About this property

Relaxing three bedroom, two bath house on the oceanfront. Large screened porch and sun deck on the beach side. All the amenities of a home away from home with master bedroom with bath attached with King bed, second bedroom with queen bed and third bedroom with a double bed and twin bunk beds, ceiling fans in two of the three bedrooms, Wifi, 3 smart TVs, AM-FM stereo with outside speakers, fully equipped kitchen with quiet dishwasher, microwave, Keurig and Mr Coffee makers, refrigerator with ice maker and washer/dryer. Vinyl plank flooring in entire house. New king bedroom furniture.

Covered parking and covered entry for the rainy days. Outside the house, there is a beachside deck with a kid/dog gate and beach front screened in porch with porch swing, a picnic table for oceanfront dining and rocking chairs to enjoy the ocean view, outside shower, sun porch and charcoal grill. No smoking. Pets allowed with fee. Towels and linens are NOT INCLUDED and must be pre-ordered.

Dolphin Watch is located between the towns of Surf City Topsail Beach. Both offer many shopping and dining options. Also about a one hour drive to Wilmington and Wrightsville Beach.

My cancellation policy is listed as a no refund policy, but if you need to cancel your stay and I can rent the dates you reserved I will refund your rent.

Screened porch bliss

Great stay. Screened porch is the star - cut the cool breezes that sent everyone else inside. Beach was not crowded even though near two public access points. Perfect beach for your dog. People/community very friendly and courteous. A very relaxing peaceful week.

Great Beach Cottage

Overall, we really enjoyed staying at Dolphin Watch. The home is exactly what we look for in a cottage on the beach. Comfortable, clean, and inviting in an old school way. Is it opulent? Nope. But it feels like your home away from home. Topsail charm without the prentenciousness. It truly has all you'll need in the kitchen to boil up some shrimp and grill some fresh snapper. As a big bonus in August, the AC ran perfect. My teenage daughters loved the hot water capacity too! The owner has stocked a homemade spice Cajun rub that is excellent!

Already Planning Next Year!!

My husband, our four kids, my mom, and our two dogs just spent an entire week at Greg’s place. We had the most fantastic time right from the start. The best part about the whole place is the amazing screened in porch that allowed us to be outside at all hours of the day, regardless of the weather, with a full view of the ocean. Everything was very clean, the beds were very comfortable, and there was plenty of room for all of us to spread out. We already can’t wait to return next summer. Thank you for allowing us to use your beautiful home.

Perfect Beach Cottage

This was our first time staying at this property and me and my family had a wonderful relaxing time. The screen porch was perfect for the kids to eat lunch outside at the picnic table and read in the swing and rocking chairs in the afternoons. The kitchen had everything we could’ve needed. Everything was clean and tidy. Great location. Quiet part of the beach, mostly other families. We loved being able to just walk down and be right on the beach to swim or fly a kite. Thank you for allowing us to stay. We would definitely book here again if we return to topsail beach.

Great Beach House

Right on the beach!

We’ve rented many beach places over the years. The location of Dolphin Watch is the best of them all. A few steps down off the deck and you are on the beach…it was very nice!

Lovely little house

There isn't one bad thing to say about this trip. The house was just right size on a beach that wasn't overcrowded. The weather was perfect during our trip. Two small thunderstorms in the evening after beach time was over. Great place to stay. Will definitely be looking to book a return trip 😁

This is the perfect beach cottage. It has an excellent view of the beach with immediate access off the front deck, has a wonderful screened in porch (and deck), clean, well equipped kitchen, hall bathroom was particular good as it was a large size and had excellent water pressure. I have nothing bad to say. Book this cottage!!

Beach Vacation

Excellent house for the four of us! We loved the views from screened porch and the deck. Water was great all week! Dogs loved being able to join us on vacation too. We loved having dinner on the porch table with the ocean breeze! Thanks for helping us make some great beach memories.

Excellent stay at Greg's place

I come to Topsail every year, and it is always my (and my family's) favorite time. This year it was just my kids, husband, and my parents, and we felt very at home. Greg's house was the perfect size, and had all of the things we needed to keep us comfortable. We LOvE the screened in porch and the ability to hang things inside it like swimsuits. The best part though, was how close the property is to the beach. As I said before we stayed at several houses and a lot of them have a very long walk to the beach even on the deck and stairs down to the beach... My parents are aging now and it's difficult for them to walk too much up and down a lot of stairs that are steep this was so perfect. Thank you again for having us!

