We loved this property! Nicely equipped for our family getaway. Comfy beds and places to hang out. Kayaking, oysters, beach walks and great location to check out the surrounding area. Although we were so comfortable, we had an awesome staycation!
Beautiful views and peaceful location. Enjoyed sitting and reading, while watching the boats and wildlife. We found our bed comfortable and the sheets were very soft and inviting!
Our stay was great. House was very clean and very well stocked. The view is breathtaking! Loved having the covered front porch as it rained most of the weekend. John met us at the property at check in and was very nice and informative about the property, shellfishing, etc. very happy with this rental.
Beautiful setting, views from the deck and front bedrooms are glorious. John checked us in and taught us how to collect oysters and cook them in the BBQ - delicious. Place is so well equipped that you won’t need anything. Kayaks are available on the private beach for use.
We stayed for four nights and wished it was longer. Everything worked. The view was great and extremely tranquil.
The property itself was spacious, with great light. Having both indoor and outdoor dining was a treat as was the viewing patio.
All around wonderful.
We felt welcomed and cared for.
We will return.
Great location and perfect patio and deck to relax. Everything you need to enjoy your vacation. We were lucky enough to see a pod of Orca whales pass by.
Perfect location for a girlfriend’s getaway. The host greeted us upon arrival and we felt right at home. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you would need. Great location. Beautiful views. So much to do. Close to hiking trails, Lake Cushman. We’ll be back.
This is a great retreat, perched above the canal, isolated from the highway by a bit of driveway. As they advertise, this is not just some rental, but their home with their furnishings where you're invited to come and stay. Our getaway was too short but we did cook local clams and eat local oysters, and our pups were welcome here too!
It was perfect. The property is on a secluded lot with a stellar view... We harvested our own posters and grilled them each night. The beds were comfortable and the place was clean.
John was a delight and great communicator.
Met Cindy and John who showed us around their home. Views were fantastic and great exercise walking down and up from the beach. Kayak”ed every morning - they have three and life jackets in the garage. House was really clean, kitchen fully stocked with anything we needed, lots of beach towels, view from the deck in the morning with our coffee was so relaxing!!
We’ll be back!!
We had a great time. This house is secluded with a beautiful waterfront view. There were lots of games and toys for the granddaughter and everything you could ever need in the kitchen. The beds were really comfortable. It was nice to have the owner John meet us there and go over everything. He really made us feel at home. We will definitely be back
Very comfortable space stocked with everything you need and more for a fun vacation. The location on Hood Canal is perfect and it was so nice to have the kayaks to play in. Everyone in the family loved this home. We hope to return.
This is one of the best stocked VRBO houses I have ever stayed in and everything is in good working order! It was clean, comfortable and the location can't be beat! Next time we spend time in that area this home is going to be our first choice.
This home had everything to unwind from busy life and enjoy amazing surroundings. Many have said it is the best stocked vacation home they have stayed in- I would agree. Anything we needed, they had. Whether to cook, enjoy the water, wash our clothes, or just relax. So much space for our family of 5 to sleep and spread out. Some of our favorite things were gathering oysters ( thanks to John for helping us know how to do this properly), kayaking, walking along the water, exploring nearby waterfalls, and just curling up with a book on the terrace or in the window nooks. We are sad to be leaving. And hope to get back soon!

About the host
Hosted by John Lewis
As owners of a summer in Washington we have found that ,like everything in the northwest , if you don’t use it you lose it due to lack of use. This is why we share with others ,it gives guests the opportunity to enjoy the canal and it keeps my house intact due to being used. As a owner who meets every guest it gives me the opportunity to meet people from everywhere so no strangers ever stay there, only new friends.
Why they chose this property
Palikai is unique because it so secluded, no neighbors, no hiway noise because 101 is located away from the house. If you so choose you can spend the stay without seeing other people. The Olympic mountains are accessible in a 10 minute drive, there is a award winning seafood bar 5 miles from the house. Or just eat your own off our beach.
What makes this property unique
Palikai is the ultimate in seculsion, no neighbors, no noise, a spectacular view
