About this property
Stylish beach house with water frontage, central location near cycle/walk routes
Occupying a beachfront location with uninterrupted sea views of the Solent from East to West, the House at Ryde Sands is your idyllic island retreat.
A beautifully interior designed home with private gardens including a South-facing sun terrace and direct beach access to the sands at Ryde, this characterful cottage sleeps up to six people in three bedrooms and is ideally suited for those looking for a seaside family getaway or couples retreat.
With long, spacious stretches of sandy beach, a thriving independent shopping scene and fabulous eating out, Ryde is a quirky mix of a traditional seaside fun, Victorian architecture and unexpected hidden gems!
One of the UK's original seaside destinations and much loved by Queen Victoria, a trip on the FastCat or Hovercraft is part of the joy of a visit to Ryde. The town is easy and quick to get to from the mainland - perfect for a short break.
In summertime there is always something happening on weekends and in the evenings and the whole town is lively, whilst in the wintertime it is a great place for beautiful coastal walks. From our house you can walk straight onto the beach and along as far as you like!
The beach at Ryde has also become very popular for kite surfing (wind dependent) and our place is an excellent starting point for round the Island cycling.
You will find the House at Ryde Sands in a quiet residential area to the West of the pier, just a ten minute walk from Ryde town centre with it's fantastic array of local amenities and shopping.
We offer parking space for two cars in a gated driveway which is shared with our house next door.
GROUND FLOOR:
Entering into the house via a porch, the main front door leads to the hallway with storage for coats and shoes.
To the left is the galley kitchen with counter space, large fridge/freezer including water dispenser, oven, induction hob, dishwasher and microwave.
Next off the hallway is the main living space which enjoys breath-taking panoramic sea views across the Solent from the picture window and opens onto private enclosed gardens to the North. There is a feature gas-fire for cosy winter nights, a large-screen HDTV, comfortable seating from which to enjoy the views and a dining table seating up to six.
The handy downstairs shower and utility room also houses a separate toilet, sink, the washing machine and drying space for those beach items and wet-weather gear.
Lastly on the ground floor is Bedroom Three, a pretty South-facing double (king-size) bedroom with it's own large-screen HDTV and French doors leading to a peaceful courtyard with sun-terrace, the perfect spot for morning coffee.
FIRST FLOOR:
Take the stairs to the first floor landing and on the right is the elegant sea-facing Master (Superking or twin) Bedroom. With built-in wardrobes providing ample storage, floor-to-ceiling sliding doors lead onto a private balcony; wake up to stunning sea views and fall asleep listening to the sounds of the waves.
Bedroom Two upstairs is also reached from the landing and features twin beds, built in storage and a useful desk/home office space.
The shared upstairs bathroom has a bath, sink, toilet and separate shower.
OUTSIDE
The private gardens surrounding the house offer direct beach access and are completely enclosed on all sides. The area is a haven for local wildlife, including red squirrels.
To the North you will find the sea-facing gardens, split into different levels which slope gently down towards the beachfront: A a patio terrace which opens out from the living room with outdoor dining space, seating and a fire pit. A lawned area, plus a further terrace is a perfect spot to enjoy the evening sun. Take the wooden steps at the bottom of the garden and from here you can reach the beach via a private gate.
The gardens to the South include a sunny courtyard terrace with bench seating.
The garage provides ample storage if you are bringing bikes or water sports equipment and also houses the tumble dryer.