SURF SIDE RELAXATION

What a surprise! The emails sent from the Owner were spot on! the Check-in process went smooth, the keys were in place, the Interior was very clean and the layout of bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, dining area and living room were great! Even our little dog had a great time! The Screen Room and open deck were great and even the sun cooperated with mostly sun and some clouds, walking the beach was a great start and end to restful and relaxing days. There are only GREAT days at the beach!

Dolphin Watch

Everything about this place was accurately listed. The location was perfect and ocean front views were perfect. The covered porch and open deck provide a great space to enjoy the outdoors. The owner was nice and very responsive to any questions we had. It is far enough away from businesses and distractions, but close enough to be anywhere in 5-10 minutes. Would love to have stayed longer than two weeks, but it was time to go back to work! Maybe one day in the future.

Fantastic place to stay and relax

We loved our stay at Dolphin Watch. The sunrise is not to be missed. The property is well taken care of, and Greg is quick to respond to any questions that we had. There were many amenities available to use including beach chairs, sand toys, cooking items including pots and pans, books and puzzles. Our dog, who typically is not comfortable in new places, immediately took to the house and felt comfortable exploring the house on his own. Just the ability to sit out on the outside or screened in porch and watch the ocean was a dream come true. With it being wintertime, the beach was quiet, and we were able to relax and play in the sand. The town of Surf City has several local places to grab a bite to eat or pick up some fresh seafood to cook at home. We would not hesitate to book with Greg again if we were vacationing in the area.

Absolutely amazing place!

We stayed here for a week as we were waiting on our new home to close and it was amazing. Everything about it was incredible, the location (Literally on the ocean, you can't get any closer), very clean and organized, comfortable beds, incredible screened in patio with a swing that we loved, and then the regular deck off of that. It had everything we needed and more. Convenient to everything, very quiet location, hardly anyone on the beach when we went. The Owner was incredibly accommodating as we had dogs and they loved waking up for daily walks on the beach, they seemed depressed now that we aren't there anymore, LOL! The Owner was extremely communicative and we would not hesitate to stay here again and plan on actually making this location our yearly rental even though we live in the area now. You will not be disappointed.

Nice ocean front house

From rental to arrival, everything was smooth. We requested a late check out, with no problems. We saw dolphins swimming right off the back deck. It couldn't have been better.

So peaceful! Perfection!

Our family had such an amazing experience here. We were fortunate enough to visit when sea turtle nests were hatching and even got to have some close encounters!! The house itself was just perfect. The location is great, not too far from things but not close enough to feel like we were in the crowd (which still isn't actually too crowded). Let me tell you that the highlight of this home is the screened in porch. There was a lot of rain and some storms, the porch was our haven without feeling like we were missing out, because of weather! Absolutely amazing to sit on the porch while the kids play in the sand and water without feeling like the area is too crowded to relax. Our entire family had such a relaxing week, we all agreed we would stay again, in fact, it was very hard to leave!! Thank you for sharing this piece of paradise with us! Simply amazing!

Annual Beach vacation

I am a native North Carolinian and always wanted a place at the beach. As you can see from our picture, my family loves Dolphin Watch and we get to the beach as often as we can. Over the past 20+ years over 50% of my renters come back to Dolphin Watch. I keep a clean home and try to update something in the home each off season. I currently live at Kerr Lake but love the water, either at the beach or the lake. Dolphin Watch is a second home to me and to my guests.

Why they chose this property

Most of my guests have the same comment, 'Your beach house feels like home'. Every year, I make upgrades to the home based on input from my guests. The kitchen is very well equipped. The home is located on a quiet part of the beach, but a 5 minute ride to the towns of Surf City or Topsail Beach.

What makes this property unique

Screen porch and porch swing-great place to sit and watch the sun rise or to watch the waves roll in. The living area and dining area of the home have sliding glass doors that give guests a great view of the beach. Our home has a covered entry from the parking area. Our home is on one level, so easy access.
