About this property

Executive Log Home~Bass Lk~4BR+Loft/3.5BA~ Sauna/Game Rm/Theater Rm/Bar

Come ~ enjoy the peace and quiet of the north woods in this private, 4bedroom+loft/ 4bath, log home on Bass Lake in Eagle River, WI. The home sits on 1.68 beautiful wooded acres on Bass Lake. Serenity awaits you at this unique property situated on the shores of one of the area's most sought after spring fed lakes that features breathtaking views and great fishing. This lake is so desirable because it is a private, full recreation lake (no crowds). Large redwood pines and oak trees surround the property. Eagles nest in trees all along the lakefront. You will be amazed at the beautiful sunsets from the western exposure! This large, log house with sauna allows you and your guests to enjoy each other's company and still have privacy when needed. The home features a full basement with game room (Arcade Classics, Cruisin Exotica, billiards, shuffle board, darts), bar/kitchenette, sauna, and theater room. We have a large permanent pier for water toys and your boat.

The master bedroom is on the main floor, offers gorgeous lake views from every window and has a queen bed. The other three bedrooms are on the second level and offer a view of the lake. Bedroom #4 features a full bed with a full/queen bunk. Bedroom #3 has a full bed and a twin bunk bed (lakeside). Bedroom #2 is equipped with a queen bed (lakeside). There is a loft with a futon. The great room has a queen sleeper sofa. We have two twin beds, queen sleeper sofa and a futon in the walkout basement. This beauty has a magnificently spacious great room with floor to ceiling fieldstone fireplace, 3 full baths and a powder room. The kitchen is fully equipped for any gourmet chef and the main level affords dining for 22 people.

Sit out on the deck and enjoy your morning coffee or evening refresher and listen to the peace and quiet. Year-round pleasure at your beck and call; all season sports available at your door, from active water sports, to snowmobiling, cross country skiing, ice skating and downhill skiing. The home offers a large dock and swim platform for your water toys and entertaining enjoyment. This area of the lake has a sandy bottom with a very gradual drop off. Great fishing and boating lake. Our lake is a private lake, there is a private launch that you may use, however, you must clean your boat before launching it into our lake - including live wells and bilge pumps. If you desire to cruise the Eagle River/Three Lakes 28 lake chain, you may not launch your boat back into our lake. Our lake has not been introduced to Millfoil or any other invasive species and we would like to keep it that way. You may rent a boat on the chain for a day(make sure you reserve early) - go restaurant hopping and tie-up at Eagle Waters Resort for a break. Brule Ski Hill is just 35 minutes away.

Great family time
We had our annual extended family get together here this summer. It really was a perfect place to bring everyone together and get great quality time. Between the lakefront, swimming, fire pit, and games in the lower level, everyone really had an amazing time.

Perfect family gathering place for all ages
The inside was amazing with an excellent layout. We had 16 people in our family and there was space and something to do for all ages. The games were great for a variety of ages. The eating arrangement also worked out perfect. To get to the water there were a lot of steps so someone with a mobility issue would have a difficult time. Also the use of a couple of kayaks would have been nice. Overall it was an amazing place and Chris and Scott were excellent to work with.

Nice vacation home
This is a nice home with lots to do inside and out. The lake was lovely, the teens had fun playing in the gameroom downstairs, and there was plenty of room for everyone in our party of 11. The downsides were some of the lights and ceiling fans were not operational and there is no WiFi. Overall a very relaxing stay.

Wonderful Property for our family vacation
We have a large family and we try to get together every year for a summer vacation on the lake. This property fit our needs perfectly and we had a wonderful time on Bass Lake. We got our fill of panfish and even had a fresh cooked fish fry one evening. There was plenty to do at the property as we have kids aged from 3 to 17! Chris was easy to get ahold of and helped with anything we needed. Overall we had a great 2022 trip!

Great Place for A Family Gathering
As my family arrived they said,"wow how did you find this place?" This spacious house on a beautiful lake was serene and a great place to spend time swimming, fishing, playing games and eating lots of good food. We also enjoyed the sauna since it was cool at times and we could warm up before dipping into the wonderful water of Bass Lake. Some of the futon beds were a bit hard on the older generation but everything else was comfortable and we felt well taken care of. Thanks for providing such a great place for my family reunion.

Family Weekend 2023
The property is in a beautiful location - it snowed the day we arrived so we understand that the long driveway was not plowed but it did make it difficult to drive in with a trailer. We spent a day at Ski Brule which all the children especially enjoyed. Our Sunday was spent on the ice at nearby Cranberry Lake and the fishermen were very successive - bluegill & crappie. With the basement so equipped with video games; shuffle board; darts & billiards - everyone was occupied in the evenings. We had 10 adults - 8 children.

