About this property

Dream Chaser Chalet at Nanatahala Lake- Kayaks/Dock/Firepit/Game Room/Movie Room

There is something extra special about these mountains. Take the time to breathe the fresh air, and listen to nature arise, while enjoying the tranquility that the mountains surrounding Nantahala Lake have to offer.

This beautiful Chalet is located off Nantahala Lake in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina, surrounded by the Nantahala National Forest. Nantahala Lake sits at 3,012 feet in elevation one of the highest lakes. The property is just shy of 1 acre and sits on top of a hill surrounded by nature. It is located in the Little Choga gated community right outside of the known town of Andrews, NC. Dream Chaser is a 3 bedroom 3 ½ bath BOHO/Rustic style chalet. We wanted to bring new and vintage together to stay true to the area and home.
Dream Chaser being located in the quiet Little Choga private community allows you to go on morning or afternoon walks with not many cars coming in and out of the area. The area is known for whitewater rafting, kayaking, river tubing, canoeing, camping, fishing, mountain hiking and biking, and snow skiing. It is also known for its history surrounding the Cherokee Indians and has the Cherokee Indian Reservation & Casino located nearby.

ABOUT THE LAKE:
Nantahala Lake is a clear deep over 100 feet deep in some areas. In the spring and summer, they raise the water of the lake, while during the fall and winter months they lower it. Unlike many other lakes, Nantahala is surrounded by the Nantahala National Forest and is not overpopulated with homes as many areas are part of the forest. The lake is also home to many fish including Large and Smallmouth Bass, Walleye, Rainbow and Brown Trout. The lake is home to the Kokanee Salmon which is a salmon primarily located in the west (ex. Alaska, Oregon), yet thrives in Nantahala Lake and is the only place in the southeast United States where they can be found.

Beautiful views & cabin

We did have a few problems finding the place, but the neighbors were wonderful, helping to navigate the mountain. As soon as you start up the mountain you lose Wi-Fi and phone connection. (all stated in the directions but we didn't realize just how quick we would lose service. There was plenty of recreation supplies. The place was pretty and we really enjoyed sitting on the porch in the mornings, and a fire in the fire pit at night. Bring extra towels if you can. I would recommend it and would go back! again if we have the chance!!

Wonderful experience

This is a wonderful home. Our host was quick to answer any of our questions. The house was immaculate. There were seven of us total, all adults, and there was plenty of space. My three kids and two significant others. My kids are all in college and we went over fall break. We all wish we had more time. This is a home that we will visit again in the future, and stay for a longer time.
