It Was Fine

The property was fine, and it got the job done. That being said, I was not overly impressed with it for what I paid. The house is fairly run down, and has a strong smell of mildue. It seems to be coming from the ground floor but it's so strong, it bleeds into the second floor.

Wonderful retreat!

We loved our stay at Ooh La La! It's a great property and had all the amenities we care about. Great for multi-family stays and everything was in working order minus some batteries in AV equipment. Hope to go back to this gem! As a side note, the property mgt team (Matt, specifically) was awesome helping with advance questions, troubleshooting pool heat issues in a matter of minutes, and communicating with us as the beaches were shutting down with COVID-19. Stellar job by the team throughout!

Nice But Too Pricey

We love the cape and have always enjoyed coming here. This property location was great. The inside of the home was fine, not our favorite, but fine. The cost of this property for the week is too much. We have stayed in much nicer properties for less. It appears very nice online but in person is not quite as nice. The outdoor area was also not very clean. Pool was dirty and the hot tub jets wouldn't work consistently and the pool was very dirty and needs some attention. We had to call the management office twice to get the pool taken care of.

Great place. Ideal for family. Has 2 quirks that need fixing to be perfect.

Oh la la is great place to stay. Management company was very responsive as when we got there we had two rooms with no lights and a pool heater that did not appear to be on. It was very cold so they told us to call in a day if pool did not warm up -which It did not and they came back immediately and got it working -our hot tub also went out and they fixed it immediately. Our Internet did not work so they immediately brought by a hotspot but we could not get it to work either all week -so that would be the only negative -as we had to use our own personal hotspot and did not have good Internet to watch movies. I could’ve easily called them back about no internet but at that point we just decided to use our hotspot. My only complaint would be 2 things 1)the tree in the backyard that blows all kinds of crap in the pool constantly. It needs to be cut down -there were these floaty things everywhere. Each morning as the pump would run at night to clean the pool it would be Clean for an hour — it looked-like it was snowing whenever the wind blew this tree/bush and made the pool look so dirty even tho it wasn’t 2) The shower/ tub in the master bedroom upstairs is a complete joke you can’t take a shower in it without about killing yourself and having water everywhere. It’s a antique tub with a tiny round shower curtain and rain head shower or a hand held. There’s literally no where to put your soap or shampoo or anything you have to put it on the floor and then try not to step on it while you stand inside a tiny curtain My husband and I ended up having to take showers in the same bathroom as everyone else upstairs it was so difficult to shower. so that is the one negative that might prevent us from renting this house againOverall a great place to stay and management was awesome!!!

Great vacation just a few bumps

The house was clean and it’s a huge house so I can’t imagine having to clean it. The dishwasher wouldn’t work, it wouldn’t drain water from a previous use and most lights were on, it just kept beeping constantly - so I washed the dishes which would have been fine but I couldn’t ever get any hot water in the kitchen sink so I used kind of hot water from the bathroom:( the only other thing was the mosquitos and some other type of biting bugs that were all around the house, front and back and on the walk to the beach so we ALL got eaten up including our two month old grandson. We have mosquitos here in Ga around our house but we have been getting Orkin to spray and it’s been fine - so maybe get someone to spray for the biting outside bugs and the roaches as well inside - we killed one in the kitchen drawer. We loved the set up of the house and the location, the house just needs some TLC❤️❤️❤️

Everything we wanted

The house is perfect for extended family vacation. We had my husband and myself, our two daughters and their husbands, their children ranging in age from 20 to 6, and two dogs. There was plenty of room for everyone and something to keep everyone more then occupied. It is located in a great spot and every piece of property is well situated except parking which is limited. We had a fabulous time. We did have maintenance issues with the dishwasher and the dryer. They came out quickly but neither one works effectively and the issues with both need to more permanently addressed.

Best Christmas Vacation

Ooh La La was the perfect home for our Christmas vacation. We were two families with adult children and spouses - 11 in all. We had plenty of space to mingle together and plenty of space to retreat to when quiet time was needed. We LOVED the pool and hot tub and the firepit. Long walks on the beach collecting gorgeous shells was also spectacular. The management company was extremely responsive when we had a small issue with the hot tub - came out on Christmas Eve to quickly deal with it. Thank you!

