About this property

Borrow a Private Lake on 850 Acres and a Cozy Boathouse

Modern, clean, and surprisingly spacious, our renovated historic boathouse is the perfect place to begin your restorative reconnection with nature, yourself, and your loved ones. Sitting perfectly on the water's edge, we’ve purposefully designed every aspect of this experience to pull your consciousness into the natural world around you. As you leave your car and walk past the original outdoor fireplace and towards the entrance, you’ll want to pause for a moment to take in the beauty of the forest. Ahead of you awaits a vacation unlike any other.

Slip off your shoes in the main foyer as you make your way into the lower floor of the boathouse. In front of you, you’ll see two beautiful bedrooms with sliding door access to the lake. We recommend starting your days off by taking in the stunning views of Lake Vanderkamp from the comfort of your cozy bed. To your left is the shower room with a separate vanity and water closet, and to your right, a staircase to the upper floor.

When you make your way up this staircase you’ll immediately find yourself immersed in a bright and open living space accented by high contrast vaulted ceilings as well as the original indoor fireplace and clerestory windows. Listen to the crackling of flames while you prepare your dinner or enjoy the warmth of the sun on your face as you relax in one of many areas we’ve converted to help you slow things down.

In the evening, you may want to make way through either of the two sets of French doors behind you, where you’ll emerge into our sitting room, a place where only a privileged few have enjoyed the unmatched panoramic views of our piece of paradise. Relax in our wooden arc hammock or sip a glass of wine in one of our rocking chairs while you watch the sunset over the forest.

When the weather permits, be sure to enjoy your very own private dock and personal canoe that you can use to explore the lake. Early morning rows across the misty water will make for some of the most enchanting moments of your stay with us.

While at Vanderkamp you’ll borrow 850 acres of privately managed natural habitat with 9 miles of hiking trails and tons of amenities. You won't want to leave this ultimate escape.

Unbeatable View

The Boathouse is literally on the water with all of the amenities you need to take in the pond and nature. It is a quiet and serene area. My only recommendation is load up with beer, wine and food before arriving. You won’t want to leave and there isn’t much food in area.

Must Stay!

What an absolutely gorgeous place! The Boathouse is beautifully designed with all modern comforts while retaining its rustic charm. The bedrooms are cozy and waking up to a view of the misty lake is divine. The kitchen is perfectly stocked for a short or long stay and the fire place kept us toasty over the rainy days. It feels secluded and private and is an excellent spot to completely unwind. I hope to visit again!

Amazing!

We loved our stay at The Boathouse. The location is absolutely idyllic and a perfect place to relax and rejuvenate. Our favorite thing to do was to just sit in the Adirondack chairs on the deck and watch the sunset. We would love to return.
