About this property

solid holiday home fantastic views of the mountains and optimal sun exposure

In Chalet Caline you will find the bright and spacious 6-room apartment on the top and top floor, separate entrance, you live like in your own house.
In addition to the incredible view, you will be amazed by the optimal tanning. Enjoy the sun and the view from the living room and the large balcony.
The interior is modern, mixed with rustic elements that give the whole house a unique ambience.
You can expect a spacious and bright living room with fireplace and dining table for up to 10 people. Next to it is a detachable TV lounge with comfortable seating.
The separate kitchen is functional and fully equipped.
4 rustic bedrooms with 2 beds or double beds each have a very individual character. 2 very modern bathrooms with toilet / shower and an additional bathroom with toilet and bathtub / shower facility, in addition to the spacious living area, ensure that a high level of comfort is still guaranteed with an occupancy of 8 people.
Access to the house is via a steep path that has to be walked the last few meters. As a reward, enjoy the absolutely unobstructed view of the mountains and down into the Lauterbrunnen valley. In addition, a peace of the city people always dream. Unfortunately, access to the house is unsuitable for severely handicapped people, wheelchair users and frail people.

Wonderful Wengen!
We spent a fantastic four nights in this Wengen this July. The house has the most beautiful views of the Jungfraujoch and the entire valley, which made the last little steep climb to the chalet worth it! The host was very responsive and made sure we had everything we needed, the beds are comfortable, the kitchen is well equipped, and there's enough space for a larger group. We can't wait to come back!

Great place, excellently furnished kitchen, very roomy and comfortable, great location for hiking, near stores and train station. Paper towels in the kitchen and soap/shampoo in every bathroom would be a plus.

Outstanding Alpine Lodging
The first and most impressive aspect of our stay was the view. We had a full unobstructed view of the valley and mountain peaks. Compared to other lodging in the area, this specific building had one of the best views. The Wengen area was also great for many varied types of activities. We were 4 adults and 3 children and having 3 full baths was fantastic. Overall the lodging was spacious, clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay at this unit in a future trip to Switzerland.

What a view
This is a spacious rustic chalet with 2 of the 3 bathrooms updated. Beds could be a bit more comfortable. The fireplace is not useable. The walk to the chalet is very steep as warned. It is all worth it for the view of Wengen and the Lauterbrunnen Valley.

Great views from up above Wengen
The chalet is just as advertised, and we had a great week using this location as a base for exploring the region. Using a taxi service (~25 Francs) to get luggage up to the chalet from the train station is highly recommended.

Perfect house for larger groups
Three FULL bathrooms set this rental apart! Our group of 7 adults stayed three nights in this charming chalet with the most incredible views of Jungfrau and the valley. Very clean, well-stocked kitchen, plenty of towels. Easy communication with the owner and super simple access to the home. We loved the balconies, and hearing the cow bells as they went past. Wish we would have stayed longer!

This is the view you want!
We are SO glad we booked this amazing property in Wengen! On a clear day, the view from the front desk is simply amazing. The property was clean and comfortable. The house is slightly up above the village, and only the last 100 yards or so is a bit of a steeper climb. The village has restaurants and a store for your grocery shopping. An easy walk down to the train station to travel wherever you want from there. What a wonderful experience we had here!

Views, views and more views.
Chalet Caline was the perfect place to enjoy Wengen and surrounds. The property was as described, very clean and located in the perfect position to look down the valley to Lauterbrunnen. We were a mixed family of 7, and had plenty of space. We took a taxi (Ibex Taxis) up to the Chalet as it’s an up hill trip and harder with luggage, but it’s only a 10 min walk from the train station. The last 20 metres was a little steep but very doable. We would definitely return. I could sit on the deck and look at the view all day.

A worthy hike to a amazing view
I recently stayed at a VRBO in Switzerland and was absolutely blown away by the breathtaking views. Nestled in the mountains, the scenery was nothing short of spectacular. However, be prepared for a bit of a workout if you’re bringing luggage. The hike to the property was challenging, especially with bags, but once you arrive, it’s completely worth it. The peace, tranquility, and the natural beauty surrounding the home make up for the effort. One small downside was the towels. They were a bit on the scratchy side, but surprisingly, they were quite absorbent, which made up for the lack of softness. Overall, if you're up for a bit of a trek, this place is a perfect retreat in the Swiss Alps with views that make it all worthwhile!

