of room and space for all of us to enjoy being together. The home was well stocked with everything we could possibly need which we really appreciated since the has not been our experience with other properties! It was a short drive in the RMNP for our daily excursions. We loved the decks and hot tub!

Moose Lakes

Our trip was great. The house was perfect. The first night only the moose visited the lake. The location is great for entry into RM National Park. It was convenient for cursing the town of Grand Lake and some local hikes. A great time was had by all. A suggestion would be to use a good quality cotton sheet on the beds and replace the teflon pans when they get scratched.

Beautiful location

This is an amazing property. Sitting on the gorgeous deck feels like being in a treehouse. While you can see cars going in and out of the RMNP off in the distance, it’s not annoying. Otherwise you are surrounded by trees! We loved watching the hummingbirds at the feeder. The indoor space was perfect. The open dining, kitchen and living space was wonderful. We cooked alot and always found what we needed. We drove into the park (don’t forget your timed entries!!) several times, went kayaking on Grand Lake and rented a pontoon boat! Absolutely be sure to check out Grand Lake Lodge! The views are amazing. You can eat at the bar which is a lot less expensive than the dinners! Don’t hesitate to rent this property!!

Great vacation home at Moose Pond

Perfect Mountain Get Away

This is the perfect property to enjoy the beautiful scenery the mountains have to offer. It is nestled among the aspen and pines and even though it is very close to town, it is very private. It is less than a 5 minute drive to the entrance to RM National Park! We saw wildlife daily... moose, deer with her twin fawns and even saw a black bear across the lake! The house itself has a large kitchen with lots of space for family gatherings/places to eat. The porches upstairs and downstairs allow for space to spread out and also to enjoy being outdoors. The owner put fans in all the bedrooms to help for those warm afternoons. Overall this is the perfect get away vacation home to enjoy all the mountains have to offer.

Incredible location - beware in winter

Beautiful personal vacation property that is utilized by the owners as well…as such the kitchen cooking items are of better quality than most VRBO/Airbnb’s. If coming in the winter/spring and snow is present, you may experience zero issues until you meet the impressive driveway without a four wheel drive or snow chains…although it’s is strongly recommended I would go further to say it is required if you actually want to park at the house…hauling grocery’s up a slippery driveway (even from the landing) is quiet challenging…all in all our family thoroughly enjoyed this property and would love to actually stay in the summer as well and enjoy the ease of access to walking everywhere in grand lake…plenty of blankets, towels, laundry detergent and fabric softener are provided as well….it’s like going to your parents vacation home….

Christmas on Moose Pond

Our family is from Fort Worth, Texas and our house was flooded in February due to Snowmageddon and we are still without a kitchen. We decided this year we wanted to celebrate with a white Christmas so we decided to come to Colorado hoping that our wish would come true. We chose Moose Pond at Grand Lake because the property could accommodate all 7 of us and it had that outdoor décor that we just love. When we arrived on December 21st the forecast was not looking too good, however, we were saying our prayers and hoping for the best. We were absolutely thrilled at how warm and inviting the house was when we walked inside. Once we settled in, we decided to take a ride into town and low and behold the small town of Grand Lake which looked like something out of a Hallmark Christmas movie. The decorations we brought with us for the Christmas tree matched perfectly to the outdoor décor of the house. Come Christmas Day when the kids awoke early that morning what did our wondering eyes see? The most beautiful white Christmas…the kind you always dream of as a child hoping that Santa will bring you that special toy. Our prayers had been answered! What made it all so amazing was the magic of Moose Pond. Thank you Jerry for opening up your home to us and making our dream come true!

Perfect Location

Everything was better than expected (if that's possible). The quality of furnishings and kitchen ware was premium. We could walk into town easily & the short hike up the road behind the house had a view that may have been better than the one at the Grand Lake Lodge. We also enjoyed the mother moose with her young one that visited the pond a couple times. We were lucky with the weather, too!!

Moose Pond Delivered

Great house - great hosts - great location - great amenities - great time! Jerry communicated just enough to know what was up, and was available if more info was needed. The house is as depicted in the listing, and extremely comfortable. Would highly recommend and would stay again if looking for lodging on that side of RMNP.

Fantastic home and area!

We loved staying at Moosepond. It's aptly named for the moose that lives near there too. We saw him every day in the pond, and sometimes less than 30 feet from the deck! Was a treat for all of us. The house is a quality, well-built home with lots of room and well appointed. The double decks and comfy outdoor furniture were our favorite places to be. We were a little nervous about not having A/C, but we didn't need it. It was actually so refreshing to have the windows open, and we weren't hot. It was definitely even cool enough in August to use the hot tub. Overall, this is a great place for a family or group. We only had 5 people in our group, but there was more than enough room with two living spaces, 4 bedrooms, and those awesome double decks. Jerry has thought of everything to make your stay there hassle free and comfortable!

Exactly what we needed

This was exactly what we were looking for. Amazing property, unbelievable location and perfect time! The owner was incredibly responsive and was most helpful during our stay. The home is exactly as started. We had our four boys and they had a blast. We went horse back riding, went to the hot sulphur springs and hiked at Rocky Mountain national park! Grand Lake is such a great little community...the market, restaurants and locals were amazing! We will definitely be back! Thanks Jerry for all your help and kindness!

About the host

Host profile image
I've been renting this home since 2006 when we bought it new. We take excellent care of it and I pride myself on being responsive to my renters.

I do everything possible to maintain my 5* reviews and try to do everything possible to insure a quality vacation for our customers.

Why they chose this property

We bought this house as a place to enjoy family time. It is laid out perfectly for family time and sleeps 8 people well and has 3 full bathrooms. The decks are large and we liked the open layout of the kitchen, dining room and living room. A short walk up the hill behind the house leads to a sweeping view of Grand Lake, Shadow Mountain Lake and surrounding mountains. We decorated the house with some very nice items including artwork. We like the double showerheads in the master bath and added a nice etched art shower door to it. Really tough to find a house with some space around it, so close to town and the entrance to the national park.