Extended Family Stay
We had relatives come to town from CA & every one of us couldn't have had a better stay at this property. With many age groups it provided great options for entertaining everyone (games/shuffle board/great lake frontage/close for exploring other areas). We also had enough spaces to give each family their own room & privacy for our little one to go to bed early while others stayed up late. The lake was never packed with others which made it peaceful & great for all activities. Everyone has already mentioned wanting to go back again next year! The only minor issue had nothing to do with the property cleanliness itself - the guests before us left some hidden "surprises" that even the cleaning lady didn't find because of their discreet locations (old chicken wings hidden in a bar drawer & undies in the corner of a top bunk). All quickly laughed off by all!

Majestic Executive Log Lodge
The photos do not do this cabin justice. This true log cabin is so beautifully appointed with North Woods furniture and wall to wall windows that you feel you are one with nature. The stone tile flooring and granite counter tops are so gorgeous that I have decided to change out my flooring and counter tops to mimic what the designer did here (I took lots of photos). We had a wonderful vacation during the New Year - it was cold outside but so comfortable inside. The kids were so happy to play all day inside and out. The games in the walkout were so fun the kids were entertained the whole time - a full week! Snowmobiling was great! We went to Ski Brule to ski for the day - fun! We are planning a summer trip - the property and the views are stunning - we're really looking forward to seeing it when the trees are in full bloom. Thank you to the owners for allowing us to stay in your perfect Craig's lil'Lodge.

A Fantastic Property
We had a tremendous vacation with our entire family and found this home to better than advertised. The master bedroom was spacious and well appointed with tremendous views. Everything was clean and in great condition and the layout was fantastic. Best of all there was lots to do or not do. The beach was fantastic for our three young granddaughters (very shallow over an extensive area) and we enjoyed fishing, skiing and tubing. Inside, the entire basement area was perfect for relaxing and playing games. We had a pool tournament, watched movies, sat in the sauna and enjoyed the arcade games. Upstairs, on the main level, we just hung out on the comfortable sofas by the beautiful fireplace. The kitchen was great, the back porch was great, the lake was large enough and yet not too busy and my father-in-law caught some pretty impressive fish. All in all, it was a wonderful experience that we hope to repeat. Chris was easy to work with and we can highly recommend this property.

Beautiful cabin and location
We had a wonderful vacation at this beautiful log cabin located on scenic Bass Lake. The cabin was impeccably clean. The kitchen was stocked with every possible cooking utensil. The recreational room in the basement provided lots of entertainment with the pool table, shuffle board and arcade games. Bass Lake is a clear beautiful swimming and fishing lake. We enjoyed being able to launch our boat and keep it tied to the pier for the week. Excellent fishing including Bass and Perch. Eagle River is a great location with plenty of state parks with beaches located nearby. Also, little shops and restaurants to enjoy. The only draw back to this cabin is the restriction of linens. We were not able to comply with washing, drying and making of all beds before check out of 10 am so we opted to bring our own linens. This was not ideal and a bit stressful to worry about bringing all of our own sheets and bath towels. Additionally we were expected to vacuum and sweep and since this is a large cabin we spent the last night cleaning. The renter is prompt with communication and easy to contact.

Perfect!
Absolutely perfect north woods home for our large family vacation. The house has been beautifully remodeled and is very well furnished/equipped overall. Fantastic outdoor deck overlooking the lake, fire pit, covered front porch and pier offered plenty of areas to hang out. Bass Lake is a very clear and an overall quiet lake. Fishing and boating on the lake were great throughout the week. The basement rec room area was a huge hit with the kids in our group (ages 8-17). Owners were very responsive to any questions we had as they came up. Honestly, there wasn't much we would have changed. Highly recommended!

Wonderful house
Great house on a great lake. The house is a large log cabin style house with great lake access, fire pit, stocked kitchen, and game room. It was communicated to us that there would be no wifi and this was great for the family time, but not ideal for planning activities nearby with spotty cellphone service. It was also communicated to us that there would be no bedding / towels; would have made the stay even better to not have to bring those items for my family and wash them after we got home. Kids loved swimming and fishing off the dock. Adults loved the fire pit and peaceful setting.

WOW! What a week, perfect weather and a cabin that fit our needs. The decor was great and we had plenty of room to enjoy ourselves. Caught a few keepers fishing and having the use of a boat on site was extra nice. A big plus also was having 2 washers and dryers. Every conversation with Chris was answered immediately, which is a huge recommendation. Thanks Chis for the use of your beautiful place.

Perfect long weekend up north
This is the perfect spot for getting out of the city with some friends. The cabin is very large and comfortable. Having bathrooms and places to sleep on every floor made it easy for everyone to stay. The view and property is amazing, so we spent as much time outside as possible on our boat, swimming, or hanging around the good sized fire pit area. I'd definitely come back again.

