About this property

Stylish and modern - Great neighborhood - Beautiful terrace - Metro - AC - WiFI

This is an offer for discerning guests who want a luxurious stay in a very well equipped apartment, in the center of Rome but not in the 'tourist only' area, near the main University, several other high level academic institutions and foreign consulates, with plenty of restaurants and shops, but none of the tourist traps! The main attractions are easily reached by public transportation. It is approx 900sqf, plus a 400sqf terrace which becomes a wonderful open air dining room. The living room has a large LCD TV set, (with SKY subscription) and DVD player; the kitchen is fully equipped and has a small breakfast table. There are two bathrooms, both remodeled. We also supply a computer with Internet connection, so you do not have to travel with your laptop and you can connect your smart phone! . Within 5 minutes walking distance you can find several restaurants, two excellent “rosticcerie” from where you can take home a 5 course meal for a fraction of the price in a restaurant. We provide a cellular phone with an Italian number to our guests.
There is more than Rome to see!: If you feel like travelling to see more towns or the countryside, there are many places worth a visit within 2 hours distance. About 1 mile from the apartment there is a train station (Stazione Tiburtina) and a Bus station (Piazzale Tiburtino) from where many lovely towns as Assisi, Spoleto, L'Aquila, Siena, Perugia, can be reached within a couple of hours. The main train station, Termini, is a 5 minutes subway ride ; from there you can, for example, take a train and reach in 25 minutes Frascati, in the heart of Castelli Romani, famous for its wine and restaurants.

Peaceful apartment

We are a family of four, with two young daughters, and we had an absolutely lovely time staying at this apartment for three weeks in July 2014. It suited our family of four perfectly – adequate number of beds and space to spread out, plenty of hot water for showers, and a great kitchen to give us flexibility for times when we wanted to prepare our own meals. And it’s immaculately clean – which I rarely get the chance to say about any place we stay at. The location for us was perfect. Taxis are available very close by on April 21 street, and the metro is located maybe 10 minutes from the apartment. The metro, Bologna, is two stations removed from the main train station, Termini, so using the train for all our sights – near and far – was easy and convenient. Our favorite part of the apartment was the huge patio. You can enjoy the sun in the mornings while sipping coffee, or pull down the cover to be in the shade. The afternoon and evenings are completely in the shade, so we enjoyed reading, playing games or enjoying our own mix of hors d'oeuvres before venturing out for dinner. Speaking of dinner: we enjoyed local restaurants just as much as the restaurants in the touristy areas. This gave us a lot of flexibility and options with our schedule. We enjoyed being close to everything but appreciated being able to retreat to the apartment and get away from the crowds and noise. After wandering around very noisy streets late into the night, we were thankful we had our peaceful apartment that allowed us to get quiet, uninterrupted rest before the next busy day. The most delightful part of the apartment was Ida and her family. One daughter, Paola, lives in the next apartment, and both she and Ida speak English perfectly. They helped us out by arranging a car upon arrival and departure, and they gave us great advice throughout the weeks when we had many, many questions about the best ways to get to different places. And if everything they did for us during our three-week stay weren’t enough, Paola bailed us out at the last minute when we locked our passports in the apartment as we were leaving for the airport. I won’t go into details, but her valiant efforts allowed us to get to the airport on time. This apartment is absolutely delightful and lovingly handled by this special family. We highly recommend this apartment for your Rome adventure – and beyond!

A Little Piece of Heaven on the TERRAzza

My husband and I rented this meticulous well-furnished apartment for eight nights. This bright, airy appartment was quite spacious for the two of us. We appreciated having two baths in the morning when we were scrambling to get out for an early start. We especially enjoyed our morning cappuccino at Agostini's just a short walk from the apartment. They make a terrific afternoon spritz as well. We purchased a 7-day transportation pass for the metro and busses which were located within walking distance. Ida was very helpful in the planning process. I was fortunate enough to speak with her by phone when she was visiting in the states. (No need to pack face clothes. Ida knows her American guests need full size wash clothes). She and her daughter Stefanie were both available to us once in Rome. All appliances were in great working order. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was very good. We made good use of the washer since we both traveled with only a carry on, The weather was beautiful so we able to dry clothes Roman style on our patio. Renting is the best way to experience the culture of this magnificent city. And to fully appreciate the culture we made a daily stop at Pico's for the best gelato in all Italy. Each day we looked forward to our return to this quiet haven away from all the hustle and bustle of the city center. I must say La Terrazza exceeded our expectations.

Nice, Quiet Neighborhood.

