The home was as advertised, with clean and comfortably sized rooms and a nicely decorated communal area and kitchen. We had some great views out the back, through the trees. We count ourselves fortunate that we found the place. It made for a perfect home base for exploring the area.
The house was perfect for us! Plenty of room and well equipped. Beautiful morning and nights on the porch and night time star gazing. The host Paul, could not have been any nicer or more accommodating.
6 adults just spent a relaxing weekend here. House was quiet, very clean, well-stocked with coffee, teas, soap, house slippers, and all the basic necessities. We enjoyed the cozy fireplace (host even provided Duraflame), beautiful mountain views from the patio, and saw many bright stars at night. Be careful if driving at night as it is a steep winding climb up the mountain. The hosts were very easy to communicate with, provided restaurant tips, and clear instructions on how to use everything in the house. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home and would come back again.
We went to a conference in Front Royal. The place was easy access. All items needed to cook which was amazing because we could sit as a family without interruption and having to wait for subpar food in a restaurant setting. Only odd thing was having to dispose of toilet paper in trash can instead of toilet.
Would lease again!

Wilderness!
This was our first time visiting this part of VA and were not sure where to stay or what to do - this worked out just fine as we were close enough to things that mattered to us. The house was clean and uncluttered with plenty of kitchen utensils. The bedding was lovely and beds comfy. Must say it was quiet. Only complaint would be no where to put clothes away and only 4 hangers in the closets - but we made it work.
This is a cute home lovingly decorated. Quite well-stocked kitchen although there are no measuring cups or measuring spoons. A cute coffee bar is set up and coffee is provided. There is a supply of soaps, detergents, paper towels and tp provided which is very nice. Beds were comfy, smart thermostat is great. We didn't use the hot tub but it looked inviting. We were told that firewood was provided but there was only one Duraflame-type starter log and two other small logs there, so bring your own if you want fires in the fireplace. We noticed that a portable baby crib and high chair were provided and there were some baby toys there along with a few games and books. The driveway for guest's use is semi-circular and steep but there is parking up above the house off the roadside. There was a snow-ice storm while we were out and the roads in the area were completely icy. We saw several cars, trucks and a mail vehicle attempt to drive on the roads only to slide all over and into the ditch. We had to leave our car parked about a half mile away and a snowplow driver gave us a ride to the house! That was a godsend! He even returned the next day and drove my husband back to retrieve the car and get back to the house so we could load up the car and be out by the 10 a.m. departure time! The communication with VRBO was good and quite prompt.
This is a newer home high on a hill in a fairly remote area not far off I-66, about 8 miles east of Front Royal. We were close enough to civilization but enjoyed beautiful views from the big windows in the home out over a mature forest. The beds were comfortable, kitchen well equipped, and were able to enjoy the World Series on a large screen TV. Would enjoy coming back here again!
This place was just as you see in the pictures! Super cute place with everything you need. The home was beautifully decorated . Place was easy to get to nestled away in the hills. Loved seeing the deer's at night! Thanks again for a great stay!
