We spent 5 nights here while our grandson was attending a conference at Georgetown University.The area around Surreybrooke Cabin is beautiful.The grounds are quiet and well kept.There is very little traffic on the road leading to the cabin.The cabin is in reasonable proximity to several Civil War Battlefields which is where we spent our time away from the cabin.The cabin itself is very unique! the ground level consists of a living room and the outside porch is comfortable. the lower level is the kitchen area. What can I say! This cabin was extremely well stocked! The cooking utensils were in great condition and of good quality. I would however recommend that the knives be sharpened. We ate breakfast (thanks for the home made scones, my favorite) and our evening meal in the well appointed kitchen.One evening we grilled steaks out on the patio, which had everything you needed to grill.The upper level consisted of a very large bedroom. The bedding was comfortable and there were lots of sitting options. The shower arrangements were the only area were we had difficulty. The clawfoot tub adds nostalgia to the accommodations but it was extremely difficult to get in and out of due to the height of the sides and nothing to grab hold of. Also, the shower curtain leaves a lot to be desired! I personally would forget the nostalgia and put in a shower stall. On a final note, I would highly recommend Surreybrooke cabin and would certainly stay there again. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Beautiful and relaxing

Property was beautifully manicured. Cabin was rustic but comfortable with all the comforts of home. I loved sitting on the huge wrap around porch in the morning listening to the birds and watching the sunrise.

Cute weekend getaway

This little cabin is adorable and was a very charming place to spend a weekend away with my loved one. The attention to details with extra towels, scones and other snacks in the fridge, and several soaps/bath scrubs available made the experience above and beyond any other rental I have stayed at. I would happily book here again and would definitely recommend to any couple for a nice weekend away.

Couples getaway

Went to some of the civil war sights and sight seeing hiked a few trails cabin is right near anything you could want for restaurants and shops but is far enough way from towns so it is very quiet at night spent every evening on the back porch enjoying the peace love the history of the cabin as well

A great escape

Oaisis during vacation adventure

Wonderful cabin with all you could need. Fantastic location to many many attractions activities, especially if you enjoy history. Cabin is so cozy and the decorations are real enjoyable and every where you look is something you didn't see before. Host was terrific to work with and helpul. Resetve a visit you will not regret it.

Our second visit to this little slice of heaven

This was our second trip to Surreybrooke Cabin all the way from California. That right there should tell you something. But this place is so worth every second of travel to get there. This cabin has become our own little haven from the normal hustle and bustle of life. From the moment you drive up, it's like an immediate feeling of peace and serenity fills your soul. When we walked inside the cabin, we were instantly greeted by that familiar smell of wood and spice. I don't know how to explain it. This place has its own smell and it is one that I will always cherish. It smells like calm, warmth, love, and peace. I could go on and on about this wonderful place, but I'll keep it short. Everything was once again....perfect. Fully equipped kitchen, stunning views, all the modern amenities with the fully rustic charm and history. Enjoying coffee on the wraparound deck and watching the pony graze in the distance is how I wish I could spend every morning. The gardens are beautiful and full of life. Lush and fervently cared for. The check in and out processes were seamless. Everything was just perfect. My husband and I cannot wait for our next visit to Surreybrooke.

An amazing getaway

Took my girlfriend for a weekend away turned up better than hopes for with the country view and the place was very nice she loved it everything about the place was wonderful I'd recommend it to anyone for nice quiet weekend away or longer

Great Cabin

I brought my wife here for her 50th birthday and she enjoyed everything about the place. The cabin it's self is in excellent condition and is centrally located between many points of interest. We really enjoyed how peaceful the area is and I have not seen her this relaxed in a long time.

Cabin Charm

Loved the feel of this authentic cabin from the moment we walked up to the front porch. Charmed by the decor and impressed with the level of amenities the owners provided, this was one of our favorite VRBO finds. We wish the weather allowed us to enjoy the mountain view while sitting on the back patio with a fire, but alas, it was just too damp and cold. We stayed toasty warm inside. The fully stocked kitchen was a bonus. The only drawbacks - that should not deter anyone, but just to be aware- were the double bed size and the tub shower which each took getting used to and the traffic noise due to close proximity of interstate 70. We hope to visit again when we can enjoy the outdoors and the gardens nearby.

great hospitality

With three levels, the cabin is more spacious than we expected. The owners are experienced hosts, and thought of everything to make our stay comfortable. The kitchen is well-stocked, the light switches are in intuitively obvious places, and it was no problem acclimating quickly. We used the binder clips (provided) to clip the shower curtains together when we took a shower in the bathtub, to reduce splashing. We’d like to return when the Surreybrooke Gardens are flowering.

Rustic mountain farm

Such a charming, beautifully landscaped setting! Once inside we were challenged by the 3 story layout: kitchen in the basement and bedroom upstairs. But it was worth it! The bed was very comfortable and everything we could need or want was provided. Yes, the shower in the claw foot tub was another challenge, but doable and, again, charming. The kitchen was well-stocked and scones were waiting for us. Thank you for a perfect home away from home while attending a conference.

Like home away from home

We were married 18 yrs ago at Dahlgren Chapel and wanted to return to visit. Blessed to have found this Beautiful property and cabin so close to the chapel and the Appalachian Trail. Very peaceful and comfortable. Wrap around porch and views are beautiful and calming. The bed was comfortable. All of the rooms very cozy with so many thoughtful additions that made us feel comfortable and welcomed. Everything was stocked very well including all types of toiletries and a thoughtfully stocked fridge. We had a wonderful time and hope to return. Very dog friendly. Ivy enjoyed her stay as well. Thank you again for sharing your wonderful property with us.

Wedding haven

Fantastic, adorable, and breath taking. I stayed here the night before my wedding as well as my wedding night. The charm cant be matched. The gardens are some of the best I've ever had the pleasure to see. I ove this special slice of heaven and will definitely be back!

Wonderful weekend retreat

We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. The scones left for us were delicious and there were lots of food/pantry items that were also there for use. The location of the cabin was convenient to the hiking we enjoyed all weekend, and the restaurants where we ate in Middletown were great. Would definitely recommend for a couple getaway!

Pure relaxation

This cabin is wonderful! It is quiet and comfortable and takes you back in time. The property is absolutely beautiful and peaceful. The adjoining Surreybrooke Gardens are unbelievable and should not be missed either. I will definitely be back again.
