Todds place was the perfect weekend getaway. It was cozy, warm and had everything we needed to cook and be comfortable. The beds were comfy too. The house is immaculately clean. Todd is a wonderful host ! GHighlyrrrecommend
Our family stayed here for three nights in early April and we would definitely return! Todd is a wonderful host who was very kind and welcoming, and he quickly returned any email questions we had. It snowed shortly before we arrived and Todd made sure the deck was cleared off so we could sit by the water. The next day he brought out a canoe and paddles so we were able to get out on the lake, which is peaceful and beautiful. The only sounds we heard were birds and water lapping.
The cottage itself is lovely: clean, comfortable, sunny, and spacious. The kitchen is stocked with everything we needed, including a coffee grinder and plenty of dishes and glasses for all occasions. The beds are comfortable as well. It was a pleasure to stay here and we didn’t want to leave. We all hope to come back in the summer.
It was cozy, clean and spacious. The kitchen was incredibly well-appointed. I can only imagine how amazing this spot is in the summer months!! Todd was very kind and welcoming and kept in great communication.
Beautiful view of the lake!! The house was super clean and very nicely decorated. Plenty of space for our family of 5 with room for relatives to come visit.
We would definitely stay here again.
We loved staying at Todd’s place! The pictures of the house and property do not do it justice. The house is immaculately clean. It feels like a brand new house. The house is tastefully decorated and warm and cozy. The beds were super comfy as well as the bedding. The house is fully stocked with everything you could want or need. Check in was easy and Todd is quick to respond. The lake the house sits on is beautiful and so peaceful. My family and I loved hiking the wild life conservation trail across the street. Wow was it ever so stunning! My kid’s loved being in “two places at once” on the trail… Canada and the US. The town is adorable. We enjoyed grabbing dinner near downtown and visiting the farmers market. We will definitely be back!
Definitely a place we will return to. Beautiful location. Home is fully equipped with everything that you will need. Big screen tv. Loved washer and dryer. Host are very friendly and accommodating. Couldn’t ask for anything better.
it was a very pleasant quiet setting near the lake. the owners were very responsive and helpful. Gave us ideas of where to go to eat in town. Did not use the deck by the water but owners were more than accomodating. Enjoyed our walks on the trails. House was well supplied with everything you might need. Would defiinitely stay there again.
The location was beautiful, house was immaculate and our hosts were gracious and so accommodating. Todd and Tracy were so helpful before and during our stay. They were very available for our questions before, gave us excellent recommendations for walking, restaurants etc in the area. They were available during our stay but gave us our privacy. The house was absolutely clean and equipped with anything you might need, except the food itself. Kitchen fully equipped, grill in the back in a beautiful woodland setting, sunny porch in the front. The neighborhood is private and quiet, and so close to the town for dining, farmers market etc. We were very happy with our stay!
The accommodations were amazing! Plenty of room and activities in one of the most beautiful parts of the state. My family will be back to visit the area again soon. The property owner was great to deal with and very accommodating with local recommendations. Also unlike some of the horror stories you ready about (getting out to work around the property). His requests were very reasonable.
A nice weather forecast for the weekend led us to look for a place on the lake. We were fortunate to find this house at the last minute. The house was very clean, completely furnished and gave us a place near the water. We had a very pleasant weekend.
Absolutely wonderful!! Great communication with the hosts, description was right on, just what we were looking for. Very quiet and remote location but easy to get to stores and restaurants. The house was very tidy, pretty roomy, beautifully decorated, really felt homey. The yard was great to play badminton and such. I loved that we could bring our dogs and enjoy the kayaks. I can’t rave about this place enough.
We made wonderful memories with our family staying at this beautiful cottage. From its perfect lake location/views and outdoor/indoor amenities to the owners’ friendliness and communication … we have all great things to say about our stay. We took advantage of the paddle boat, kayaks and canoe just about every day! On some occasions as big as the lake is … it would feel so quiet and private out on the water! And, there was so much we were able play on the open lawn area in front (we have a 7 year old) - wiffle ball games, badminton, lawn darts and we even had a great afternoon to fly a kite! And top it off with fireworks over the lake on the 4th of July … while making s’mores and having a couple beers around the fire pit … who could ask for more! We may just make this cottage the meeting spot with our Canadian side of the family for other times of the year, too. It made a long overdue visit with them (due to the pandemic) have the vacation feel we were looking for! Thank you!
This lakeside getaway is pristine and Todd is a wonderful host! He was very communicative and attentive to our needs. We arrived late in the evening and Todd had the lights on and the house ready for us. The house was immaculate and had everything we could want. The kitchen was fully stocked, including an electric griddle, coffee maker, teapot, aluminum foil, storage containers, and cleaning supplies so that we could pick up after ourselves. I will admit that walking with bare feet in a hotel room or somewhere other than my own home gives me the heebie geebies; but not here! I very much enjoyed the house, the beach, and early summer weather - bare feet and all.
I am grateful to have found the perfect place to get away and relax for a long weekend. If I could give it six stars, I would.
PS - Todd pointed out a walking short walking trail through a wildlife preserve that goes to the Canadian border and my family really enjoyed that experience. Also, Tim and Doug's Ice cream stand in town at the Pick and Shovel is a must-do.
A great President’s Day weekend! This cozy house was not only warm when we got there but the kitchen was stocked with all the utensils we needed to cook dinner. Showers were refreshing and we loved the open downstairs area. We think this would be a great place in the summer time too! Our only wish is that the drive to Jay Peak could be a little shorter. The host was very communicative too!
We had a lovely stay at Todd's cottage. We were looking for a quiet spot not far from Jay Resort and this was it! The space was as described, very clean and tidy, and the host was very attentive. Thank you Todd! We would stay again!
My family spent the weekend of 2/11/22-2/13/22 at this immaculate, organized, completely stocked house with every item you need while on vacation. The owner was quick and responsive to emails and willing to give suggestions for restaurants. The 45 minute ride is picturesque to Jay Peak making it feel much less. The lake is beautiful and I can only image how much fun staying here during the summer would be. My family would 100% stay at this beautiful house again. Thank you to Todd and his family for your hospitality during our stay.
We had a great time using this house as a base for skiing at Jay. Lots of space - massive living room - and a very nice walking trail nearby. Very easy to get recommendations or anything you need from the owners who live just next door. Would stay again!
We had a brief stay at Todd’s cottage. It was midpoint in our vacation and we really needed a rest. The cottage is spacious and the bed was comfortable. Great place to recharge. We sat at the lake and took long walks. We would definitely stay there again.
My wife and I and our two children really enjoyed our time in Todd's lake house! The house is clean, modern, in great shape, and the location is fabulous. It is set back from the lake more than the other houses on the peninsula but shares lakefront access with the house Todd and his family stay in. They were wonderful hosts and went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable and that we knew the yard and private beach --as well as their four kayaks, canoe, row boat, and paddle boat-- were completely available for our use. The Eagle Point neighborhood was very quiet, and even though other people were there enjoying their houses, we had a great deal of privacy. We highly recommend Todd's house and would definitely visit again!
Our trip was beautiful, relaxing, and completely seamless. Todd was a wonderful host and was extremely helpful and gracious. I visited with my family over Labor Day weekend and everything was great. The lake was right on the property and my family enjoyed the kayaks and paddle boat. The landscape in Newport is stunning too. Highly recommend this experience!
