Our family and friends of all ages are still raving about Lynn’s relaxing, clean, intriguing, historical, and private property.
We surprised my parents for their 40th wedding anniversary and my father loved the comfortable porches, balconies, and ample places to sit and enjoy coffee and company. My mother could not get over the endless rooms filled with antiques and history. She said the whole experience was out of a movie.
Would HIGHLY recommend for anyone looking for a special spot in Maine.
This is a beautiful home with a stunning back and front yard. Very relaxing sitting on the back deck, listening to the frogs. The bonus room was spacious and comfortable. Owner was quick to resolve television issue. Would definitely stay again.
This property is beautiful and relaxing. The pictures do not do it justice. There is so much thought put into the decor and it is very comfortable and cozy. We had a party of 10, 8 adults and 2 nine year olds. There was plenty of room for everyone to have their space, when needed, as well as plenty of spots for togetherness. Lynn have a lovely tour upon arrival and was super responsive to all of our inquiries. My only regret was that I did not have more downtime to spend on the property itself. I will definitely rent again if I have a larger party.
I first found this property while looking for a wedding venue. I reached out and Lynn was quick to respond and organize a tour of the property. From the first step inside, I was blown away, and it only got better as we saw more of the house. While I wanted to have my wedding here, we soon realized we had too many guests, however decided to keep the rental so our families could all be together. I cannot put into words what an incredible weekend we had! The Emerson House is not only stunning, but had room for everybody to be comfortable. There was something for everyone to do, from hang out on the deck, to sit around the fire pit, to play horseshoes, to canoeing. The house itself was an attraction for both family that stayed with us, and those that popped by to visit. It is full of incredible antiques, and each room is put together with detailed thought and themes. The backyard is magical, complete with a beautiful frog lily pond. Each and every person barely had the words to describe how incredible it was. Lynn was a pleasure to work with and very accommodating when it came to questions and even needing to pop by and take one more look to figure out room assignments. I cannot thank Lynn enough for opening up her house full of treasures and sharing with us! We will be back the next time we have family visiting us in Maine!!! 💛
We loved the the listing as soon as we saw it, seemed something like right out of Downton Abbey. We were little hesitant to book as this place is new listing and the photos were too good be true. We are a group of 8 and everyone got excited looking at the photos and we booked it. And boy did we make a right choice, this is a beautifully decorated 18th century mansion. There was so much care taken in obtaining antique decoration stuff and accessories. It felt like we time travelled into 1800’s. I can only image how much time the host spent in putting all the decoration together. Every room , even the restrooms are aesthetically put together.
There is a huge hall with 85 inch tv, where we had game night watching tv. In the morning we had a photo shoot in the beautiful backyard that comes with a pond .
You can spent hours in each room going over the details. This house itself can be a trip and we are really glad we chose it and had a huge surprise in our trip.
This is a huge house that can have 10+ persons and even great for people to experience the lifestyle of 1800’s.
Kudos to host for putting an experience with the stay!
P.S
The house is well equipped with washer/ dryer/ fridge/ stove etc
Highly recommended, go book your stay now!!
Our friends stayed at this property, and they found it to be well located, nicely appointed, very clean and the perfect property. Lynn was incredibly responsive at all times, and we couldn’t have been more satisfied. What a beautiful spot, and what a great place to stay!

I wanted to restore this New England Cape and Greek Revival home back to its original features and I love antiques, so, after two years, the home is finally ready to share with guests. I call it my "masterpiece" and am very proud of how it turned out. I hope you enjoy the home and its many splendors as much as we do!
Why they chose this property
It is absolutely beautiful and relaxing. It is located on a quiet street close to Bar Harbor, Castine, Deer Isle, Blue Hill, Belfast and Bangor and it's just outside of Bucksport. There are two tenants in a small efficiency apartment off the garage, but they are quiet and are rarely home.
What makes this property unique
Old and new, lot's of antiques. Beautiful yard and setting.
