Cozy cottage within walking distance of almost everything
Come and enjoy yourself in our semi-detached cottage during your stay in the heart of Amish country. Located close to everything while still being on a quiet street. Enjoy your morning coffee on our newly constructed covered deck located at the back of the house or take a quick walk down the street and allow the Bluegate Restaurant to make it for you. We are close to multiple playgrounds, miles of beautiful paved walking and biking paths, downtown shops and of course the flea market. There is a full service kitchen including a replica vintage stove. The master bedroom is located on the main floor off of the kitchen diner. It contains a queen bed and en-suite with both a shower and stand alone tub. While located on the first floor the master bedroom does a have a slight 2" step up. The second bathroom can be found at the bottom of the stairs just off of the living room. There is a queen bed hidden in the sofa. Up the stairs you will find bedroom #2 with a double bed and bedroom #3 with 2 twin beds. While these bedrooms are not connected with the central air system, each room has a window a/c to make sure that everyone sleeps comfortably even on the hottest night. Through the kitchen we have a recently renovated laundry room.

We stayed two nights in March. The house was cozy and in a great location relative to the downtown area. It was a very relaxing weekend with low stress and the clip-clop of the horse and buggy always in the background. We will stay again!
We bring our sewing machines and have a mental health week enjoying each other’s company, a clean house and a beautiful community. The local shops are delightful. We are repeat visitors to this property. Highly recommend!!!
We once again greatly enjoyed our stay. The house is very welcoming and comfortable. We appreciate your attention to detail. Too bad it's already rented out for next year. We will miss staying here. Thanks for everything.
It was perfect for our group. We went to a concert at the blue gate event center, shopped, ate great food, and had a great time. It was nice having the house so close to everything.
Steps to the 2 second floor bedrooms are VERY STEEP and you must avoid hitting your head on the low ceiling going down them.
Cannot park in the drive which we don’t find out until 3 days before the trip, and tornado sirens sounded the one day but the basement of the house was LOCKED OFF and couldn’t be accessed. So we sat in the kitchen and waited out the storm
Could get NO local stations on the tv
Cozy Cottage was a nice getaway. The Shipshewana Flea Market is a short drive into town. The Dish TV was helpful for so.e nights of sleeplessness. The host, Jessica, was responsivewas and helpful. Thank you.
I spent 2 nights with my friends from college (We are turning 70 next year. The peaceful atmosphere, beautiful back deck, and easy walk to shopping was just as promised. Stairs were steep but we knew that going in. Thank you
House was in a great location and could easily walk to all of the shops. House was very cozy with a lot of room and amenities. Back porch area was very pleasant to sit out on. Was told that we could park on street; however, street is not overly wide and with it being Labor Day Weekend, there was a lot of traffic so didn't feel comfortable parking on street. Able to park in lot one block over but not convenient. Would be nice to have additional parking in back. Thanks for a great stay!!!
The house was cute & very clean! Location was perfect for walking to things! Will definitely recommend to friends. Big enough for 2 couples to stay if spouses were to go with us.
Only awkward thing was parking on the street. I drive a Suburban & I was the only one parked on the street the whole time. I took up half the lane. Ha!
Friends were coming up to stay in the Shipshe area, see a concert one night, and just unplug and relax. This home was absolutely PERFECT. It had enough room for everyone to have their space, but areas to have combined fun and play games in too! It was clean, had everything we needed, and the host was communicative with questions about best places to park and whatnot. When I stay up in the area in the future, I'll do my best to plan around using this property each time. Thank you!!!
Perfect place to stay for a girls weekend. House was very clean and well furnished. Within walking distance to almost all shops. The back porch was especially nice to sit out under at night. Very easy instructions for arriving and leaving. Thanks for making our stay so enjoyable!

Raised in Shipshewana, I have loved exploring this town and the surrounding areas. I actually attended the elementary school located just down the street. After getting married I moved to a town nearby but love to take our 3 young kids to "Shipshe" regularly.
Why they chose this property
This cottage was where my grandmother called home for 30+ years. It is filled with so many fond memories for myself and my entire family. It is our hope that this house can continue to fill many other hearts and minds with wonderful memories of times shared together.