I stayed at the cabin with my family and my friends n family for 3N/3D. It was a wonderful log house. The house was clean and spacious. We had a fun filled weekend at the cabin. We were lucky to have a clear sky on one night where in we enjoyed star gazing. Nice place to hangout with friends and family.

Beautiful lake...beautiful house
We needed a week away. It was My husband, myself, our 21 year old son, 2 of his friends and my in-laws. We enjoyed the dock. We fished, rented a pontoon boat, a jet ski, and relaxed. Bring a fan as the master on the first floor doesn't get the air conditioning on the first floor. The fan blew the cool air down the hall, worked like a charm. We brought a Mifi unit to bring wifi access.

Amazing home and property, missing just a few simple touches
We stayed for 5 nights in early June. Loved the property, the house is stunning, the game room downstairs is fantastic, beds are comfy, the deck and the lake are to die for - truly a gem. There were only a few minor things that, being a regular renter of VRBO/airbnb properties that could be nicer: tissues (I've seen this at other places - do we really have to bring tissues of our own? are they really that expensive or a pain for an owner to leave in the bathrooms?), garbage bags (we had to buy our own), a reference binder for the various things to know about the property, such as how the air conditioner works, how the coffee pot works, nearby recommended restaurants, grocery stores, cleaning/check-out procedures and times... all of this info is available in various places - maybe the rental agreement, or on the property description, or taped up somewhere, or if you ask Chris the owner who is pretty quick in getting back to you. But it would be awfully nice to have one spot to look this up, rather than having to search through my phone or laptop, or search around the house for it. It's a minor thing, but little efforts like that put places like this in the 5-star category in my book. Two things to note about this location: 1st, there is no internet or Wi-Fi connection available. Chris was very upfront about this, and of course it does not say they have WiFi in their property description, but many people assume WiFi is by default in most homes. 2nd, the AC is not central - there are 2 big units, one on the main floor, one on the 2nd floor. For 2 of the days we were there, it was 80+ degrees. In order to cool the master bedroom, the unit on the main floor needs to turn one corner, go down the hall, turn another corner and go along a short hallway into the master bedroom (which has a ceiling fan, but it did not appear to be working). Using fans to direct the air there might help, but it means you sleep with your doors open. Upstairs, the unit is in the hallway - again, if you keep your bedroom door closed, that might lessen how much cooling you get. Because it wasn't that hot while we were there, I can't say how well the AC cools the bedrooms - it did a great job cooling the main rooms and kitchen though. To summarize, this place is truly beautiful - kitchen was fully stocked and functional, the lake is as clean and beautiful as it shows in the pictures, this place is HUGE and comfy, great for large gatherings, and at a great price.

Eagle River Cabin
Chris’s cabin was a perfect location for the pond hockey tournament. We were 10 mins from the pond. We had 15 ppl and every one slept comfortably. The sauna was just what we needed after being outside for 2 hours in -30 weather. We really enjoyed the shuffleboard table. Like all of the other reviews, highly recommend bringing your own sheets and towels. The day we arrived it snowed a lot and we were unable to get a couple cars out. After speaking with Chris, she was able to arrange a plow truck within 30 mins- very much appreciated. Overall we had a great time and won the tournament. Thank you!

This place is amazing. The owner is very friendly and helpful. I whole heartedly recommend.
Beautiful tri-level north woods inspired home. Secluded amongst tall evergreens abutting a clear private lake. We had deer making their way through the property daily. It was October when we were there and the picturesque beauty of the fall colors reflecting in the lake were breathtaking. This is perfect for a getaway in any season and can only imagine how fun it would be in summer with the awesome beach and pier. The property was very clean and I would recommend the laundry service for a nominal fee for anyone wanting an easier checkout. We had 10 beds and although there are 2 washer/dryers it was worth not having to worry about getting all the bedding and towels laundered before 10:00 a.m. Chris, the owner is very responsive to any questions or concerns one may have.

Hello, and thank you for visiting our vacation rental. My family and I purchased this log home in October of 2008. We have been coming to the Northwoods all our lives. My husband has family in the Rhinelander area and we love the beauty and tranquility the Northwoods has to offer.

Why they chose this property

We chose this area because of it's pristine beauty. The majestic red pines swaying in the breeze takes my breath away. The view of a Bald Eagle swooping over the shimmering, crystal blue water is magnificent. The brilliance of the Northern Lights is unmatched by any fireworks display.

What makes this property unique

We love to sit on the front porch in the morning with our coffee and paper and watch the dew evaporate off the grass and just listen to the birds. Roasting marshmallows by the campfire is a special treat for the kids. The evening is so wonderful with the sunsets and at night, after we put the kids to bed, we turn on the exterior lights over the deck and read by the window - there is something spectacular about viewing the trees through this artificial light...it's breathtaking.
