You can walk to a shuttle for skiing, but we made the .2 mile drive to free parking and the tram for skiing. Place was fine. Only complaint is that hot water was limited; it was not possible for two people to shower consecutively. Also could use more interior lighting, as it’s a bit dark. But everything else was great and super convenient.
While nicely appointed, the condo was too small for three adults with ski gear. It was close enough to walk to the shuttle, if not the ski hill and was fine for three nights. Wouldn't have been as much fun for a week. Also seemed to be pricy, given our experience on the same trip in Jackson Hole and Sun Valley where we found better value for the money.
We had an awesome Christmas ski vacation at Big Sky! The condo is walking distance (about 5 minutes) from the free shuttle to the resort village. We had everything we needed and the beds and pillows were so comfortable! We hope to stay her again, it is a gem of a place to stay!
We enjoyed our time in Big Sky. The condo had everything we needed. Soldier Chapel was my favorite attraction. Alberto’s in the Meadows had great food. Sadly, we didn’t get to hike here due to the grizzly situation and closing of trails, but we drove to Yellowstone and enjoyed the day. The perk of staying here was the washer and dryer!

2 nights in Big sky
We liked how cute and little the unit was. Was good proximity to all things Big Sky. There was a bit of construction happening on the building. Made it tough on parking and noise. The dishes were filthy. I mean really gross. My son would not use anything because there was a chunk of something on the rim of a glass and he put it to his mouth. I went to grab a clean mug. It was as if someone had eaten oatmeal out of it and put it back in the cabinet. Other glasses and silverware were also dirty. After that, no one used any dishes Just wanted to let you know. Thanks
We are two senior women and would not stay here again. There were three flights of stairs and quite a walk from the car. Luckily we carried bags and not suitcases. The lock box was so old and hard for us to use. I did message the host to share my concerns and he said he would mention stairs in the description and replace the lockbox. Again, young people who want to ski here would do just fine.

Disliked: Amenities, property conditions & facilities, communication
WiFi and TV never worked. It’s not walkable to the lifts in ski boots. At one point the toilet didn’t flush the poop, we eventually fixed it ourselves. Instead of fixing the owner called me and threatened to change more for every person over 2 even though it’s listed to sleeps 4. Owner didn’t reply to the messages. The check in was nerve recking as the owner didn’t provide the unit # and key information until the last moment. Also hot water stopped working in the bathroom sink, but I didn’t report as it was useless anyway. Every communication took multiple calls from me to owner. The unit is not managed and not maintained.

We booked the condo for a long ski weekend in early February. The property descriptions of “walking distance to lifts/Mountain Village” and “just a short walk” to dining and all activities in Big Sky base area need to be modified. We relied upon these descriptions, and our belief that taxis or Uber/Lyft would be readily available, to not rent a car, and took the shuttle from Bozeman airport to the condo. We quickly learned that there was a single taxi service, which was booked solid during our stay, and there is no Uber/Lyft. As we did not have a car, for dinner each night we had to walk to the Mountain Village on a snow/ice covered road, that had uphills both ways. Also, the lifts were not what would anyone consider to be a walkable distance for a person carrying ski equipment. We luckily found that there was a ski shuttle lot for the BigSky resort that was a walkable few minutes away from the condo, and took the shuttle (which was about a 5 minute ride) to the resort - the shuttle saved the day for our trip to the lifts each day. The condo’s amenities were decent for a ski weekend place, and the owner was responsive to get us into the condo when we returned after a day of skiing to find the front door lock broken and that we could not enter the condo. Note to bring shampoo and body soap for the shower, and most importantly have a car in Big Sky.
No hot water from bathroom faucet (hot water line not connected?)
After using laundry machine, water discharged onto floor from dishwasher. We had not run dishwasher. A myriad of issues cascaded from here: laundry, dishwasher, kitchen sink all on same drain line.
Cabinet secured with cable lock preventing access, had to remove handle in order to remove cable lock and then proceed to clean out from under sink to get access to drain line hose and zip tie to top of garbage disposal to prevent back flow on drain line.
Owner does not have reliable service personnel available (provides "off season/weekend/early hrs (10am)" as excuses) , expects tenants to be plumbers and electricians to make things work in his unit. He denies responsibility and takes no accountability, instead gas lights tenants. Owner is in VA and owns a unit that lacks proper maintenance and has obvious signs of rodent activity (scat, chewed tissue paper in bathroom drawer).
Hot water heater trips circuit breaker, could reset it the first time, but by 2nd evening had no hot water and owner couldn’t get service people onsite until Monday.
We requested he cancel our last night and he said it was outside of cancellation policy and likely “user error”. Claims service tech checked Monday (after our checkout) and that everything worked. Given we already departed we cannot disprove this claim, but for the last 24hrs of our stay there was no hot water.