This apartment is within a kilometer of Bologna Station on the Rome Metro, near several grocery stores and is in a quiet location, which can be rare in Rome. The owner was most accommodating except for a slight problem with the A/C. We are a couple of retired folks who enjoyed the space and the 2 bathrooms. Terrace did not have the best views, but was a secluded space for an afternoon drink after a long day sightseeing. Recommended for any and all who want a nice, quiet place to stay.

The perfect place to stay in Rome

For sure the description of the apartment was is right on the place is even better than the pictures. I would recommend this apartment to everyone and I have. I stayed 12 days in March 2014 I wish it could have been longer. This was my second trip to Italy it truly was wonderful thanks to Ida's apartment. The apartment was very comfortable the patio terrace was awesome we spent most of our time out there the weather was perfect. The apartment is roomy and modern you can get to anywhere you would want to go easily by bus or train. I do recommend the private car from and to the airport it is well worth the cost. Having the market next door very convenient also the larger markets close by also convenient. It really was a perfect place to relax after our busy days. I will be staying there again. I am already recommending it to friends and family. I can't thank you enough Ida for your care and attention to our needs. I hope to see you again soon. Thanks Pam from San Jose Ca

Wonderful experience!!

This property was amazing! We couldn't have picked a better place. It was spacious, nicely decorated and had an amazing terrace. Quick walk to the rail that took us everywhere we wanted to go. Ida was wonderful to work with and helped make our first trip to Italy fantastic.

MIGLIORE APPARTAMENTO IN ROMA!

My friends and I feel very fortunate to have found this gem of a place to stay in Rome! The apartment is spacious and comfortable with many amenities - - elevator, computer, modern kitchen and bathrooms, and of course la terrazza! The weather was perfect in mid-October; after full and tiring days of sightseeing, we could relax and enjoy this fabulous al fresco setting. The location of the apartment is ideal with a grocery store next door, a good restaurant across the street, a short walk to the Metro, and a quick train ride to the Termini station. The owner, Ida, responded to my initial inquiry immediately and to all our follow-up questions as well, and Paola, her daughter who lives across the hall, is the best concierge. We are especially grateful to all her efforts in returning an important item that was left behind. Grazie mille.

Christmas in Rome!

We enjoyed every moment of our stay in this convenient, safe and comfortable apartment. The apartment was clean and well stocked with kitchen tools and appliances. Our family of 4 (2 teenage daughters) had plenty of room to unpack and relax during our stay. The owners were extremely helpful and gracious, and even made dinner reservations for us on New Year's Eve. The apartment was a short walk to the metro and there were several good restaurants, a take out cafe and a large grocery store within walking distance. We would recommend this property to our friends and family and we would love to stay here again if we visit Rome in the future.

Absolutely Perfect!

How lucky we were to discover this wonderful apartment! The pictures do not do it justice. It is larger than it appears, with two bedrooms, two baths, fully equipped kitchen and washing machine. The deck is wonderful. The TV has more channels than you can imagine and there is a computer for use. The location is fantastic -- not far from the Metro and there is a grocery store right next door. The apartment was clean and inviting and Ida and her daughters are wonderful. My husband and I can't recommend this enough!

Wonderful stay, look forward to our next visit

Just returned from a holiday in Italy and stayed 5 nights here. Could not have been better. The apartment is spacious, comfortable and clean. Wish we would have been there longer to take advantage of the terrace-next time! Thorough explanation of everything when we arrived. Mulitple grocery stores nearby, with 1 next door, allowed us to have a leisurely breakfast in the morning prior to conquering the sites. All email before arrival was answered promptly answering all questions. Location is great. a quick 10-15 minute walk to the train (B Line at Bologna) and from there you can get everywhere as it is 3 stops to Termini station where you can switch to the A Line if needed. Will definitely look here for my next visit as well as let everyone know what a find this place is.

A Slice of Roman Heaven!

My husband and I had the privilege of staying in this lovely flat, located in the heart of Rome, January 13th to the 19th, 2012. A beautifully serene neighborhood, close of all attractions, buses and the metro. When next in Rome, we will certainly check the availability of this flat first. The flat is spacious, clean and beautiful. Within a 5 minute walk are great restaurants, bars and a great local pub. Very short walk to Piazza Bologna. The owner and hostess is as charming and sweet as they come. She went above and beyond to assist us with all of our needs, such as transportation to the airport. We would highly recommend these accommodations to anyone planning on visiting Rome.

Great apartment, safe neighborhood!