Beautiful location, view, & house layout

The house is laid out very well for a large family. I liked that there were 4 whole bathrooms including one on the 2nd floor which was the living/kitchen/dining floor. The location was only a half mile away from a convenient little Trading Post which has a full line of groceries - not a huge selection of brands but has pretty much any grocery item. The nearest regular grocery store was about a half hour drive away & it ended up we forget several items when we did the grocery shopping there so we used the Trading Post several times. The views from the 2nd & 3rd floors were awesome! In the early morning I would look out the kitchen window which looked east to watch the sunrise over the bay which you can see off in the distance as there is no buildings between the house & there - only trees & bushes. In the evenings you can watch the sunset from the sliding doors across the entire 2nd floor or from the sliding doors in 2 of the 3rd floor bedrooms. Of course the sunset is best seen on the beach itself but it was nice to watch from indoors as well.

Great location and private board walk to beach

My husband and I visited this home in June with our children and grandchildren. This home had plenty of room for our family. We enjoyed the private pool and hot tub as well as having our own personal boardwalk to the beach. We enjoyed the screened porches and did not have to worry about open railing with our small children. It was convenient to have an ice maker and small refrigerator on the lower level. The upstairs master tub (hula hoop tub as we called it) was not very functional. It was awkward getting in/out of the tub and you had to reach beyond the shower curtain to bathing products and adjust water. The shower curtain had pink mildew around the bottom. There were also 2 piles of trash/black dog hair swept in the corner on the lower level (no dust pan was found throughout the home), dust, reading glasses, and water bottles under the beds and couch. Overall, this is a nice home with great potential. I would love to see the master bath made more functional and a competent cleaning service implemented.

Great pool and backyard

We had a great family vacation in this house. The pool is awesome as well as the backyard with the pergola and fire pit. The house has a few things that should be fixed such as the double bed mattresses downstairs and a couple of the kitchen chairs are wobbly but otherwise very nice house to stay in. Had great weather all week and when you are on vacation in Cape San Blas what else do you need?

PERFECT!!!

Our family visits the Cape every year. Ooh La La did not disappoint us. The back yead is amazing and since this is a pet friendly beach having the fences yard that we could all enjoy was such a bonus. The home was very comfortable and allowed for space for everyone. The fire pit was put to good uses and offered an amazing view of the sunset. We will use this home again.

Make lemonade out of lemons.

I just want any future renters to know that this home does not have an elevator. It says it does, and even though I emailed them prior to booking and was told that it did. If I had known that it didn't have one, I would not have booked it. It would be nice to receive some type of refund for this, but I am sure that will not happen. When we arrived at 4:15 the cleaners were still there. We had to wait almost 30 minutes for them to finish. The entire time the weeks worth of food we had purchased was getting hot in the truck. The past renters must have had a dog because there was dog hair everywhere. There were several piles of dog poo in the yard. The sectional in the living room is really wore out. The walk to the beach ends at the end of the dune and has not been repaired so there was like a 10 ft drop down to the beach. We had to make our way to the beach by sliding down the dune and then trying to get back up was ridiculous. We made the best of it. Just really sad that there was no elevator and no safe way to the beach. Do not rent if you have any elderly or handicap members in your group. I didn't call the rental company because what were they gonna do, it's not like they would have gave us somewhere else to stay.

Cute beach home, lots of amenities. Plenty of space.

Family of 4 plus 3 along for the ride. There was enough room for everyone. We even brought our dogs. The home is clean & maintained. We were able to have groceries delivered before we even got there. Along with chairs, kayaks & umbrella! This is a family oriented town. Not a lot of restaurants, so to grill was a great perk. I recommend renting a boat at least once & spending some time in the Bay. It's like walking knee deep in a giant aquarium! Starfish, turtles, stingrays & so much more right at your fingertips. My children picked up & touched so many creatures. But please leave it as you find it. Happy Vacationing.

Adorable beachfront home!

