This yurt was absolutely PERFECT for our honeymoon! My husband and I stayed here for 2 days and 3 nights, and not only was it absolutely gorgeous and secluded, Bill is so hands on and helpful, his kindness made this experience infinitely better. We can’t wait to plan our return trip!
Cute and eclectic. The only thing we had to complain about was, it was freezing in there with only a small space heater to warm us in November… it was cold!!
We had such a cozy and memorable stay! What was planned as a rest stop between 2 family get-togethers became the highlight of our weekend!
The yurt was so warm, welcoming, and well-appointed! The personal touches and care Bill put into the details make it stand out beyond the unique structure. We can’t wait to come back when we can stay even longer!
Absolutely love the yurt and the surrounding property! Bill was an excellent host and I made good friends with the Yurt cat that roams the outside of the property. Took a nice stroll around the property while sipping on some excellent coffee. Ran into Bill during my stroll and had a very pleasant conversation! If you’re looking for a peaceful and positive energy space to rest your weary soul, this is the place for you!!
Had a blast At the yurt Visited the state penitentiary ghost tour and hung out at the yurt before and after. Was fun. Glad it didnt get any colder cause it was chilly at night
My first VRBO booking, booked for wife's birthday and to eat at nearby Claysville Store. Address took us right to owner's property driveway, signs posted The toilet is a vault, but it is uniquely decorated and clean. Take time to look at the decor and read all the notes left by prior guests. Fall would be nest time to visit.
Perfect place to unplug and rest, relax & recharge. Pictures do not do it justice. Bill was very responsive to our needs.

Excellent stay at the Floating Yurt
Tranquil and an absolute joy
Our hosts were attentive to our needs and had everything ready and tip top shape for our arrival
Beautiful scenery which had a private trail and a pond
The Yurt was in excellent condition and we had a restful evening
Would stay again when in the area
we had an overnight birthday. Everyone lived the get away. Quiet. Owner so friendly and accommodating.
It stormed, we stayed dry and the sound was so relaxing
We stayed only 1 night, and the yurt was charming, and clean and everything was as advertised.
The deck was great-- very relaxing to sit amongst the trees.
Location was perfect for a visit the Elder Blossom View winery in New Bloomfield--a fun place, open only on weekend evenings, for music and elderberry drinks and products.
Hope to come back and visit again soon!
My husband, sister in law & brother in law all stayed at Bill’s Yurt. It was great! We had plans to go to the Missouri State penitentiary for a ghost hunt/tour. Bill was great at making check in easy, his directions were spot on, he gave recommendations for places to eat & even left a little note in the yurt with chocolate which we all thought was the sweetest thing. This was honestly one of the most laid back VRBO stays all of us had stayed in. Bill literally made everything so easy & communication with him was even easier. If we ever come back to the area we will definitely be trying to stay there again.
We will be back! Hopefully in the fall, and I think that says it all!
We just loved it, unique and all the comforts of home! Bill was a great host and we will be frequent Yurt guests!
An interesting and quaint little property. It was fun discovering all the little treasures that make this property one of a kind. It had all the comforts of home…well except a flush toilet. But even the outhouse was nice. A quiet and relaxing atmosphere.
What a brief blissful stay - must stay longer next time
Our arrival was just after dusk, and the yurt was lit up and welcoming. Cleopatra the cat greeted us just after our host Bill pointed us down to the road to the yurt. I realized that a cat visit was just the ticket after a six hour drive.
The yurt is beautifully appointed and super comfortable. The night sounds of the forest were wonderful, and having Cleopatra keep me company in the hammock on the deck soothed my jangled travel nerves immensely. My sister arrived day two to attend a concert at the CRMU Amphitheater with me which had wonderful weather and then - big bonus - when we returned to the yurt we enjoyed an overnight thunderstorm with that big beautiful skylight. It was magical!
My wife and I came down to Missouri from Minnesota for a wedding in Jefferson City. We wanted to stay somewhere different then all the hotels reserved for the wedding. We enjoy nature, outdoors, camp fires, water, and making our own meals instead of going out to eat.
We came across this Yurt and thought “Why Not”
After reading the description of the place we felt it would be just perfect for our stay.
We arrived late at night and Thankfully the owners left the outside lights on as well as inside. Thank you!!!
The Yurt was nicely settled in the woods with a trail heading down the hill to a stream. Beautiful walk! The inside of the Yurt was decorated with a touch of whimsical that made it fun! Enjoyed reading little notes here and there.
The shower and sink were very useful inside the yurt. I must say …. The outhouse was very whimsical, clean, and had all the comforts needed to use. We did use it and works just fine to as one should. Bed was comfortable and we slept nicely. We made a campfire with the nicely dried wood provided on our deck. Kitchen was fully stocked with necessities and the umbrella by the front door was nice since it did rain and we needed it. Again - THANK YOU!
We loved our stay and highly recommend it for a couple or family.
Thank you
