The property in Glen Haven was just as advertised! It was super clean and the woodwork in the house was beautiful! It was a great location for stopping in at some of the small towns in the area. We will be back!
We really enjoyed our stay in the old parsonage in Glen Haven. It was centrally located around places we wanted to see. The town is very small but it is close to others with groceries and restaurants.
This was our 2nd time staying here. We absolutely love this house. This house in centrally located with our ride and attractions we wanted to do. Very happy with the communication with the property manager (didn't really have a need for communication except check in). Tons of kitchen amenities if needed. We love the option of 3 bathrooms and 2 showers, especially after a day of dirty, dusty riding. We will definitely be back next year.
There are not many places that can fit our family so this house works out well. It is older but has most everything you need & clean. We would definitely stay there again.
The Parsonage was a great place for our family and grandchildren! We has a group of 11 that included 3 small children. We had lots of room to gather and eat! All the bedrooms were used! The beds were comfy too! Overall, the house was spacious and clean and a great place to make memories.
Beautiful home, clean and welcoming. Peaceful area, breathtaking scenery and friendly locals. A great get away but close enough to Prairie to stock up on supplies. Cozy deck for morning coffee to watch the sun come up.
From my 7 yr old grandson to my 78 yr old mother, we had an amazing time and was able to relax and reconnect as a family.
The listing did not do this place justice! Just to take in the historic beauty standing in the home was phenomenal! The dedication to preserve the home is heartwarming. I did not realize that I would see the Mississippi from the house! The church across the street gave the area such a spooky wonderful charm! Local places will tell you about the history as well. We were told this place was originally built for the pastor who lived across from the church! Just amazing. You will not be disappointed!
This was a great place to stay. It can sleep up to 20+ if you bring air mattresses or sleeping bags. There’s 5 double beds and 3 twin which added up to 13, plus 2 couches. so 15 sleeping spots. But lots of room in this house. Beautiful woodwork. Safe neighborhood. Cousins ages 8-15 enjoyed riding bikes around especially up the hills and flying down past the house. They also enjoyed fishing and catch and release crawdad. There’s a park very close. We would definitely stay here again!!
Each year our extended family finds a reasonably priced house large enough to hold us. This year we had 19! We had a great time! There had been so much rain that there was flooding across much of the state making outside kind of miserable and buggy, it would have been so much better if it wasn’t flooded, but obviously no fault of the owners. It was 4th of July weekend and Bagley had weekend festivities to keep us busy, that was 15 minutes away. Glen Haven had a cute little bar where the teenagers went to have cheese curds. There was a very nice park close by (partially flooded, but very nice!) just a gorgeous little village to explore.
Things to know: in order to sleep 19 we had to put people on couches and air mattresses. There was plenty of room for this. Doors are old and heavy so even with little kids, it was easy to sleep in if you shut the doors, very quiet upstairs! Not all the bathroom doors lock so be ready to communicate! We had no cell phone service (which can also be an amazing thing.)
Overall I would highly recommend if you are looking for a quiet, relaxing weekend away.
We really enjoyed our stay. We needed a neutral property for this family visit. Last family visit, my sister's dog tried to eat my brothers cat and.... well..... I had good communication with the staff before our stay and I was given great tips. We LOVED the Wyalusing State park, the Nelson Dewey State Park, and checking out Cassville, Prairie Du Chien, and touring around Glen Haven. We all imagined it was a lot busier in the summer months. The area history is really amazing. We celebrated my son's 20th birthday! Linens were great, beds were comfy, my niece had her own room, and the house is well kept. My brother, a carpenter, said that the photos in the posting did not do the property justice. It's defrinitely on our "will visit again" list.
The house was an old parsonage. Loved it because it was unique and lots of history behind it. It was large enough to fit 10 people comfortably. It was very clean and had everything we needed to make our stay even better. We plan to come back again .
We took back home great memories.
Thank you!
This property is absolutely perfect. We were a group of 9 friends that were looking for a good place to stay for our side by side fall leaf run. This house is amazing. Plenty of room for us plus about 10 more. Very comfortable and homey. The decor was so interesting and told a lot about the house and surrounding area. Dining room was big enough for all of us to sit together for morning coffee, and end of the night snacks and nightcap. Not a lot to do in Glen Haven for the fall season, but we were aware of this and had plans to ride through the surrounding area. We rode to Cassville and took the Ferry over to Iowa and spent the day at the amazing winery. We had a perfect, amazing and most of all fun weekend. We will definitely book her again next year. We are hoping for our summer ride and again in the fall. We didn't have any issues with checking in and there was no need for any management conact during our stay. Amazing home!
