Bring the whole family!
Get away from it all with a stay in a well-appointed, historical vacation home on Cape Cod.
Situated in the village of Eastham on the bay side of the beautiful New England peninsula, Ambergris Gables sits on a private one acre lot conveniently located near beaches, swimming ponds, hiking and biking trails, shops, restaurants, and even a drive-in movie theatre.
Three bedrooms plus the Gable Room can sleep eight in the main house with Owl's Nest Cottage further able to accommodate two adults and two kids. Split A/C units in the kitchen, living room and each of the bedrooms efficiently keep the house cool, especially when combined with the whole house fan on the second floor. Three full bathrooms in the main house (one with a steam shower and another with a full sized bathtub), plus another in the cottage means there's never a queue for the loo. The outdoor shower is covered by roses and is a nice way to start the day or rinse off after a day at the beach.
The expansive, well-stocked kitchen and farmhouse dining table (seats eight) allows for family meals together whether you're grilling outside, wok-frying, sous-viding, or picking up tasty treats from one of the many nearby local restaurants. Or dine outside under the umbrellas in a landscaped garden after a grueling game of croquet, cornhole or cricket.
Owl's Nest Cottage is situated in a secluded location on the back of the lot. Constructed using reclaimed wood from the barn that previously stood on the property, it features a wrap-around porch, kitchenette, wood-burning fireplace, and its own Weber gas grill. The upstairs bedroom has a queen bed plus a sleeping nook with a trundle day bed perfect for two children. There are A/C window units upstairs and down to keep you cool on those hot days.
Ambergris Gables & Owl's Nest Cottage are a short walk to both Boat Meadow Beach and Rock Harbor - the sunset views from either are not to be missed! A five minute drive gets you to First Encounter Beach, a beautiful spot for floating down the estuary, or if you'd rather play in the waves, Coast Guard Beach is just a ten minute drive away.