Family and friends visited this beachfront home in June 2017. We had 7 in our group & still had 1 unused bedroom to give you an idea of how big this home is.The kitchen /family floor is bright &open. I had 180 views of the ocean while I cooked. You can't beat that! The amenities are great! Fire pit was used just about every night and the outdoor shower is a must after playing on the beach. Really helps keep the sand down. We had some who didn't like the sand so much & that was where the pool comes in. With the zero entery we would sit on the edge and just talk & listen to the waves. Yes, you could still hear them from the pool!We will be back. ; )

Great house, fantastic pool. needs some touches

I was in the house in Feb. we heated the pool and it was wonderful. Our weather was great. We had a wonderful time and I recommend the house. However there are a few problems which could easily be fixed. Biggest downfall to the house is that there is no good access to the beach. you have a high drop off. We are in good shape, but older, this would not do for us to climb up and down the bank. we were told to use Absolute Decadence's entrance to the beach, which is also a drop off but not as steep. The people on the other side of us have a private walkway with steps, they offered to let us use it while we were there. That may not always happen for each renter. This really needs to be corrected. We had some glitches. ie. the hot tub had not been checked, and when we decided to use it, it was green and smelled and would not heat. It was fixed but took a couple days. I would check it first thing, if you intend to use it. Its a great Hot Tub. The pool service is suppose to come I think 2 times a week. they only came one time on two weeks. you can tell because a lot of the leaves from the trees and mulch get into the pool, we would have noticed. we did not call about this and could have. Our refrigerator did not work and we did not realize it was out till Sunday morning. we called and were told someone would be right out but they never came. we finally left to go to grocery store and sure enough I guess they came and left. It was fixed Monday. But sitting around waiting is annoying. The house phone did not work. we reported this 4 times. It was dead and said line in use. we could never find a phone that was off the hook. one time we were told by a young man that he personally would come out the next day and fix it. needless to say we have not seen him yet. no one ever came.we stayed at this house last year and over all it is better condition than it was then. some furniture has been replaced, it has been painted and it was MUCH cleaner than last time. As much as I have pointed out problems, we still love the house and we plan to return next year. Pool, Location and design of the house are wonderful.

A very nice home away from home with ALL the amenities

This was the first time I had ever went this route for a vacation and the whole experience went extremely well. No hassles no worries. I took a whole lot more things than I needed because this place truly has everything you need except personal items. It was convenient, quiet, comfortable and homey. My whole family wants to make this a tradition for our family vacations!!!!

Spring Break Paradise

This trip was our first time to Cape San Blas. We fell in love with the area and the house right away. Ooh La La is one of the nicest homes we have rented and we have rented many over the years. The home was very clean upon arrival and we had no issues during the stay that maintenance did not fix right away (couple light bulbs out). The decor in the home is amazing. Very nicely decorated! So many unique touches that make the house feel like a home and not just a rental. The home is even better in person than the pictures on the site. The screened in porches are great for watching the sun set, relaxing with a good book, or enjoying a glass of wine. All the outdoor furniture was really comfortable and good quality. The outdoor entertaining areas of this home are outstanding. The pool is very nice and the pool guy actually told us it is the nicest one he services. Our 2 boys loved swimming in the heated pool. Outdoor grills and kitchen were great for cooking out. We were also able to use the firepit a couple times and really enjoyed looking at the stars and watching the beach fireworks. Kids enjoyed s'mores! The home offers beach toys and beach chairs. It was nice not having to bring that in the car. We would definitly rent this house again.

Great Family Vacation

We had our second annual family vacation at Ooh La La, and it was a hit in every way. There was plenty of space to spread out and be comfortable, and the imaginative decorating added an element of fun. Our adult kids lived in the pool, which we had heated. It's extremely close to Scallop Cove, for rentals and minor groceries. I would highly recommend it!

Paradise

From the time we walked in the door until the time we sadly said goodbye to Ooh La La, we felt like we were in paradise. The beach was quiet and tranquil. The pool was very relaxing, even in February. The view from every room in the house was amazing. The entire property was spotless and well kept. Roasting marshmallows in the fire pit by the beach on a cloudless night while listening to the outdoor sound system really was quite a treat. The owners made us feel welcome and were always a phone call away. We can't wait to go back! We would recommend Ooh La La to anyone.
