About this property

Rustic hunt club lodge in the heart of Minnesota lakes country...

Viking Valley Hunt Club is a hunting and shooting preserve tucked in the breathtaking leaf hills north of Ashby, MN. Here we offer an excellent sporting clay course, a trap range, 5-stand, as well as on-site lodging. The sporting clay course, trap range, and 5-stand are open to the public during your stay, but for limited hours. If fishing is your game, and you would like to bring your own boat, there are several great fishing lakes within a short distance. If you would like to go swimming, Eagle Lake county beach (one of the states cleanest and purest waters) is just two miles away. If you are looking for a round of golf, be sure to check out Stalker Lake Golf Course which is just 6 miles from Viking Valley. Last but not least, there are several fantastic restaurants in the area, so feel free to ask us for recommendations! With all the different activities available throughout the summer, there will be something for guests of all ages to enjoy! *Please note that we are a business operating on about 400 acres, so the property will not be exclusive to your group during business hours. Please visit vikingvalleyhuntingclub.com to check our hours of operation, or call the office at 218-747-2121.

Spacious Well Equipped Lodge in Beautiful setting

We loved the volleyball, well-equipped kitchen, and golf hole! Plenty of space to spread out and enjoy. The nearby lake was great for swimming too.

Great place to stay especially for large groups

The hunt club was fantastic! There was so much space for our family to spread out. We were staying there for a fishing weekend, the kitchen was large and very well stocked so we could do big group meals from breakfast to dinner. Smart TVs to wind down and watch some hockey in the evening and a chipping station for the grandkids to kill some time between outings. The property itself it absolutely gorgeous and hosts were so kind and accommodating 10/10 would recommend staying here to everyone, especially if you have a larger group this place is very well equipped to accommodate

Stay

Our trip went very well, hosts provided a lot of the items that we ended up bringing (I did not confirm what to bring, so that is on me. Items like garbage bags, dish soap, Lysol wipes, etc to clean after our stay). Rooms generally included 2 beds and there was more than enough room for all 20+ guests. 3 season porch and large deck, as well as the single hole golf were very nice to have on hand to keep people busy. Large yard for yard games as well. Bring a volleyball since they have a net on site! Sauna was a plus as well. Close to Eagle Lake and it is secluded, but the perfect setting to get away! Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

Beautiful place & great customer service

The owners of the property were very friendly, kind, & accommodating. When we got there one of the room upstairs didn’t have a/c so it was really hot, I went and told Shannon, the owner, she called her husband and right away a group of men came and put a portable a/c in the room and the room cooled down shortly after. The customer service was phenomenal! We had a great time there!

Perfect Weekend Retreat

The property was beautiful and spacious. And Ben, the property owner, was very friendly and accommodating. The sporting clay course was the highlight of the weekend. The pontoon has a small motor and is dated, but the lake was still wonderful to be out on. Easily one of the best BNB/VRBOs I’ve stayed at.

Hello all, we are the Geones family! My wife and I took over Viking Valley in July of 2020. I had managed the club for six years prior to becoming the owner, but started out in the pheasant butchering house two years before. I am grateful to say that I made my way from the bottom to the top of the totem pole with hard work and dedication. Myself, my wife, and our two daughters have a love of the outdoors, hunting and fishing, and we would like to share our piece of paradise with others!
