About this property

Restored 19th century farmhouse apartment 1- charming farmland and town culture!

Brought back from the original bnb boarding house days of the 19th century is our 1 bedroom first floor apartment. Conveniently located on a peaceful country road 15 minutes from Hudson or Red Hook. This private apartment has its own entrance and outdoor patio. The house itself is surrounded by 12 acres of fields and forest that we welcome you to explore. Our dream is to make this place into a small homestead with sheep and chickens, a geo dome greenhouse, and a wood fired sauna. Hope you enjoy!

Easy

Everything was super easy and well explained. The location was great - NY countryside. The apartment was spacious, and the host generously shared from their bountiful garden. We would definitely stay again!

pastoral and scenic

My friend and I were in the area for the NY Sheep and wool festival (Rhinebeck). This charming apartment was just a quick country drive from all the events in Saugerties, Catskill, Rhinebeck and Hyde Park. The kitchen had everything we needed (except a coffee pot, but we knew that, so we brought our own). If there are 2 of you and you won't be sharing the one bed in the bedroom, I suggest you bring an air mattress or foam topper, as the pull-out couch has been "well-loved" and is not ideal for sleeping.

We enjoyed the large rooms and a good bed, but we had to call and email the host the day before we were to check-in for the directions and the check-in info. It wasn't until VBRO support notified the host that we got the info sheet. On arrival there were sheets, etc still going on hot in the dryer. A carton of milk and half eaten Talenti in the freezer. The front door opens to the original porch which was covered in lawn debrisThis wouldn't have been an issue if the welcome info had gone smoothly. We did enjoy the space and the good daylight throughout. There is an apt above which was in use. If the host demonstrated some care for the details it iwould be s a nice lodging again.

Exactly what I was hoping for …..

This property was exactly as described …. A lovely old farm house on a very quiet country road. Nicely and simply furnished and decorated. It is airy and light during the day and easy to find after dark in spite of the remote location. The family dogs are friendly, but not intrusive. Thank you, Sophia and family for making the apartment in your country home available to guests.
