About this property

The Owl's Nest @ Manitou: Mtn Views on Main Street

Welcome to The Owl's Nest, our condo with stunning mountain views in Manitou Springs, Colorado, centrally located along the river and the downtown mainstreet. If you are looking for an idyllic location for a mountain get-away at the epicenter of outdoor recreation in the Pikes Peak region (near Colorado Springs) - with countless family and cultural amenities, steps from restaurants, bars, cafes and local shops - this listing is for you!

Our place is a spacious, loft-style condo with high-ceilings and an open concept living room/dining room area. The light-filled living room opens to a set of spectacular french doors overlooking mountain views and and downtown Manitou Springs. We have free, high-speed internet, a private balcony, rooftop deck, and a cozy, clean and relaxing interior that will make you want to book for an extended stay.

The Owl's Nest is outfitted with high-end furnishings, including luxury Tuft and Needle mattresses with high thread count, Egyptian Cotton sheets and a modular sofa that can sleep as a bed. The master bedroom is split into a up/down loft with a king-sized bed on the bottom in a master compartment, that also enjoys a small sitting area and a cutting edge SONY LED TV. Watch movies from your bed, or cozy up for a conversation in the two sitting chairs at the foot of the bed while winding-down your evening.

There is a loft immediately above the master compartment with a soaring skylight, queen sized bed and loveseat that is accessible by a ladder/vertical stair. The loft floor squeeks a bit in spots, but is very cozy and feels like an escape in the clouds with a high-end Tuft and Needle mattress, high-thread count sheets, comfy pillows and blankets. Our home is named after this loft which we think of as the "The Owl's Nest" perched above the unit. The skylight above the loft is a large, historic feature that has a ton of character. The skylight is not very energy efficient so it can be warmer in the summer and drafty in the winter. We provide warm blankets and install a plastic vapor barrier in winter over the loft to make it more comfortable.

The open concept living room and dining room are perfect for family gatherings. There is lots of soft seating, a larger kitchen island with four comfortable stools. The kitchen is equipped with all of the amenities of home with a Keurig machine, toaster, refrigerator, gas stove, microwave and dishwasher, dishes, wine glasses and mugs.

Our living room hosts a sprawling, U-shaped sectional couch that gazes upon another new SONY OLED TV. The living room also has a small dining room table for 2-3, and a small desk for laptop work when you need to focus.

There is a full bath with a walk-in glass shower and corner tub. The shower has a hand-held shower head mounted above for your convenience and shampoo, conditioner and body wash are provided. The shower has a small but comfortable footprint. The corner tub is also on the smaller side but is deep and comfortable. High-end Egyptian Cotton towels are also provided in the bathroom for your enjoyment and relaxation.

The condo is located in a historic building that is ripe with amenities, including a cafe, wine bar, bar and grill - and is walkable to countless neighborhood shops, restaurants and a local park. It is a fun place to explore on foot. During the spring and summer, Manitou Springs is most active with people visiting from all over the United States since it is part of a national historic district. During the fall and winter it is much quieter. Both times of year are very enjoyable and creates a unique experience when visiting this National Historic District.

We are also located minutes from the Incline trail, Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods, the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Museum, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo - and the list goes on-and-on.

Guests will have full access to the condo and will have it all to themselves. Please note, while you will have exclusive use to our condo our place is located in a residential community. We have neighbors that live there full time. There are shared amenities in the building like the elevator, rooftop patio, gym and hallways. Please be considerate of our neighbors and observe the quiet hours.

Location, location, location
This property could not be in a better location for hiking, spending time seeing the sites around Pikes Peak and the surrounding area, and enjoying unique Manitou springs. The kitchen was very well stocked with everything we needed for cooking and other necessities. The modern bathroom and updated kitchen complemented the unique charm of the apartment. The beds and furniture were all comfortable. Overall we loved it the unit. The only negative is that in loft bed, (second bedroom) our adult daughter bumped her head several tines on the concrete structure over the bed. It may not be a suitable sleeping area for that reason without some kind of padding or rearrangement of the room. Even though there were ample warnings, the barrier was hard to miss when you were getting into bed or getting up. Overall it was a wonderful stay! other necessities.

4 Days Exploring Manitou Springs
This was a fun condo in the heart of Manitou Springs. We loved all the glass and sunlight coming in the living room and loft. Perfect location overlooking the town center. Walk to shops and restaurants and Incline. And a short drive to the beautiful Garden of the Gods. The condo was very comfortable for 2 people. Ladder/stair and temperature would be challenging for adults to stay in the second bed in the loft. As stated in the listing, heat was not consistent due to high ceilings, old building, and large skylight, BUT electric space heaters were provided and helpful for our March stay. Designated parking in a covered garage was nice too.

Very well appointed property. Upstairs a bit cold even with space heater, and extra blankets, probably due to the wind. Nicely located with parking.

Great location!
We loved our stay in The Owl's Nest. Easy check in/out. GREAT location. Parking in Manitou Springs can be tricky so it was super nice having an assigned parking space. I would stay here again for the convenience to shops/restaurants/activities.