While our friends paid a fortune to stay in a tiny, dark hotel room, we would come “home” to a spacious comfortable apartment with all the amenities. The apartment is just like you see in the photos. We were nervous about staying outside the “tourist” area but didn’t need to be. In a safe neighborhood, just three stops on the metro from the termini, with a short walk, we would stop at the big supermarket, or the discount one right next door, or go to the restaurant across the street or the gelato close by. My husband and I stayed here for a week before going on a cruise and we had come in to Rome from Sorrento. Ida greeted us at our late check in and was SO helpful. She is a lovely lady and speaks perfect English. It was nice to have a computer where we could book our Vatican ticket (you only needed to give them the confirmation number) and didn’t need a print out). I can just echo what everyone else says here and want to thank Ida for being so kind and mailing back to me some clothes I stupidly left behind. We WILL be back one day (and learn how to use the buses)! Ciao Ciao!!

Roman Retreat

We enjoyed out stay in this apartment, location was PERFECT....very close to the Metro, safe neighbourhood with small supermarket next door open from 8am until 8pm, fresh baked goods daily, nice selection of all you need to stock up for your holiday. Was lovely to have Paola across the hall for any last minute questions, she was kind enough to book our train tickets to the airport on line for us. The apartment has a computer so you can easily book your sightseeing tours on line, which I HIGHLY recommend you do, esp Vatican city and the Colosseum...as queues were several hours long on days we were there. We had no problems with pickpockets etc, as with any busy city or areas heavily populated, be careful and be sensible with jewelry, cash etc....Thank you Ida and Paola for all your help, we very much recommend this apartment if you are visiting Rome.

Wonderful stay in Rome

My family and I (2 adults and 2 children ages 6 and 3) stayed at La Terrazza apartment for three night on our vacation to Italy April 10-13th. The apartment was beautiful, clean and very spacious. The terrace was our little piece of heaven, we had breakfast and dinner out in the terrace during our stay. Everything is close by, the metro, grocery store, fruit and vegetable stand, bakery and banks. It was a great location. The owner was very sweet making sure we had everything we needed for our stay and her daughter Paola was very helpful and informative. We were very sad to leave Italy. Thank you so much Ida and Paola for your wonderful hospitality.

Ideal retreat from exciting, tiring sightseeing

Our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 teenaged boys) thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this very comfortable, well appointed apartment. It provides so much more space than 2 hotel rooms at a fraction of the cost. We can only echo reviews written by other visitors. The welcome and helpfulness of the owners and all the amenities around and about are described very truthfully. The only addition we can make is try to visit a restaurant famed for tiramisu in flavours previously unknown. It is a metro ride away and not really much else is near there, but it is an experience in itself - Bar Pompi, Via Albalonga off Piazza Roma (Metro Stop Re di Roma wich is on the A Line in the direction of Anagnina). Thank you very much to Ida and Stefania for your help before, during and after our stay.

Really felt like a home away from home!

After busy days of trekking around the city, it was so nice to come back to a big, quiet, comfy place where I could cook, my hubby could check email and the kids could chill and play. Paola, Stefy, and Ida did so many things to make us feel welcome. They were fair, helpful, friendly and conscientious and they speak English as well as I do. We have stayed in rental apartments literally all over Europe, and this experience was one of the best we've had. The metro is just a few blocks away, there are markets literally right next door, and there is a great little gelato place down the street. There is also an elevator for those who need help with stairs. We highly recommend this apartment and the entire Piccolo/Peruzzi family!

Great apartment with a very welcoming owner!

We just returned from a week staying in this apartment (2 adults and 1 teenage daughter). It proved to me a very enjoyable experience. The apartment is clean ,safe and there is a very nice affordable restaurant across street. There are 2 markets very close by and the Bologna subway stop is about a 10 minute walk. Around the corner is the Suan bar where I enjoyed a delicious cappacino every day for 1 Euro! The owner of apartment is very inviting and kind and her daughter lives across hall and is helpful and friendly also. There were no issues and we would highly recommend this apartment to others. We only wish it had been warmer so we could enjoy the beautiful terrace.

Rome Retreat

We spent our last 5 days at this property after spending the previous 3.5 weeks traveling around Italy. We were very ready for some home comforts. Having a washer and dryer, microwave and dishwasher were wonderful conveniences. The instructions for use were clear, including diagrams. The terrace was great for hanging out clothes and enjoying a glass of wine before dinner. We used the internet to reserve tours and communicate with friends and family. The location was wonderful, a quiet residential neighborhood but easy access to the metro and the various sights we wanted to see. The information sheet for restaurants, markets and where to find the best gelato was appreciated. Stephanie, the owners daughter was very thorrough about information and also called a taxi for the airport on the day of our departure. We will recommend this property to our family and friends.

