Relax on our spacious porch with views of Sherman's Creek and Pisgah Ridge. Watch the hummingbirds during the warmer months and the wild turkeys in spring and fall. Keep an eye out for the bald eagles who are almost always overhead. Listen for the red-tailed hawks. Wander in our woods or on beautiful local trails. White-tailed deer visit early and late. Or drive to Hershey Park, nationally recognized Carlisle Car Shows, Harrisburg or Gettysburg attractions.

We checked in for our second stay and it all felt so familiar, like coming home, only better, especially in the mornings. I love sitting on that big porch, coffee in hand, watching the world wake up. We spend our days tooling around the area, discovering things to do and
come home to a comfy bed to recharge in.The place is so quiet and surrounded by such beauty! This year the leaf color was gorgeous and we were visited by a porcupine! Inside and out it’s full of little surprises. Love it, and love our host as well. Thanks Lynne! Perfect relaxing vacation!
come home to
My wife and I stayed for a couple of days and it was exactly the peace and relaxation that we needed. Spacious, clean, and lovely place located in a beautiful pasture not too far from a creek. Morning walks down the road were so enjoyable and we checked out some local parks, towns, and wineries that were just a short drive away. Very highly recommend for the nature lover/solitude seeker!
This was a quiet little house in the middle of a field. The covered porch looks out towards a mountain with a creek (can’t see the creek). We was some deer, bald eagle and some other wild life. Inside was charming. My wife spent most of the time on the porch reading. About 15 min from several great little restaurants and 30 min from Carlisle for bigger town amenities.
My wife and I soaked up the quiet, restfulness of the property. Sitting on the porch, reading in front of the fireplace, and walking in the autumn sunshine were restorative and delightful.
Words can't describe how beautiful & peaceful this property is. The one bedroom home is lovely & spacious, with unique & beautiful touches throughout. The owner, Lynne is very friendly & communicative. We spent most of our weekend on the spacious porch, sitting on the porch swing or rocking chairs, looking at the stunning view; hearing nothing but the birds & sounds of nature. Lynne has a large hummingbird feeder hanging right near the rocking chairs & porch swing; we were mesmerized by the three hummingbirds who spent the majorty of the weekend coming to it ... so close in proximity we could hear the loud buzz of their quick moving wings. We made a campfire each night, and sat quietly on the porch listening to rain patter on the roof during the day. It was so serene & peaceful, without a neighbor to be seen. If you are looking for a place to relax & renew, this is where you want to be.
Lovely, quiet, and private stay without any neighbors in sight. House is neat, eclectic and comfortable. Large front porch is a delight to relax on.
We stayed put most of our stay except for a pedicure the one morning at Little Valley Hair Salon. It was perfect for the quiet R&R we were looking for. Lynne was great about checking in through email, but gave us our privacy.
Lynne's house is exactly as described. Coming from Philly the first thing my partner and I noticed is how quiet and peaceful it is. The living area and porch of this cottage look out on a mountain ridge, and it was within easy driving distance of trails, parks, historic towns along the river, and other points of interest. Lynne was always right there if we needed, but respected our quiet time and privacy as well. Just lovely.
Perfect spot for peaceful, quiet weekend getaway. Property was better than expected. It felt secluded and private while not being too far of a drive to find shopping/restaurants. Although, other than taking a scenic drive we opted to stay put and enjoy the quiet. Interior is well appointed with whimsical touches that are a nod to the natural surroundings throughout. The owner, Lynne, was available for questions and nearby if needed, but respected our privacy. We are hoping to return soon!
A big slice of Heaven with a topping of whipped home
Exactly as described and then some. The warmth, playful details throughout the house, and the overall inviting coziness made this getaway more than memorable, more than perfect and incredibly difficult to depart from. Lynne was communicative, thoughtful and more than helpful throughout the whole process, and she has truly created a space that is both practical and fantastical. We will definitely be returning to enjoy the quiet beauty of the property as well as to explore more of what the area has to offer.
My husband and I had a great time in this beautiful place. I loved every detail of this house. It is a great place to go to to get away and enjoy the peacefulness of nature. Lynne was a great host.
Absolutely beautiful!! Host communication was awesome. Answered questions very quick threw app and was very informative. House was furnished beautifully, extremely clean "like white glove inspection clean", huge porch, and gas fireplace. Huge porch helped because it poured down rain all our 2nd day there. We still got to be outside with help from the large covered porch. Scenery was nice. Big field surrounding house that ends with a treeline where Shermans creek is. Creek was crystal clear. As for wildlife...saw a mating pair of bald eagles, foxes, turkeys, king fishers, various bird species and deer. Can't complain at all. If you want a peaceful getaway this is the place. We didn't want to come home.
I had an enjoyable weekend away. Communication with the seller was excellent. Property was exactly as described. I loved all the windows so I could see the beauty of the property wherever I was in the house. Heating was excellent even though the temps got below freezing at night. This was my first VRBO experience and I was a little nervous going alone. I felt completely safe and would definitely do it again.
Great little place to stay. Quite and private. Would be beautiful during the fall leave change. The owner is very nice and is close if you need anything.
We needed to get away from our busy work life. The pictures online do not do this place justice. It's larger than the pictures lead you to believe the inside is and they have added a swing bench on the porch. Hummingbirds at the feeder on the porch, a short walk to the creek even a few nice trails to walk around. Everything was clean and neat. We had no questions but the owner did reach out to see how we were doing. It is nice to get that extra bit of attention.
If you want a disconnect from your busy life go here.
I stayed in this home and experienced a symphony of sounds and several visits from animals during my stay. The owner was also very gracious when I overstayed my welcome (oops.). I 100% recommend this spot for time in the beautiful outdoors alone or with family. It was a great retreat.

Why they chose this property
My husband and I have lived on our lovely farm for 45 years. It is a pleasure to share what we have learned to take for granted. having guests here helps us see it with new eyes.
What makes this property unique
This valley is quiet. It offers wonderful views of nature, star gazing, peaceful evenings staring into the fire and a break from the tumult of the rest of the world.
