Lovely home in a gorgeous, peaceful location. The house comes stocked with anything you need. The location is quiet with excellent star watching skies and a river right by.
If you are looking for a scenic and secluded place with plenty to do in the area, then this is the cabin for you! Absolutely beautiful property. It's a good drive down the mountain to the cabin road, but the privacy is well worth it. We enjoyed the porch with all the seating options, the walk to the river is easy and we enjoyed having the swimming hole to cool off in. We saw lots of fish too and our boys explored every inch of the river. THe house has everything you need, just bring your clothes and food and you are set! Was very close to so many areas to explore, we could have stayed another week!
wonderful house and beautiful property. Ple ty of smallmouth to catch in the river and the kids enjoyed swimming as well. Excellent host with great communication and very minimal through traffic during our stay. Highly recommend!
The house is lovingly and beautifully put together, comfortable well furbished, delightful. No central air but fans everywhere, outdoor patio perfect for meals and watching fireflies. Easier river access is via the gravel path behind the house than through the brush and woods on the property. Communication before going with owners was so-so (they were in europe turns out) and later was perfect. The river was not swimmable (sadly), was ankle length, which was disappointing since we had hoped to swim. Loved the local ice cream shop, art cooperative, farmers market, and beautiful hikes all around. Thank you.
We desperately needed some time away from the city and this could not have been better. The place is so peaceful and relaxed. There was room for our dogs to run around and a river right down the way that we could walk to. The host was also very communicative and helpful in answering any questions we had. Will definitely be staying again
This property was well appointed to serve as a place to relax and watch nature. Deer are everywhere, we counted 54 in a 5 mile stretch, caught and released smallmouth bass daily and saw a large number of warblers within the boundaries of the 6 acres of this property. The location is off the beaten path but serves as an excellent base camp to spruce knob, Dolly Sods, and Blackwater falls. We will likely return in the spring for more warblers and some trout. We also got an early start on observing the Perseid meteor shower.
