Warning: driveway!
Pros: this property has a wonderful amount of space for a multigenerational stay, and is only a short walk to the beach. It’s in a lovely quiet area of Rehoboth, and of course, being able to bring your dog is a wonderful plus. The renovated bathrooms are really nice, although some of the pocket doors mean a lack of privacy as other reviews have noted.
Cons: I’m sure part of it is the end of beach season, but the house is really in need of a deep, better clean. Some of the beds desperately need to be replaced. As other reviewers have noted, the yard area has a lot of mosquitoes, and I killed a good number of flying insects in the basement bedroom. The WiFi is spotty.
WARNING: This house has a driveway with room to park three cars. However, the trees lining the driveway drop large nuts, or at least they did during our early September stay. Unfortunately, we didn’t drive our car during the latter half of our stay, and as we were departing to return home, heard a loud noise. The nuts had cracked our car’s sunroof, and it completely shattered. I share this in the hopes it can spare someone else the inconvenience and cost of replacing their sunroof.
What was most disappointing was Vacasa’s lack of customer service when I contacted them to discuss this issue, and to update this listing to share a warning. Although I was told via the main customer service line that someone from the local office would call me, no one did. I contacted customer service again via email, shared pictures of the sunroof, etc. I’ve only received impersonal, perfunctory email responses, clearly meant to dismiss my inquiry, and was told I needed to contact the main customer service number if I want to speak to someone, which is of course what I did originally. I thought Vacasa might offer a gift card or at least assure me they would share this warning with other guests, but they continue to write evasive emails rather than dedicating a small amount of time to personal customer service. I guess what can you expect?
