About this property

Aspen Creek Bunkhouse -- Noon check-in Close to the National Forest

This was worker housing for the sawmill located on this site in turn-of-the-century Prescott. The bunkhouse-style floor plan is about all that is left of those days -- you will stay where the mill workers lived. They shared a bathroom (now, that's all yours) that opens out to the yard, as do all the rooms. The bedroom & bath is accessed from the living room by an outside door to the porch. Bicycle storage available.

We are from Seattle and have retired to sunny Arizona!

Why they chose this property

We really fell in love with this place and the century-old Bunkhouse. We have enough room to have some chickens, ducks and garden space. Prescott has the National Forrest with hiking and mountain bike trails in the cool shade of tall pines. We are only 6 miles from Aspen Creek trail, with tall beautiful Aspen trees that are golden in the fall. We like the Thumb Butte Recreation area where there are hiking and mountain biking trails, and nesting falcons in the spring.
Prescott is a small place where we can be almost in the Prescott National Forest, and still only half a mile from our local Safeway grocery store with Starbucks, and 1.5 miles to the Courthouse Square, Whiskey Row and our favorite Brewery.

What makes this property unique

The little Aspen Creek Bunkhouse has Aspen Creek directly behind it for a wonderful, soothing sound when the seasonal creek is running. During a cooling
Monsoon rain, you can sit on the porch and listen to the rain on the tin roof!
The bedroom is private from the kitchen and living room, you need to go outside and walk about 10 feet through the porch to get from the living area to the bed & bath area. This is the original vintage floor plan from over 100 years ago when the bunkhouse was home to the workers in the sawmill that was on this site. We have some Retro furnishings from our past, a fifties kitchen table, a record player with some vinyl to spin. For the evenings entertainment there is a collection of Monopoly and other board games.
