Pet Policy: Pets are not allowed at this property. If guests are caught with a pet, guests may be subject to an immediate cancellation without refund. If evidence is found after your stay, there will be a $150 penalty for rule violation.
Inventory: We provide a "starter package" of inventory for our cabin: 3 rolls of T.P. and 1 full roll of paper towels.

gorgeous property and surrounding area. Relaxed at the house around the fire and balcony, fished the pond. Great area to catch the wine trail. Several wineries within 15-20 min drive.

Ladies wine weekend

Beautiful property with an amazing view. It was the perfect place to access the local wineries during the day and enjoy each other's company playing cards and catching up. We were able make some great dinners and enjoy the firepit. Great property can't wait to come back!

Beautiful private home with outstanding view

We very much enjoyed our weekend at this wonderful home. Everything was clean and well decorated. Kitchen is well stocked. Communication with host was easy and quick. Beautiful backyard with firepit and bluff views. Front deck is very large and provides a gorgeous view. Would definitely recommend to others staying in the area & would love to visit again one day.

Amazing views and privacy

Very well stocked house. The owners don't expect you to bring your own supplies which makes the stay more relaxing. The bluffs behind the house are incredible. Views out front gorgeous. Nearby hiking and wineries. Great stay:)

Peaceful and surean

We celebrated my husbands 80th birthday with the kids and grandkids. We spent time fishing and outdoor time and games at night. Kids and grands came from Springfield, IL, Colorado and California. Our 8 year described the house as a cabin and the downstairs as a hotel.

Family graduation weekend

My husband and adult children spent the weekend in this lovely home for our daughter’s SIU law school graduation.The home has incredible views from all rooms.The kitchen was very well equipped and the bedrooms were very comfortable.We were happy to have found this home and highly recommend.

Perfect Getaway

What a fabulous weekend at Rock Ridge! Fishing, hiking, S’mores & laughter around the campfire, stargazing, the list goes on! 4 adults and 3 kids ages 8-12 - never lacking something to do! Allison was fantastic to communicate with, just made things go so smoothly. Thank you again and we’ll be back.

Amazing getaway

Beautiful property close to hiking trails. We took our two boys (4 and7) who had a great time at the cabin as well as the surrounding hiking trails. Giant city was the best along with a trip to Boo park. The cabin is very nice with everything you need to cook. We had deer come around the property every morning and evening. If you want to get away, this is a great place to relax and explore.

Wow! So secluded and quiet. There are few views in IL that can rival this one! This rental has it all. Clean, spacious, and so relaxing. You can see every star in the galaxy from the deck. The owners are awesome!

A perfect place to reconnect with family, friends, and nature.

Spent Memorial Day on the property with family and our friend's family. The drive up is gorgeous and the view from the living room is breathtaking. Perfect for enjoying a cup of coffee in the morning or for stargazing at night. Property was well kempt and the owner was very responsive anytime we had a question. It was an easy drive to the numerous sites in the Shawnee National Forest. We would definitely stay here again and we would recommend this property to anyone interested in spending quality time with friends or family.

The perfect indoor and outdoor space for any age.

The layout of this house is perfect for 2 -3 families. The inside space is lovely and cozy, and the outside property is wonderful for exploring without even driving anywhere. I don't think you can get any more privacy or access to such beautiful private bluffs and forest trails than here. We hosted a family reunion with people coming from all over the country. The huge balcony with a spectacular view was perfect for the family photo and for relaxing. A short drive gets you to the Shawnee Canopy Tour zip line, several forest hikes, and at least 5 wineries. We could not have asked for a more perfect location or living space than Rock Ridge! Also the property manager was very accommodating and available to answer all of our questions .

Beautiful View

We stayed in this beautiful home over Memorial Day Weekend. The home was gorgeous and full of space. Very clean! We just loved the view from all of the windows. Enjoyed the peace and quiet and a bonus was being able to fish in the private pond. Thank you Mary for all of your help. The only negative is the top floor loft bedroom does not have privacy. The stairs leading up to the loft opens directly into the bedroom and there are no curtains on any of the windows up there. (just a note, so multiple couples as we had can be informed).

Absolutely Breathtaking

The view is amazing. There's everything you could need at the cabin. Make sure to drive up slowly and take in the amazing view!!! We absolutely LOVED our stay.

Wow

Amazing house, with the most beautiful scenery. Pictures just don't really show how beautiful it is. Setting on the deck and being able to see a Hummingbird, bats and a blue tailed skink. Overall everything was great. A few housekeeping issues in the kitchen. I would definitely stay here again.

Relaxing retreat

The property is beautiful. Sitting on the decks in the evening and hearing the sounds of nature was so relaxing. The home was spotless, and had everything we needed. Great location for hiking and biking!
