Location and surroundings
The Useriner See lies in the middle of the Mecklenburg Lake District, halfway between Berlin and the Baltic Sea, embedded in dreamy lakes and vast, quiet forests. In the morning, the twittering of birds wakes you up and after your run in the forest you can take a dip in the clear water of Lake Useriner. The Villa Blau is located directly on the Müritz National Park. Enjoy hikes or long walks through the untouched nature far away from any city bustle. Countless lakes, endless forests, no mass tourism - ideal for families and nature lovers!
Userin is located in the heart of Mecklenburg, between Müritzsee, the Rheinsberger Seen, the Feldberger Seen and the Tollensesee. The Useriner See is 5.2 km long and 950 m wide and the Havel flows through it. The lake belongs to the upper Havel lakes and is connected to the Havel waterway. It is possible to get to the Elbe by boat on the one hand and to Berlin on the other along the Havel waterway and of course further. The upper Havel lakes are famous for their abundant fish stocks: an Eldorado for anglers, paddlers and all water sports enthusiasts.
Not every day is a bathing day - so you may follow Kurt Tucholsky's footsteps and walk on Prussian paths in Rheinsberg. Or you can discover the baroque architecture of the nearby town of Neustrelitz. Neustrelitz was founded in 1733 as the residence of the dukes of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. The Ducal Castle Gardens, the Orangery, the Mecklenburg State Theater, the Castle Church and the newly renovated town church with the third highest tower in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania are worth seeing. The view from its viewing platform gives an unforgettable impression of the square market square with its eight star-shaped streets going out in all directions. A stroll through the streets of Neustrelitz reminds at every turn of the heyday of the city in the 19th Century. The extraordinary, late baroque city complex is considered unique in Europe. The heart of Neustrelitz's old town still beats here today with its pedestrian zone, shops, restaurants and city museum.