Home-away-from-home in Roma, Italy

My friend and I were looking for a chance to experience Rome as the natives do, so we jumped at the chance to lease this wonderful apartment for our two-week stay. With two bedrooms and two baths, we had plenty of elbow room in this 4th floor home with elevator access. We were very happy with the modern, clean bathrooms and kitchen, the computer with internet supplied by the owner, and the 42 inch flat screen in the livingroom. Most of all, however was its convenient location in northeast Rome. We were right next door to a great little market and right around the corner from a large supermarket. There were two great restaurants right outside the door and a bank just on the corner. The Metro was about a quarter-mile walk, which helped get us in shape for the walking that we did while in the Eternal City. In the afternoons, we would come home from a day of sightseeing and relax on the large, cool terrace on the back of the apartment. The owner is very nice, very accomodating, and speaks perfect English. If you are looking for more than the cookie cutter, hotel experience in Rome, you will really enjoy living as the Romans do!

Home away from Home

Our two week stay in Rome was made even more comfortable by having this wonderful apartment to stay in. The area is within walking distance of the Piazza de Bologna metro station and is well away from the chaos that is downtown Rome. We were very satisfied with the newly refurbished baths and kitchen and cooked many breakfasts and serveral dinners which saved many euros. Conviently located just next door is a terrific little grocery store with wonderful home made bread and almost all you would need. Just around the corner is a larger grocery that will supply all your needs. There is a wonderful little restaurant right across the street that makes killer pizzas that start at 5 euros. The area is surrounded by a low key shopping district. The 400 sq ft terrace was a wonderful retreat after long humid days of sightseeing. The owner is quite helpful and speaks perfect english. There is a washer/dryer combo, computer with internet access, a 42in flatscreen TV and a DVD player. The owner has thought of everything to make our stay a home away from home.

Truly a homeaway (from home)

Our family of 4 (2 adults + 2 teenagers) stayed for a week and the end of July beginning of August. What a terrific way to pretend to be a local. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, especially the lovely terrace. We even had a rare thunder and lightening storm which proved beautiful to watch from the terrace. While the appliances took some getting used to it was a fantastic having a well stocked kitchen to use. Leaving for the 2nd half of our vacation with clean clothes was wonderful. Having 2 bathrooms was even better. While the second bedroom is a little small my 2 teens were so tired at the end of the day they hardly noticed. They were more excited having a computer to access the internet. The location of the apartment is well situated to the Metro, restaurants and a terrific full service grocery store. We did not want to drive in Rome and definitely did not need to. I would recommend this lovely apartment to anyone.

Great place to base your yourself in Rome

LOCATION:- Whilst it may look a little out of the way - with the Metro B line so close, it is a great place to base yourself for a stay in Rome. Within a 5 minute walk and 10 minute train journey you can get to most of the main sights. There is a wonderful restaurant opposite, a supermarket 20 meters away and a great deli with lots of great local food 100mts walk from the apartment. Totally worth the extra train stops! APARTMENT:- Whilst the outside of the building, looks a little rough around the edges, the apartment itself is huge by Rome standards! and the massive outdoor terrace makes dinner at the end of a long day a total pleasure. We only ate out 1 night - it was fantastic. Also the air-conditioning proved to be a huge bonus!! The lounge room could benefit from having a fold out sofa-bed and the second bedroom is a little squashed, due to the large built in desk - but you don't spend much time in there! Two bathrooms are great, though like all Italian plumbing ...... the water is a little faster than a trickle. OVERALL:- Unlike many holiday apartments we have stayed in, this was very well equipped, the owners were very friendly and I would recommend it to anyone traveling to Rome. Only hesitation would be if you have teenage kids - the second bedroom is a bit of a squeeze and the sofa does not fold out into a bed ...

Excellent Location and Wonderful Owners

The apartment was cozy and very well located (three blocks from Bolognia Metro) and around the corner to a pharmacy and a large supermarket. The apartment was on the top floor of a four story building. Weather was wonderful in May so we were able to enjoy breakfast in the terrace every morning. The owners were wonderfully attentive and their English was impeccable as they have all done graduate studies in the United States. They set up a very helpful binder with information about where to eat and where to take the bus, etc which we found very useful. In fact, we had dinner at a very trendy place (busy top floors but quiet downstairs) they recommended called MoArt near the Carrefour with excellent pizza, service, etc. Over all, the experience was truly memorable. I would definitely stay there again.
