Overall, we had a nice stay at the Creekside cabin. Home was clean, kitchen was well equipped with anything we needed to cook a meal, lots of space for 4 adults to enjoy a relaxing weekend away. We did encounter quite a bit of rain during our stay so we couldn't utilize any of the outdoor amenities on the property. The outdoor spaces seemed to be set up nicely though. Fortunately for us it was not extremely hot during our stay because the home does not have air conditioning. We were unaware of this prior to our stay. We also noticed somewhat of a musty smell even though we moved the dehumidifier from the garage game room to the main part of the house during our time there. We also could not utilize the game room because of the very musty smell in there. We kept the door closed from the house to the game room in order to help eliminate the smell coming into the house further. The home also does not have a TV. We were also unaware of this prior to arrival. It probably wouldn't have been a problem for us, however it was a rainy weekend and we couldn't be outside as much as we would have liked. We did purchase a TV while there and were able to utilize the internet to stream various movies. Cell service is very weak at and around the home, but internet works well. Just be sure to have directions and anything else needed loaded on your phone prior to leaving the residence. Overall nice stay, just a few suggestions and heads up for future travelers that we were unaware of.
Stayed here as a quick weekend getaway with my 13 yr old daughter. We did not spend a lot of time at the cabin, too much to do in the area! Plenty of options to do if you are there longer (games, firepit, etc). Convenient to Leland, Glen Arbor and many area destinations. Only hang up with returning with the full family, is we would need somewhere that allows our dog. We would definitely return if dog is not with us.
This is a comfortable and peaceful place in a wooded area beside a winery. The cottage has a nice sized game room, however it has a bit of a musty smell. That is the only reason I did not give 5 stars for cleanliness. Since we spent our days out enjoying the peninsula, this did not affect us at all. this was the first time we’ve been asked to take out the garbage of the previous tenant. I mention this because it was filled with dirty diapers and very odorous. I would recommend this place on the whole.
Amy is the best host! Anything we needed to ask, she had an answer or solution for! The house was clean and well kept, and fully stocked with anything we could’ve needed. It was the perfect location for all of our favorite beaches (Van’s, Empire and Good Harbor) and towns (Leland and Sutton’s Bay were ~10 minutes away, and Glen Arbor & Empire were about 30 minutes). My kids loved playing by the creek and hunting for frogs to catch every morning. There is no AC, but we really didn’t have any issues with that because the trees kept the house well shaded
This amazing home was tucked away in a peaceful wooded setting. My family was able to unplug and play board games and puzzles. A quick drive to a little beach. Lots of amazing hiking and costal towns near by. The host had fantastic recommendations and was very communicative.
We had a blast at Amy’s cabin! The space has more than enough room for two couples comfortably. The cabin had everything we needed and more. Quiet and secluded for bonfires under the stars, yet close to endless opportunities for fun — nature, restaurants, wineries, shopping. Truly a “choose your own adventure” type of place. We loved it and highly recommend!
Can we stay longer?? This was a perfect place for a weekend getaway! The house was really clean and had all the necessities, and the location was quiet and cozy. We enjoyed a campfire, the game room, and being about equidistant to the Dunes and Traverse City, as well as other great locations around. Amy was a great host, responding timely and was very helpful. We would stay here again!
We had a wonderful stay at this perfectly located home. We visited for a wedding in Sutton’s Bay and Welcome dinner in Maple City. The location was ideal. We had a nice dinner on our first night at Nittolo’s in Lake Leelanau - less than 10 minutes away. The house was very clean and we made use of the outdoor fire pit.
We didn’t miss the lack of TVs - we played games when we returned from our activities instead. It was actually nice to ‘unplug’. The only negative was the extra large wooden bed frame in the Queen room. We kept bumping it the sides of it.
Thanks for sharing your home. We would stay again!