Family Skiing Holiday
Excellent property thoroughly enjoyable week very steep hill to the property skis and boots need to be left in the town. Skiset shop offers overnight storage for equipment hired from them which was brilliant. One key only to the property between 8 adults was a bit of an issue.

An unforgettable week in Wengen
We had a wonderful week with four teenage young ladies with never a dull moment. The chalet was perfect with oodles of old world charm but modern bathrooms. The position of the chalet is challenging for a 77 year old being up a steep hill. However there is an easier route if required. The location of the chalet is stunning and we spent many happy hours just sat on the balcony admiring the spectacular views. Every day was an adventure with so many walks and spectacular railway trips to go on. Can highly recommend.

We had a wonderful time in this amazing spot!
This is a wonderful chalet in a fantastic location with one of the best views in Wengen. We loved the location especially and enjoyed watching the sunset on the mountains and pisters at work at night time. The chalet is very well laid out with two separate sitting areas downstairs (with a door between and TV in the smaller area), three bathrooms (one upstairs two downstairs) and a well equipped kitchen. The bedrooms are all a good size with plenty of storage for a week-long stay. Beds were very comfortable. The stairs are open so may not be appropriate for very small children. It is at the top of a very steep hill so you need to be prepared to walk up and down it with luggage (even the taxis can’t get very close) but it’s worth it! We hired our skis from “SkiSet” (discount via Decathlon) which was perfect as they have a large storage room (free) opposite the cable car/ski school meeting place. It would not be practical to store them at the chalet really due to the hill. Thank you so much for a super stay we would love to return one day.

Would definitely come again
Views were stunning. We rented the cottage for a week. We were visiting from Canada. It has always been a dream of mine to visit the Swiss alps. Climb from the village was steep (as owner had told us ahead of time). Nothing blocked out view of Jungfrau mountain and the valley with an idyllic waterfall. It was hot while we were staying at the chalet in August. About 26 degree Celsius and the blankets on the beds were uncomfortably hot. Would have been nice to have lighter blankets available as an option. Bathrooms and showers have been renovated. Bedrooms haven’t been. Three bathrooms including shower in each bathroom in this chalet. The view makes this an incredible chalet. The deck is spacious. Even view out the kitchen window onto neighbours flower garden is beautiful. I would definitely rent this chalet again. Music party in the village was loud late into the night on Saturday... I was glad we were as far away as we were. Hiking Eigergletcher to Biglenalp creek (and putting legs in the creek) was a highlight of our trip... plus walking on glacier at Eigergletcher. Two grocery stores in Wengen have all the essentials (including supplies for making sushi) and we made all our own food and delighted in the views from dining room table in the chalet.

Spacious chalet with incredible views
Spacious chalet with incredible views. There are no cars in Wengen so safe environment. Very steep hill to get to the chalet and you need to be able to carry your bags. Chalet is clean and although it could do with a washing machine, it otherwise had everything we needed. We spent lots of time walking, on cable cars, trains, funicular, paragliding and on the alpine lakes. So much to do - it is like a huge playground :)

One of the Best Views in Wengen!
We absolutely loved our stay in this wonderful view home in Wengen. The home was very clean, beds comfortable, and 2 of the bathrooms have very nice updates. The windows appear to be newer and they and the door provide for a very quiet and peaceful space, not to mention keeping the heat out in the summer which was much higher than we would have expected, but is sadly happening to the entire world. The house could use some updated options in the kitchen as some are from the 70's, literally like the coffee maker, but it still works fine. The other review mentioned a washer and dryer which would be such a great addition to the home since the only place to do laundry is in the middle of town and takes hours to use. I literally spent an entire day doing laundry of our 7 days stay which was far less than desirable, and the bath appears to be plumed for it. Hope you will consider this Hans, thank you. One other issue is the hair dryers in the home are not operable as they are not Swiss plug in types, so be forewarned. Lastly you should know that the last 100+/- yards to the home is so steep it is like walking up stairs (and part of it is). It was not an issue for us, but pack light! The upside is the unobscured views of the mountains, valley and town, and the cows in the pasture right behind you. It also gets you ease of access to the trails Hans kindly recommended behind the home which you must do for sunset. Overall I would not hesitate to rent this home again and would highly recommend it to anyone who loves a breath taking view from their home.

Very tidy neat chalet with sufficient beddinings requirements . Kitchen could do with a microwave.
Very good . The host could further enhance the chalet by adding a Microcave and Clothes washing machine and cooling Fans in the rooms since the summers are getting hotter to get if from 98% perfect to 100% . Kaushik Patel stayed 19th July 2019 to 23rd July 2019
