About this property

Cozy Coosawattee RR Lodge Sleeps14 w/ HotTub, KingBeds, X-Box, GameRoom, FirePit

Escape the hustle and bustle of the city with a stay at Lucky Stars Lodge in the Coosawattee River Resort minutes from downtown Ellijay. This spacious lodge is located on 2 acres of land providing privacy and seasonal views of the Blue Ridge mountains. Watch for wildlife while relaxing in the hot tub or while lounging on one of the many screened in or open decks. Make s'mores and tell campfire stories while gathered around the fire pit. If you'd rather stay in doors, take advantage of the pool table in the loft or the air hockey, foosball table, and x-box system (with access to a catalog of free games) in the game room

When pulling up to the house you'll first notice an outdoor patio with rocking chairs and swings invoking images from movies of the perfect peaceful getaway. Upon entering the house, you'll find a great room flooded with natural light and stone fireplace. For nights you want to cook at home, take advantage of the fully stocked kitchen and bbq grill for meals at home. For those who struggle with stairs, the main floor has two bedrooms and two bathrooms each with a king bed. Downstairs you'll find another bathroom, one bedroom with a king bed and the bunk bedroom just off of the game room. For the outdoor lovers, we have three screened in porches to help avoid pesky mosquitos as well as 3 open porches, each bedroom having its own porch. Just in case you have a large party we have an additional bed in the upstairs loft where you'll also find an antique pool table.

While the house does not have direct access to the river, you are welcome to access the river for floating, fishing or kayaking at the resort community's river entrance. For security, the property has two cameras in the front of the house and one in the back of the house.

Guest access

The community is guard gated and requires a list of the names of all guests ages 16 or older. Please provide the list of names soon after booking so I may submit them to the community. We also need to know the number of cars that will need entry into the neighborhood. Please be aware, guests will be denied entry into the community if their names are not on the list. The driver may be required to show his/her driver's license upon entering the property. A number for the guard house is provided if you would like to have food delivered to the property.

The pools, community arcade, mini golf, sports courts, and recreation center in the photos are accessible to guests for a fee. Guests may purchase amenity access cards from the community during their stay. Each card costs $59 and allows up to 4 people to use the the community amenities during your stay. Use of community outdoor parks, the fishing pond, and the river access are free of charge.

Just as a heads up, the roads in the community can be steep and are often windy. While the area does not often receive much snow, if there is snow or ice you may need 4 wheel drive or tire chains to access the house. Most of the roads are paved, but the house is on a gravel road.

Other things to note

The property is treated monthly by pest control. Unfortunately, pests are a part of life in the area and some do sneak into the house in spite of our best efforts. Please keep doors closed and food stored or in a closed trash bin to assist with keeping pests out. If you see an abundance of pests, please let host know. There are no refunds for seeing pests in the house.

Pets are allowed on the property and in the community, but they must be leased and observed at all times while outside per the community rules. Deer and other wildlife are frequently found on the property so we want to protect both pets and the wildlife. Please pick up after your pet.

There are security cameras located on the outside of the house only. There are two in the front of the house and one in the back of the house.

The fishing pond is a catch and release only pond. A fishing license is required to fish on the river.

We do not provide firewood. However, we do keep a stockpile of firewood left from previous guests. You are welcome to use the stockpile if there is any wood available.

The home is self-catered. You are provided with a starter kit of toilet paper, paper towels, laundry/dishwasher detergent, soap and trash bags. Should you run out of any of these items you may purchase them at the local walmart or grocery store.

Thanksgiving retreat
Great get away location. Close to Elijay, BlueRidge, hiking spots. The resort communities is very big with winding mountainous roads that took a little time to get used to if you’re not used to driving those types of roads. Property not too far from the gate which was good . Some of the road signs were confusing so best to arrive during the day. There are several entrances into the resort and I would recommend that you carefully study a site map so as to figure out which way is the best way to go to get to the recreation center and other spots. Would recommend coming out of the resort and utilizing the main roads, flanking the resort to get to the other side of the resort where there are amenities there that would be good for family fun. This property has some privacy with a nice wooded view. Plenty of parking and wildlife everywhere. (did not see any bears). The cabin was comfortable and had everything you needed. I would recommend bringing additional bath towels. The owner was very accommodating and we did run into an issue with not being able to use the satellite dish TV, which was beyond her control. She did try to do everything she could to address the situation, which was greatly appreciated . There was a nice fire pit, however, we had a fire ban where we could not use the pit, but I consider it an asset. All in all it was a great location to spend with my adult children and their spouses and would consider coming back to this location.

Birthday Fun
We had a wonderful stay at the Lucky Stars Lodge. The deer came up and ate out of my granddaughters' hands. They were thrilled. My granddaughter who turned 7, claimed it as the "best birthday ever!". They enjoyed swimming, the hot tub, Xbox games and movies. It was such a pleasant weekend with my family.

Spacious cabin getaway
The Lucky Lodge was a nice spacious cabin getaway in the mountains. We had three couples and the space was great and comfortable for everyone to ample room. There were many amenities that we were sad we did not have the time to use. Our only complaint involved cleanliness with finding a dish with moldy food (assuming from the last guests) that was left in the kitchen. We made the host aware of the situation and she apologized.

So glad we chose the Lucky Star Lodge!
We had a great Christmas here! 3 families came together and we thoroughly enjoyed the cabin. The basement and loft have great activities and there was plenty of space to spread out and relax. Driving up and down the mountain took some nerve in the snow but we had such a great time we would definitely stay here again. The host was very quick to respond to our questions and the space was clean and well equipped. We would all love to come back in the future.

Beautiful fall retreat
We spent fall break at this beautiful cabin and it did not disappoint! The pictures were a perfect depiction of what this cabin looks like. It was beautiful inside and out. It was very clean and stocked with all essentials. The beds were very comfortable, including the bunk beds in the basement. We all enjoyed the recreation room & pool table in the loft. I would suggest smaller pool sticks because the walls get in the way of shooting with traditional pool sticks. Lindsay was wonderful to work with. She was very responsive and helpful throughout our stay. We will definitely be back!

House and host is exceptional!
We were VERY pleased with the house and the host! We especially liked that the house was clean, well-thought out, and intended for guests to be free to relax. We had only minor questions and all questions answered promptly. The host is one of the best that we have had the pleasure to rent from. There were no disappointments from us. Thank you for a great stay.

About the host

Hosted by Lindsay Goffstein

Host profile image
Hi! I'm Lindsay and I love to travel. My goal is to provide guests with a 5 star experience for every visit. I treat guests as I would want to be treated and strive to provide the type of home and experience I would want when I stay at a vacation home.

Why they chose this property

My family absolutely loves this property! When the trees are full of leaves, you feel very immersed in nature, especially when deer come wondering by which happens frequently. Once the leaves fall you get a view of the blue ridge mountains. The kids love having "their space" with the bunk beds and game room next to each other. They would play air hockey all day if we didn't have other plans to visit the orchards, go hiking, etc. I also love the option of using the enclosed patios since I seem to be a magnet for mosquitos. Frankly, we find the home to be peaceful with opportunities for us to do things together as a family rather than have everyone connected to technology. The home is purposefully decorated in a less modern fashion to give it a warm and comfy feel.

What makes this property unique

One of the best characters of this property is the fact that it sits on 2 acres. Many homes in the community are close to each other so you feel like you are in a housing development. This home gives you true privacy where you don't have to worry about being too loud for the neighbors or the neighbors seeing you from their back yards. Conversely, you won't have noise from neighbors bothering you. This lends itself to a more peaceful, quiet stay.