I stayed here with friends to enjoy the Traverse City / Leelanau Peninsula area. The property was quiet, well appointed, and had everything we needed to enjoy our time there. The beds were very comfortable. There wasn't a TV, which was fine. We picked up a bundle of wood and took advantage of the fire pit. There were also numerous games available. The power went out for a few hours the first night there. We informed the host who reported it and did an excellent job of communicating restoration updates to us. She checked back with us the following morning to make sure the power had been restored. Instructions for check-in and check out were very clear, and the host was very responsive. Would definitely recommend staying here, especially if you want to visit the area, but not be close to town.
House was spacious for a 2bed/2bath and clean! Pretty much on a private little road with LOTS of nature surrounding you! Was perfect for our family vacation .. lots of shopping within a 20-30 min time frame...Only downfall for me was the service in the area but that is expected when you are in the woods! Overall 10/10 HIGHLY recommend
This property is centrally located for activities on the Leelanau Peninsula and M-22 corridor. The setting is rustic and quiet, and the property is comfortable and well equipped. The property manager is responsive and accommodating. We would consider returning to this location in the future.
My spouse, two teenaged sons and I have stayed in several rental properties over the past few years, and this may be the only one that surpassed our expectations (based on the photos and listing). The beds are extremely comfortable, the kitchen is well stocked, and the place seems to have been recently built and/or renovated -- everything is clean, uncluttered, and very welcoming (warm and perfectly placed lighting -- overhead on dimmers, lamps, etc.)! The outdoor fire pit under the clear Michigan sky was fantastic. It's rural Michigan at its finest -- SO quiet, with towering trees and nature all around. The game room was great, too -- stocked with several games and decks of cards. The owner was gracious and a great communicator!
Cute Place, Nice Amenities, Great Central Location
The location is a great launching point to experience all the area has to offer. Are within a 20 mile radius of Glen Arbor, Leland, Sutton’s Bay, Traverse City, several inland lake and Lake Michigan beaches.
The house was nicer than the pictures depict and offered plenty of room and privacy for 2 adults and 2 teens. As another reviewer noted, the house is close to the road, but we experienced little to no traffic the entire week we were there. Very quiet and serene setting. We did not want for anything; has a well stocked kitchen, indoor game room, inviting outdoor area with outdoor games, and gas or wood evening fire options. The hostess Amy was accessible for questions and even checked during our stay to see if we needed anything. We definitely recommend this place for your next vacation.
Our stay was outstanding! From the outset Amy was highly responsive and kind, providing clear information. The rental was just as described! I was a little worried about being so close to the road, but quickly discovered that only 3-4 cars passed by in any given afternoon, so not an issue at all!
We had all the amenities we needed and the space was cozy and comfy. The patio and firepit were such a great feature and we used them almost every day. Two bed/two bath was perfect for 2 couples. Ample space to mill around and get ready for the wedding we were attending over the weekend. Furniture was all comfortable and we felt at home for the long weekend. Looking forward to staying again next year some time!
Loved the country privacy but close to Sutton’s Bay, Fishtown and Pierce Stocking Dr (Sleeping Bear Dunes) area. Liked having the two bedrooms and two bathrooms for two couples to rent. Cute art decor and comfortable living room area for evening relaxation.
The property was exactly what we were looking for! Centrally located, we had easy access to hiking (Sleeping Bear area, Clay Cliffs); fishing (Lake Leelanau), and the attractions of Traverse City. The house was clean and comfortable, and everything was provided for. We had the option of using either the gas or wood fire pit in the evening. The home wifi and electrical outlets on the patio allowed us to stream our music while sitting around the fire in a secluded setting. We had a great time and highly recommend this property!
Amy's place was a great basecamp for our stay in the Lake Leelanau area. It was a short drive to Sleeping Bear Dunes, Traverse City, and Old Mission Peninsula for some wine tasting. There was a great game room and a gas firepit out back which is great for entertaining inside and out. Loved our stay here and would recommend for a getaway!
